Book of Yuletide — turn Wild counts into picks

Three, four or five Wilds decide how many Pick and Click choices you receive. Those picks can add spins, expanding symbols or a persistent bonus multiplier.

Book of Yuletide by Quickspin is a five-reel, ten-line book-style game. Three or more Wilds award four Free Spins, one expanding symbol, a starting x1 multiplier and Pick and Click choices.

Verified configuration

The official sheet lists total RTP versions of 96.27%, 94.19% and 90.12%, volatility five out of five and a €0.20–€100 reference stake range. Confirm the exact model and account currency in the live game.

Its simulated maximum differs by RTP model and was measured over 100 billion spins. These test results are not likely outcomes or promises.

Wilds, picks and expansion

Three, four or five Wilds give three, six or twelve initial picks. During the feature, three or more Wilds add two spins and provide one, two or four picks according to the same symbol count.

Pick and Click can award extra spins, more expanding symbols or multiplier increases. Selected tiles are removed from the current pool; if all listed awards are exhausted, remaining picks add three spins each.

Each expanding symbol receives a separate pay evaluation after the normal result, fills its reels and pays anywhere. Wilds are ignored in those extra evaluations. All Free Spin wins use the accumulated multiplier.

Feature buys

The official page lists 150x, 500x and 1600x buys for three, four or five Wilds. The resulting base spin awards at least the purchased count. Market availability must be checked separately.

Mobile and evidence checks

On mobile, preserve the pick pool, awarded expansions, multiplier and remaining spins. Record the Game ID and complete choice history when querying a result.

The Quickspin catalogue guide explains configuration checks. Reel Nightmare offers a contrasting reel-specific sticky-Wild feature rather than a pick pool.

Base grid and ten paylines

Book of Yuletide uses five reels and ten fixed paylines. Standard combinations follow those lines. The Wild symbol substitutes under the paytable and also determines feature entry.

Record every trigger Wild by reel and row. Three, four and five symbols create different pick counts even though all routes begin with the same core Free Spins system.

The euro reference range is supplier information. Use the actual denomination and total stake shown in the operator’s deployed version.

Three-Wild entry state

Three Wilds award four Free Spins, one expanding symbol, a starting x1 multiplier and three Pick and Click selections.

Store these four starting components separately. Four spins are duration; the expanding symbol is a feature identity; x1 is the current multiplier; three is the number of picks.

Do not treat a pick as another spin until the selected tile actually awards spins. The pool can also supply expansion or multiplier improvements.

Four-Wild entry state

Four Wilds retain the documented core feature but provide six initial picks. Save the trigger grid and the six-choice counter before any tile is opened.

The larger pick count does not guarantee a particular mix of awards. Tiles are selected from the current pool and are removed after selection.

Record each choice in order so the changing pool can be reconstructed.

Five-Wild entry state

Five Wilds provide twelve initial picks. This is the largest natural entry state described and is also the target of the 1600× direct route.

Twelve picks can exhaust more of the pool, but cost or pick count does not guarantee a return above the stake. Preserve the complete selection history.

If the pool empties before all picks are used, the remaining-pick rule applies rather than inventing replacement tiles.

Pick and Click pool

The pool contains extra Free Spins, additional expanding symbols and multiplier increases. Before the first choice, capture every visible tile or the pool summary provided by the game.

After a selection, record the award and remove that tile from the available pool. The next pick operates on the reduced set.

Do not record the displayed back of a tile as a known award. Only the revealed selection belongs in the history.

Extra-spin picks

When a selected tile awards spins, add the stated number to the remaining counter. Record spins before the pick, awarded amount and spins after addition.

An extra-spin pick is not a scatter retrigger. It comes from the Pick and Click pool and should be labelled accordingly.

If several picks award spins, store each addition rather than merging them into one unexplained final counter.

Additional expanding symbols

A selected symbol becomes another expanding symbol for the feature. Record its identity and the spin from which it becomes active.

Each expanding symbol receives a separate post-result evaluation. It fills its reels where present and uses the pay-anywhere rule described by the source.

Do not merge several selected symbols into one evaluation. Store the base result first, then one extra evaluation per active expanding symbol.

Multiplier increases

Multiplier picks raise the persistent feature multiplier. Record the value before the choice, increment or new value, and resulting state.

All Free Spin wins use the accumulated multiplier. The timing matters: awards before the increase should not be recalculated at the later value.

