2016 Gladiators is a five-reel, three-row sports-themed slot with 21 paylines. Endorphina publishes 94.76% RTP, high volatility and a €0.21–€105 reference range. A fiery wreath Scatter awards 10, 20 or 50 Free Games for three, four or five symbols, and the feature includes a dynamic Sticky Wild mechanic.

The figures come from the provider page checked on 8 October 2026. They do not prove that this older title is available at a New Zealand operator, nor that the euro range or published RTP matches a particular deployment.

The 94.76% figure is lower than many newer games in this catalogue, but it remains a theoretical rate rather than a short-session forecast. Compare only like-for-like deployed configurations and never translate the gap into a promised cash result.

Twenty-one fixed paylines

Each ordinary win follows one of 21 fixed routes across the 5×3 grid. The sports pictures must appear in the required order on adjacent reels. Use the line overlay and round breakdown rather than visual proximity to decide what qualifies.

The provider’s pay examples use base bet. Check whether the operator interface distinguishes line stake, coin value and total stake. The currency amount charged and credited in history is the authoritative account-level record.

Fiery wreath Scatter ladder

The wreath with flame acts as Scatter. Three award 10 Free Games, four award 20 and five award 50. This is a genuine tiered trigger, so a screenshot of the complete grid is necessary to justify the initial counter.

Record any direct Scatter payment separately if the live table lists one. The public summary focuses on feature length and does not give a complete Scatter-pay table. Do not invent a cash award from the number of spins.

Dynamic Sticky Wilds

Endorphina identifies a dynamic Sticky Wild feature during Free Games. “Sticky” normally means a Wild remains for more than one feature spin, while “dynamic” suggests its state can change. The visible product description does not fully specify movement, duration or reset timing.

Therefore the live help must answer four questions: when a Wild becomes sticky, where it may move, how long it persists and when it resets. Capture the grid before and after each feature spin. Mark newly created, retained, moved and removed Wilds using different ledger columns.

Do not carry a Wild into a later round simply because it appeared sticky in an earlier screenshot. The counter and transition animation should demonstrate persistence. When a connection interruption hides a change, rely on server history or support rather than reconstructing the missing state from expectation.

Wild substitution

The green wreath is Wild and substitutes for all regular symbols except Scatter. A Wild contributes only to lines that actually use its position. It does not multiply every award on the screen merely by being present.

In the feature, a retained Wild may support several lines over multiple rounds. Record each settled route once for each round. The persistence is a property of the symbol state, not a separate credit that should be added to the payout.

Published regular symbols

The football player is the highest-paying regular picture, with five paying 143x base bet. The basketball player is second at 48x for five. Other sports represented in the provider description include volleyball and swimming.

These figures cover selected five-of-a-kind outcomes only. Read shorter combinations and remaining symbols from the current paytable. Never derive them proportionally or claim 143x as the game’s maximum win.

RTP and high volatility

The supplier page publishes 94.76% RTP. Store it with the title, URL and check date. Endorphina does not display a public alternative-RTP table on this page, so a casino’s loaded help remains essential.

High volatility describes uneven distribution. Fifty Free Games may sound substantial, but the number of spins alone does not guarantee a positive feature result. Sticky Wild frequency and symbol outcomes remain random.

Stake range and currency

The €0.21–€105 range is a euro reference, not an NZD promise. It may also reflect 21 paylines through a particular denomination model. If a live version appears, record currency, total stake and selectable steps directly from the interface.

Set a money limit and a time limit before play. Do not raise the stake to chase the five-Scatter tier; the trigger is random, and earlier misses do not improve the next round’s probability.

Risk Game and Bonus Pop

Endorphina lists a Risk Game. If it follows an eligible win, preserve the original settlement before deciding whether to use it. Record the amount entered, choice, outcome and ending credit as a new event.

Bonus Pop is also listed, but availability can vary by operator or jurisdiction. If present, capture the displayed price, feature state and any RTP notice. A paid path into Free Games is not evidence about how often three to five Scatters land naturally.

Mobile and demo verification

The product page says the game supports mobile devices. On a phone, make sure the 21-line map, Wild states, counter, total stake and balance remain visible. Test whether rotating the screen interrupts or obscures an active feature.

