Aristocats: royal-symbol Free Games and Family Bonus rules
Aristocats links a 25-line base game to two different feature geometries: a 3×3 royal symbol during Free Games and a persistent 5×3 collector with four jackpot levels. This guide separates their triggers and wager bases.
Supplier sources below. Operator eligibility needs a separate check.

Aristocats is a five-reel, three-row Endorphina slot with 25 fixed paylines. The official page checked on 8 October 2026 publishes 96.01% RTP, high volatility, a €0.25–€112.50 reference stake range and Approved status. Three or more shield Scatters start five Free Games; six or more Bonus symbols open Royal Family Bonus.
The name is easily confused with “Aristocrats”, including a typo in some supplier copy. This page covers the Endorphina title shown as Aristocats and keeps evidence attached to that exact URL.

These are supplier specifications, not proof of New Zealand availability, NZD stake limits, deployed RTP or current jackpot values.
Base-game line method
Ordinary combinations use the 25 paths displayed in game help. Save the line map and evaluate each result from the required starting reel, recording consecutive symbols and any crown Wild substitution.
The black cat is identified as the highest ordinary symbol after Scatter and Wild, with five listed at 6× base bet. Five Wilds and five Scatters are each listed at 20× base bet. These values are checkpoints, not a complete paytable.
Use the loaded definition of base bet before converting any multiplier to currency. Total stake may be a different unit.
Crown Wild and excluded symbols
The crown Wild substitutes for ordinary symbols except Scatter and Bonus. It may appear stacked in both the base game and Free Games.
A stack occupies several cells, so mark each line crossing those cells. Do not treat the tall crown as a separate multiplier or allow it to replace a missing feature trigger.
Preserve the pre-animation grid because later feature graphics can obscure the original Wild coordinates.
Shield Scatters and royal Free Games
Three or more shield Scatters trigger five Free Games. During the feature, reels two, three and four unite as one central royal symbol. One royal symbol equals nine standard symbols of a kind.
The large symbol describes a 3×3 centre. It should not be converted into nine unrelated reel stops without consulting the line map. Audit each fixed path through the covered cells.
During Free Games, Scatters appear only on reels two, three and four. They do not pay there but add three Free Games. Record the counter change separately from any line award.
Royal Bonus symbol inside Free Games
The official description states that a large Royal Bonus symbol appearing in Free Games can trigger Royal Family Bonus. This is a nested route distinct from collecting six standard Bonus symbols on an ordinary grid.
Save the Free Games counter before entry and after return. The collector remains part of the original paid round; no new wager should be debited at the transition.
Do not insist on six visible small symbols when the documented large-symbol route has occurred. Label the trigger as “large Bonus in Free Games” in the round record.
Royal Family Bonus Game
Six or more scattered Bonus symbols can activate the collector. The reels become a 5×3 grid containing Diamond, Ruby and Aristopaw positions. Diamond and Ruby symbols remain; Aristopaw positions continue spinning.
The feature starts with three attempts. Each respin consumes one, and landing a new Bonus symbol resets the counter to three. The round ends when attempts expire or all 15 cells are covered.
Create a cell map and record every new landing plus the remaining attempts. This explains the sequence more reliably than a final full-screen total.
Diamond, Ruby and Ultra awards
Diamond Bonus symbols carry multipliers up to 18×. Ruby symbols may provide one of four jackpots and are described as awarding up to 50× total bet. Record the actual revealed value rather than the ceiling.
Filling all 15 cells awards the Ultra Jackpot at 1000× total bet. Require evidence of a complete grid before applying it. A nearly full collector does not qualify.
Keep base-bet line prizes and total-bet collector prizes in different columns. Their numbers cannot be summed correctly until each wager basis is resolved.
Collector reconciliation
Capture title, version, currency, stake and round ID. At entry, mark all occupied positions. For every respin, record new Diamonds or Rubies, revealed figures and attempt reset.
At completion, add supported Diamond values, named Ruby jackpot awards and Ultra only when its full-grid condition is visible. Compare the calculated total with transaction history.
If the interface shows an inclusive collector total, do not add each displayed intermediate counter again. Animation totals may be cumulative.
RTP and high volatility
The supplier’s 96.01% RTP is theoretical over many rounds for the documented setup. High volatility does not provide a schedule for Scatters, large symbols or jackpots.