Keep multiplier changes separate from the number of picks and Free Spins. They are three independent counters on the feature screen.

Exhausted pool rule

Selected tiles are removed. If all listed awards have been exhausted while picks remain, every remaining pick adds three Free Spins.

Record the point at which the pool became empty and the number of unused picks. Multiply that count by three to reconcile the added spins.

Do not apply the fallback while any selectable pool awards remain. The live history should show the switch.

Base bonus retrigger

During Free Spins, three or more Wilds add two spins and also grant picks based on count: one for three Wilds, two for four and four for five.

Record the Wild count, two-spin addition and number of picks as separate events. The spins do not scale with four or five Wilds under the stated rule; the pick count does.

Process the newly awarded picks in their displayed order and update the pool before the next feature spin.

Pay-anywhere expanding evaluation

After the normal reel result settles, each selected expanding symbol is evaluated separately. Matching instances expand to fill their reels and pay anywhere, without needing adjacent reels.

Wild symbols are ignored in these extra evaluations. Do not use a Wild to complete or improve the expanding-symbol count.

Store the number of reels containing the selected symbol, its separate award and the persistent multiplier. Add the normal payline result only once.

Multiple expanding symbols

If picks have selected several symbol identities, repeat the extra evaluation for each one. A reel can participate in more than one evaluation if it contains the corresponding symbols in the settled base result.

Use separate rows by symbol name. Do not combine their reel counts or treat the feature as one giant expansion.

The order of displayed expansions can be visual; the account history should provide the total and individual events where available.

150× purchase

The 150× route supplies at least three Wilds and the associated initial pick state. Confirm base stake, total price, feature name and active RTP before acceptance.

The purchase buys entry, not a 150× minimum award. Record the actual Wild count delivered because “at least three” can permit a stronger state.

Market availability must be confirmed in the logged-in game.

500× purchase

The 500× route targets at least four Wilds and six initial picks. Its price is more than three times the first route.

Save the purchase confirmation and resulting trigger grid. If five Wilds land, record the actual twelve-pick state rather than forcing the result into the four-Wild description.

The ledger should show the debit separately from the feature credit.

1600× purchase

The 1600× route buys the five-Wild entry and twelve picks. This is a very large multiple of base stake, but it does not guarantee exhaustion of a favourable pool or return of the cost.

Check the total account-currency price carefully. A denomination change can make a remembered cash cost wrong.

Record all twelve choices, pool depletion, expansions and multiplier changes. The larger route particularly requires a complete audit trail.

RTP alternatives

The listed totals are 96.27%, 94.19% and 90.12%. They are alternative deployments and should not be averaged.

Open the live information panel for exact RTP and Game ID. All versions carry volatility five out of five in the source.

Optional purchases can have separately disclosed returns. Use the active help where available instead of assuming the base total applies to every route.

Simulation scope

The sheet’s maximum simulations use 100 billion spins, a larger sample than many other provider sheets. Keep each observed result paired with its RTP model and sample.

Do not convert the largest observation into a guaranteed cap or personal frequency. The live paytable is the source for a formal maximum if one is stated.

Where the extracted summary lacks exact simulation values, leave them absent rather than inventing them.

Complete pick worksheet

Start with Game ID, RTP, stake, trigger Wild count, starting spins, x1 multiplier, expanding symbol and pick count.

For every pick, record pool before selection, revealed award, pool after selection, spins, multiplier and active expanding symbols. Mark the exhausted-pool fallback when it begins.

For each Free Spin, record normal line award and separate pay-anywhere evaluations. Attach any retrigger Wild count and new picks.

Mobile validation

On a phone, the pick pool, remaining picks, Free Spins, multiplier and active expanding symbols must remain visible. Open the round history after a test feature.

The 150×, 500× and 1600× confirmations must show complete currency costs. A festive animation should not hide the debit.

Use the server round ID for support; a screenshot of a revealed gift tile without pool state is incomplete evidence.

Product and market scope

Quickspin establishes the feature mechanics, prices and RTPs. It does not prove New Zealand casino availability, NZD limits or operator payment terms.

Keep Book of Yuletide separate from other book games and Reel Nightmare. Label the gothic winter illustration as editorial art and date the source review.

Trigger and purchase state comparison

Create a compact table for the three entry levels. Three Wilds correspond to three picks, four to six and five to twelve. All begin with four Free Spins, one expanding symbol and x1 unless the deployed help states another route-specific difference.