A provider demo can show the intended transition and help vocabulary. It cannot prove New Zealand real-money access, local approval or the same live configuration. Compare help versions before using a demo observation in a dispute.

Worked Sticky Wild ledger

Start with the trigger grid and initial counter. For every Free Game, list the opening Wild coordinates, new Wilds, retained positions, any movement, winning lines, currency credit and closing counter. This format reveals whether the symbol genuinely persisted and prevents a later screen from being attributed to the wrong spin.

When the feature ends, add currency credits once and compare them with the feature total. Do not add the number of retained Wilds or remaining spins as value. They are state information, not separate awards.

Scatter-tier comparison

Ten, twenty and fifty spins are different durations, not three selectable strategies. The trigger grid determines the tier. Comparing isolated feature totals without normalising stake and entry tier is misleading because the observation windows differ materially.

For research, group samples by Scatter count and active RTP. Report average stake-normalised results only with a sample size and without implying future performance. A few memorable fifty-spin features cannot establish a general return rate.

Interrupted-round procedure

If the feature freezes, note the last completed counter and visible Wild coordinates. Do not repeatedly refresh until the state becomes ambiguous. Reopen history, save the parent and child round IDs, and compare server settlement with the balance.

Ask support for the feature-state log, not merely a screenshot of the final credit. The key evidence is which Wilds were active on each child round and how each of the 21 lines was evaluated.

Comparing the three trigger tiers

A useful comparison begins with the trigger itself, not the final feature total. Label samples as three-, four- or five-Scatter entries and convert monetary results into multiples of the actual total stake only after confirming the game’s base-bet definition. Keep active RTP and version beside every sample.

The longer fifty-spin tier naturally offers more rounds in which a sticky state could develop, but that does not make its individual spins more favourable. Likewise, a ten-spin feature is not “failed” simply because no Wild persists for long. Each tier follows the random outcomes produced after its confirmed opening counter.

When presenting observations, publish the number of samples and avoid percentage claims from a handful of sessions. A dramatic five-Scatter result is useful as a mechanics example, not evidence of frequency. The provider page does not publish the probability of receiving each tier, so no trigger odds should be inferred from the 10/20/50 structure.

Evidence pack

Preserve title, provider, active RTP, currency, stake, UTC time, round ID, opening and closing balances, trigger grid, Scatter count, initial counter and complete Wild-state ledger. Add line tables and any Risk Game or Bonus Pop records separately.

Keep identity and payment documents private. A public correction needs redacted technical evidence, not account credentials.

Naming and historical context

The title and provider copy reference the 2016 sporting season and Rio. This guide treats that setting as commercial theme only. It does not imply endorsement by the Olympic movement, and our artwork avoids protected rings or event branding.

The official page supports grid, lines, RTP, volatility, Free Games ladder, Wild function and headline symbol values. It does not prove current release status at any NZ operator or publish a maximum-win figure.

Final assessment

The main verification challenge is state persistence. A dynamic Sticky Wild cannot be audited from a final frame; it requires a chronological record across the feature. The three Scatter tiers also demand an exact trigger count.

Use 94.76% as a dated supplier reference, not a promise. Confirm the deployed help, euro-versus-account stake scope and optional features before drawing conclusions.

How to verify the version you can actually open

A provider page proves that a title exists and describes the supplier's intended rules. It does not prove that a casino accepts players in New Zealand, that the title is enabled for a particular account, or that the highest published RTP is the version in the lobby. Treat availability, operator eligibility and product configuration as three separate checks.

Start with identity, then configuration

Open the game only through the authenticated casino lobby. The information or help panel should identify Endorphina, the exact title and the active mathematical return. Compare the reel or grid layout, paylines or cluster rules, named features and symbol behaviour with the official product material. Similar artwork or a matching title is not enough when the help file is missing or inconsistent.

When the supplier publishes several RTP values, report all of them as configurations. Do not assume the highest option is deployed. RTP is a theoretical long-run measure across a very large number of rounds; it is not a refund rate for one player and cannot predict the next result. Volatility is different: it describes how unevenly results are distributed on the provider's scale.