Confirm the RTP in live help. If another value is deployed, state both sources and dates. Do not average configurations.
The €0.25–€112.50 range is a euro reference, not an NZD promise or recommended stake. Account controls and responsible-play limits should govern any paid session.
Mobile and demo checks
On mobile, verify that the 3×3 royal symbol is not cropped and that the 15 collector cells remain individually readable. The attempt counter, jackpot labels and history control must stay accessible after orientation changes.
A permitted demo can illustrate feature geometry but cannot confirm real-money access or account settings. Save demo evidence with its URL and do not represent simulated credits as cash outcomes.
Common errors
- Searching under Aristocrats and citing another product.
- Counting a stacked Wild as a multiplier.
- Letting Wild replace Scatter or Bonus.
- Treating the 3×3 royal symbol as nine independent spins.
- Paying Free Games Scatters when rules say they only retrigger.
- Awarding Ultra from fewer than 15 filled cells.
- Calling 50× the value of every Ruby.
- Mixing base-bet and total-bet prizes.
Distinguishing the three grids
Aristocats uses the same outer five-by-three footprint for three different calculations. Label a screenshot B for base, F for royal-symbol Free Games or R for Royal Family Bonus before interpreting it. The base state contains ordinary symbols and fixed lines. The F state still uses line logic but replaces the central nine cells with one large royal symbol. The R state abandons paylines and tracks persistent collector cells.
For B, store every line path and Wild substitution. For F, draw the central 3×3 boundary and evaluate each of the 25 paths passing through it. For R, number all 15 positions and record only newly locked Diamond or Ruby symbols plus the attempt counter. Keeping three worksheets prevents a large central symbol from being mistaken for a collector value.
The transition evidence matters as much as the result. Preserve the shield count that starts Free Games, the large Royal Bonus if it opens the nested collector, or the six small Bonus symbols if that route is used. Then record the state to which the game returns after Royal Family Bonus ends.
Jackpot terminology
Four jackpot levels exist in the Royal Family description, but their labels and actual awarded amounts must come from the loaded build. “Up to 50× total bet” is a ceiling for a Ruby outcome, not a fixed value for each colour or level. The 1000× Ultra has its own complete-grid condition.
Avoid calling any displayed jackpot progressive unless current help explicitly says it is funded by a changing pool. Fixed multiplier jackpots and progressive monetary jackpots have different evidence requirements.
Preparing a concise support case
Collect the round ID, version, account currency, total stake, displayed RTP and balance movement. Attach the trigger screen, state-labelled feature frames and final history entry. For Royal Family Bonus, include a 15-cell landing log showing every attempt reset.
Calculate line prizes, Diamond values, Ruby awards and Ultra in separate rows. If the operator’s history is inclusive, compare it with the combined supported total once. This avoids the common error of adding a feature total to itself.
Support does not need speculation about when a jackpot was “due”. It needs reproducible coordinates, units and timestamps.
Before closing the record, confirm that the final feature total and closing balance use the same currency and decimal precision. Save any operator response beside the original evidence, and date a correction if the live rules differ from the supplier page. This keeps later readers from inheriting an obsolete collector rule.
Final assessment
Aristocats has two feature maps that look similar but settle differently. Free Games enlarge the centre for fixed-line evaluation; Royal Family Bonus locks values into a 15-cell collector. A reliable review preserves the transition and does not flatten both into a generic jackpot description.
Endorphina supports the headline configuration and 96.01% RTP. Current operator help must establish local access, currency, stake ladder, actual RTP and transaction record.

How to verify the version you can actually open
A provider page proves that a title exists and describes the supplier's intended rules. It does not prove that a casino accepts players in New Zealand, that the title is enabled for a particular account, or that the highest published RTP is the version in the lobby. Treat availability, operator eligibility and product configuration as three separate checks.
Start with identity, then configuration
Open the game only through the authenticated casino lobby. The information or help panel should identify Endorphina, the exact title and the active mathematical return. Compare the reel or grid layout, paylines or cluster rules, named features and symbol behaviour with the official product material. Similar artwork or a matching title is not enough when the help file is missing or inconsistent.