For natural triggers, record the one paid spin that produced the Wilds. For purchases, record the 150×, 500× or 1600× debit. Keep entry origin separate from the feature state.

The phrase “at least” on a purchase matters. A lower route can deliver more Wilds than its minimum. Use the actual settled count and resulting picks rather than the price label alone.

Choice chronology example

Suppose a three-Wild entry gives three picks. The first reveals extra spins, the second selects another expanding symbol and the third increases the multiplier. Record them P1, P2 and P3 with state before and after each.

If later Wilds award another pick, it operates on the remaining pool. The earlier tiles do not return. Preserve the depleted pool so the new choice cannot be evaluated against the original set.

This example explains state tracking, not a promised mix of awards. Actual selections remain random and must come from the round history.

Multiplier timing in the extra evaluations

Every Free Spin win uses the accumulated multiplier, including normal line results and the separately evaluated expanding symbols as specified by the help.

Record the multiplier at the start of the spin. If a pick changes it between spins, the new value applies from the documented point forward. Do not apply the closing feature multiplier to earlier awards.

Where a retrigger grants picks during a spin, check whether choices resolve before the next spin or after the current evaluations. The server event order controls the arithmetic.

Expanding-symbol coordinate record

For each selected identity, mark every reel where that symbol appears in the settled result. The extra evaluation fills those reels and pays anywhere, so adjacency is not required.

Count qualifying reels, not the total number of individual symbols after expansion. Use the paytable to map the reel count to an award.

Wilds are ignored in this calculation. Keep them out even if they contributed to the normal ten-line result on the same spin.

Pool exhaustion example

If two picks remain after the final listed tile is selected, the fallback adds three spins for each remaining pick, producing six additional spins. Record the pool-empty event and both conversions.

Do not invent new multiplier or expanding-symbol tiles to fill the missing choices. The fallback exists specifically for the exhausted pool.

The remaining-pick counter should reach zero after the conversion while the Free Spins counter increases by the documented total.

Checking bought-feature value delivery

After a direct purchase, compare the confirmation with the base result. A 150× route must deliver at least three Wilds, 500× at least four and 1600× five under the source.

If the delivered count appears lower, capture the full grid and round ID before interacting further. If it is higher, use the stronger pick state rather than asking the game to downgrade it to the purchased minimum.

Price and payout are distinct. A correct delivery can still settle below the amount paid because the picks, symbols and spins remain random.

Final ledger reconciliation

Add the normal line result for each Free Spin, every separate expanding-symbol award and the active multiplier. Track extra-spin picks and Wild retriggers until the counter reaches zero.

Compare the completed feature total with the round-specific ledger credit. For a buy, keep the large debit in a separate field so it is not subtracted from the game-reported win during rule verification.

If the history is incomplete, send authenticated support the trigger count, choice log, expansions, multiplier, Game ID and round ID. No account password is needed.

Editorial acceptance check

The finished article must explain four starting spins, three pick tiers, the changing pool, exhausted-pick fallback, independent pay-anywhere evaluations and retrigger picks. Check that the FAQ matches these rules.

Confirm all three RTPs and buy prices against the dated official sources. Remove unsupported values rather than borrowing from another book-style title.

Run duplicate, internal-link and image-path audits. The page should earn its length through the pick calculation, not repeated general warnings.

Frequently asked questions

How many paylines are used? Ten fixed lines on five reels.

What do three Wilds trigger? Four Free Spins, three picks, one expanding symbol and a starting x1 multiplier.

Can expanding symbols pay without adjacent reels? The extra evaluation uses pay-anywhere for that selected symbol.

What are the listed buy costs? 150x, 500x and 1600x for three, four or five Wilds.

Is it confirmed in New Zealand? No. Provider documentation does not prove local operator availability.

Official sources

Bottom line: trace the Wild count into the pick total, then record every extra spin, expansion and multiplier before evaluating the feature.

How to verify the version you can actually open

A provider page proves that a title exists and describes the supplier's intended rules. It does not prove that a casino accepts players in New Zealand, that the title is enabled for a particular account, or that the highest published RTP is the version in the lobby. Treat availability, operator eligibility and product configuration as three separate checks.

Start with identity, then configuration

Open the game only through the authenticated casino lobby. The information or help panel should identify Quickspin, the exact title and the active mathematical return. Compare the reel or grid layout, paylines or cluster rules, named features and symbol behaviour with the official product material. Similar artwork or a matching title is not enough when the help file is missing or inconsistent.