Read stake controls as money, not interface decoration

Provider sheets often quote a reference range in euros. That range does not establish New Zealand-dollar support or the limits in a specific account. Before a paid round, identify the total amount that will leave the balance. If the interface separates denomination, coins and lines, verify the combined total. If Extra Bet is active, calculate its full cost before pressing spin.

Feature-buy prices are multiples of the current bet, not promised returns. A 100x purchase at a $1 stake costs $100; at a $2 stake it costs $200. Availability can vary by market and some mathematical configurations may not support the control. If the live help does not explain the price, delivered feature and active RTP, leave the option unused.

Keep simulation figures in their proper scope

A game sheet may publish a maximum result observed in a large simulation. That is not automatically the contractual maximum payout and never describes a likely session. Preserve the provider's wording, sample size and configuration. Check the live rules for a binding cap and the operator terms for any separate payout limit. Do not turn an extreme result into a promotional headline.

Audit a disputed round

If an animation freezes or a connection drops, do not repeat the wager immediately. Reopen the game through the authenticated lobby and inspect round history. Record the time, total stake, balance movement and round identifier. The result can be settled by the gaming system even when the device never displays the final animation. Send evidence through verified operator support; never disclose a password, recovery phrase or one-time code.

Read the paytable as a calculation document

The paytable should explain what creates a win, which symbols substitute, where special symbols can land and how multiple awards combine. For line games, confirm direction and active paylines. For cluster games, confirm adjacency, minimum group size and the order of collection. For respins, identify what remains locked, what resets the counter and what ends the feature. A graphic effect can illustrate those rules but cannot replace them.

Separate addition from multiplication. Several prize values may be added before a multiplier applies, while reel-specific multipliers can sometimes multiply together only when each reel participates in the same win. Reconstruct one low-stake result from game history. If the arithmetic cannot be matched to the help file, stop and ask the operator rather than guessing.

Do not confuse hit frequency with a profitable round

Provider sheets can publish hit frequency or category probabilities. A hit simply means a round returned a qualifying amount; it can be smaller than the stake. “Big”, “Mega” or “Epic” thresholds are provider reporting categories, not promises. They are useful for comparing mathematical versions only when definitions and samples are the same.

Random outcomes do not become due after a long gap. A feature that appeared repeatedly in a demo or marketing clip has no obligation to repeat in a funded session. Previous rounds do not create a debt from the next random result.

Confirm market and device behaviour independently

A title can exist in the supplier catalogue while an operator disables it for a territory, currency, device or bonus. Language localisation is not evidence of legal availability. Confirm the operator's identity, accepted countries and current lobby separately from the provider review.

On mobile, verify that balance, total bet, feature state and help remain visible without overlap. On desktop, check that browser zoom does not hide a purchase control or change the apparent denomination. Mathematical configuration should not change merely because the screen changes; if the help shows another RTP, treat it as a different deployment and record it.

Keep a compact evidence record

For any fact used in a review, save the title, provider, official URL, document date when available, access date and exact territorial scope. For a live session, add the operator domain, Game ID, RTP, currency and a non-sensitive screenshot of the help panel. This makes later corrections possible when a supplier updates a sheet or an operator changes configuration.

Missing information should remain missing. Do not estimate an RTP from results, convert a euro reference range into an operator's NZD limit, or treat another casino's configuration as evidence. A transparent “not confirmed” is more useful than a precise-looking number without the correct source.

Use limits that survive the feature design

Collection meters, expanding grids, sticky symbols and near misses can make a session feel unfinished. Unless the rules explicitly preserve progress, the visible state has no value after the round or feature ends. Set a money limit and time limit before launch, count feature buys immediately, and stop at the limit even when a meter appears close to an upgrade.

No random game is an income plan. Do not borrow, use essential funds or raise the stake to recover a loss. If play stops feeling recreational, use timeout, deposit-limit or self-exclusion tools and consult the site's responsible gambling guide.

Primary source and correction path

This guide separates documented product information from market availability. Check the official source and the game help inside the exact version offered before making a decision.