When the supplier publishes several RTP values, report all of them as configurations. Do not assume the highest option is deployed. RTP is a theoretical long-run measure across a very large number of rounds; it is not a refund rate for one player and cannot predict the next result. Volatility is different: it describes how unevenly results are distributed on the provider's scale.
Read stake controls as money, not interface decoration
Provider sheets often quote a reference range in euros. That range does not establish New Zealand-dollar support or the limits in a specific account. Before a paid round, identify the total amount that will leave the balance. If the interface separates denomination, coins and lines, verify the combined total. If Extra Bet is active, calculate its full cost before pressing spin.
Feature-buy prices are multiples of the current bet, not promised returns. A 100x purchase at a $1 stake costs $100; at a $2 stake it costs $200. Availability can vary by market and some mathematical configurations may not support the control. If the live help does not explain the price, delivered feature and active RTP, leave the option unused.
Keep simulation figures in their proper scope
A game sheet may publish a maximum result observed in a large simulation. That is not automatically the contractual maximum payout and never describes a likely session. Preserve the provider's wording, sample size and configuration. Check the live rules for a binding cap and the operator terms for any separate payout limit. Do not turn an extreme result into a promotional headline.
Audit a disputed round
If an animation freezes or a connection drops, do not repeat the wager immediately. Reopen the game through the authenticated lobby and inspect round history. Record the time, total stake, balance movement and round identifier. The result can be settled by the gaming system even when the device never displays the final animation. Send evidence through verified operator support; never disclose a password, recovery phrase or one-time code.
Read the paytable as a calculation document
The paytable should explain what creates a win, which symbols substitute, where special symbols can land and how multiple awards combine. For line games, confirm direction and active paylines. For cluster games, confirm adjacency, minimum group size and the order of collection. For respins, identify what remains locked, what resets the counter and what ends the feature. A graphic effect can illustrate those rules but cannot replace them.
Separate addition from multiplication. Several prize values may be added before a multiplier applies, while reel-specific multipliers can sometimes multiply together only when each reel participates in the same win. Reconstruct one low-stake result from game history. If the arithmetic cannot be matched to the help file, stop and ask the operator rather than guessing.
Do not confuse hit frequency with a profitable round
Provider sheets can publish hit frequency or category probabilities. A hit simply means a round returned a qualifying amount; it can be smaller than the stake. “Big”, “Mega” or “Epic” thresholds are provider reporting categories, not promises. They are useful for comparing mathematical versions only when definitions and samples are the same.
Random outcomes do not become due after a long gap. A feature that appeared repeatedly in a demo or marketing clip has no obligation to repeat in a funded session. Previous rounds do not create a debt from the next random result.
Confirm market and device behaviour independently
A title can exist in the supplier catalogue while an operator disables it for a territory, currency, device or bonus. Language localisation is not evidence of legal availability. Confirm the operator's identity, accepted countries and current lobby separately from the provider review.
On mobile, verify that balance, total bet, feature state and help remain visible without overlap. On desktop, check that browser zoom does not hide a purchase control or change the apparent denomination. Mathematical configuration should not change merely because the screen changes; if the help shows another RTP, treat it as a different deployment and record it.
Keep a compact evidence record
For any fact used in a review, save the title, provider, official URL, document date when available, access date and exact territorial scope. For a live session, add the operator domain, Game ID, RTP, currency and a non-sensitive screenshot of the help panel. This makes later corrections possible when a supplier updates a sheet or an operator changes configuration.
Missing information should remain missing. Do not estimate an RTP from results, convert a euro reference range into an operator's NZD limit, or treat another casino's configuration as evidence. A transparent “not confirmed” is more useful than a precise-looking number without the correct source.
Use limits that survive the feature design
Collection meters, expanding grids, sticky symbols and near misses can make a session feel unfinished. Unless the rules explicitly preserve progress, the visible state has no value after the round or feature ends. Set a money limit and time limit before launch, count feature buys immediately, and stop at the limit even when a meter appears close to an upgrade.
No random game is an income plan. Do not borrow, use essential funds or raise the stake to recover a loss. If play stops feeling recreational, use timeout, deposit-limit or self-exclusion tools and consult the site's responsible gambling guide.
Primary source and correction path
This guide separates documented product information from market availability. Check the official source and the game help inside the exact version offered before making a decision.