When the supplier publishes several RTP values, report all of them as configurations. Do not assume the highest option is deployed. RTP is a theoretical long-run measure across a very large number of rounds; it is not a refund rate for one player and cannot predict the next result. Volatility is different: it describes how unevenly results are distributed on the provider's scale.

Read stake controls as money, not interface decoration

Provider sheets often quote a reference range in euros. That range does not establish New Zealand-dollar support or the limits in a specific account. Before a paid round, identify the total amount that will leave the balance. If the interface separates denomination, coins and lines, verify the combined total. If Extra Bet is active, calculate its full cost before pressing spin.

Feature-buy prices are multiples of the current bet, not promised returns. A 100x purchase at a $1 stake costs $100; at a $2 stake it costs $200. Availability can vary by market and some mathematical configurations may not support the control. If the live help does not explain the price, delivered feature and active RTP, leave the option unused.

Keep simulation figures in their proper scope

A game sheet may publish a maximum result observed in a large simulation. That is not automatically the contractual maximum payout and never describes a likely session. Preserve the provider's wording, sample size and configuration. Check the live rules for a binding cap and the operator terms for any separate payout limit. Do not turn an extreme result into a promotional headline.

Audit a disputed round

If an animation freezes or a connection drops, do not repeat the wager immediately. Reopen the game through the authenticated lobby and inspect round history. Record the time, total stake, balance movement and round identifier. The result can be settled by the gaming system even when the device never displays the final animation. Send evidence through verified operator support; never disclose a password, recovery phrase or one-time code.

Read the paytable as a calculation document

The paytable should explain what creates a win, which symbols substitute, where special symbols can land and how multiple awards combine. For line games, confirm direction and active paylines. For cluster games, confirm adjacency, minimum group size and the order of collection. For respins, identify what remains locked, what resets the counter and what ends the feature. A graphic effect can illustrate those rules but cannot replace them.

Separate addition from multiplication. Several prize values may be added before a multiplier applies, while reel-specific multipliers can sometimes multiply together only when each reel participates in the same win. Reconstruct one low-stake result from game history. If the arithmetic cannot be matched to the help file, stop and ask the operator rather than guessing.

Do not confuse hit frequency with a profitable round

Provider sheets can publish hit frequency or category probabilities. A hit simply means a round returned a qualifying amount; it can be smaller than the stake. “Big”, “Mega” or “Epic” thresholds are provider reporting categories, not promises. They are useful for comparing mathematical versions only when definitions and samples are the same.

Random outcomes do not become due after a long gap. A feature that appeared repeatedly in a demo or marketing clip has no obligation to repeat in a funded session. Previous rounds do not create a debt from the next random result.

Confirm market and device behaviour independently

A title can exist in the supplier catalogue while an operator disables it for a territory, currency, device or bonus. Language localisation is not evidence of legal availability. Confirm the operator's identity, accepted countries and current lobby separately from the provider review.

On mobile, verify that balance, total bet, feature state and help remain visible without overlap. On desktop, check that browser zoom does not hide a purchase control or change the apparent denomination. Mathematical configuration should not change merely because the screen changes; if the help shows another RTP, treat it as a different deployment and record it.

Keep a compact evidence record

For any fact used in a review, save the title, provider, official URL, document date when available, access date and exact territorial scope. For a live session, add the operator domain, Game ID, RTP, currency and a non-sensitive screenshot of the help panel. This makes later corrections possible when a supplier updates a sheet or an operator changes configuration.

Missing information should remain missing. Do not estimate an RTP from results, convert a euro reference range into an operator's NZD limit, or treat another casino's configuration as evidence. A transparent “not confirmed” is more useful than a precise-looking number without the correct source.

Use limits that survive the feature design

Collection meters, expanding grids, sticky symbols and near misses can make a session feel unfinished. Unless the rules explicitly preserve progress, the visible state has no value after the round or feature ends. Set a money limit and time limit before launch, count feature buys immediately, and stop at the limit even when a meter appears close to an upgrade.

No random game is an income plan. Do not borrow, use essential funds or raise the stake to recover a loss. If play stops feeling recreational, use timeout, deposit-limit or self-exclusion tools and consult the site's responsible gambling guide.

Primary source and correction path

This guide separates documented product information from market availability. Check the official source and the game help inside the exact version offered before making a decision.
