Sticky Bandits: Wild Return — massive outlaws can leave a 3×3 Sticky Wild block

Three bandits can appear at normal size or up to 3×3; in Free Spins, a massive bandit hit converts its whole footprint into Sticky Wilds.

Supplier sources below. Operator eligibility needs a separate check.

Sticky Bandits: Wild Return by Quickspin revolves around three outlaw characters that can land as ordinary symbols or as massive blocks up to 3×3. The official page separates their base-game effect, their Free Spins effect and a small Quick Slot feature attached to reel five.

Massive bandits and Lucky Shot

During the Lucky Shot Free Spins Bonus, a bandit appearance fires a shot at a random symbol. A selected bandit becomes Sticky Wilds; another selected symbol becomes regular Wilds. The supplier specifies conversion of the whole selected massive bandit, not automatic conversion of every separate matching bandit elsewhere on the board.

That distinction matters: ordinary Wilds substitute on the current evaluation, while Sticky Wilds remain according to the feature rules. A large bandit graphic is not automatically a 3×3 Sticky Wild block in every game state.

Seven Free Spins

Three Scatters award seven Free Spins. During the feature, hitting a massive bandit converts its complete massive-symbol footprint into Sticky Wilds. At the largest documented size, that can create a 3×3 block.

Track the bandit’s actual size and occupied positions before the conversion. The animation can cover much of the board, but only the documented footprint determines the new Sticky Wild area.

Quick Slot on reel five

A Quick Slot symbol on reel five in the base game awards between one and three spins on the separate Quick Slot machine. Quickspin says this device can award up to 500× the bet in one spin; do not silently extend its published base-game trigger into Free Spins.

That is a stated feature maximum, not a promise of frequency or session result. The linked supplier sheet adds a reference RTP profile and a simulated maximum, discussed below. Neither identifies the active deployment’s RTP or contractual overall exposure, which must come from compatible live help.

The official provider page does not confirm that a New Zealand casino offers the game. Local access and the mathematical configuration remain operator-level checks.

Verified feature map

Quickspin confirms three bandit characters that can occupy normal positions or massive footprints up to 3×3. In the Lucky Shot Free Spins Bonus, a bandit appearance causes a random-symbol shot. A bandit target becomes Sticky Wilds and another target becomes regular Wilds. A hit massive bandit converts its whole footprint; separate matching objects are not automatically included by the published wording.

Three Scatters award seven Free Spins. In the bonus, a massive bandit hit converts the complete footprint into Sticky Wilds. The separately documented base-game Quick Slot symbol on reel five provides one to three device spins, with an award up to 500× bet in one spin.

The short HTML overview omits numerical model fields; its linked sheet supplies reference RTP and euro stakes plus a sampled maximum. Active operator RTP, contractual overall exposure and New Zealand availability remain deployment checks.

Massive-symbol footprint

Record the top-left coordinate, width and height of every massive bandit. A 3×3 symbol occupies nine cells; smaller massive forms occupy fewer. The artwork may overlap reel lines, so use the grid rather than the visible character outline.

In Free Spins, convert exactly the occupied footprint after the qualifying hit. Do not expand a 2×3 bandit into a 3×3 Sticky block merely because three is the published maximum size.

Lucky Shot paths

Within Free Spins, Lucky Shot has two documented outcomes based on the selected target. A bandit target becomes Sticky Wilds; a non-bandit target becomes ordinary Wilds. Save the actual selected object and converted coordinates, including the whole footprint of a hit massive bandit. Do not substitute an unverified board-wide matching-symbol rule.

The selection is random according to the product description; it is not a player strategy. The source does not publish probability by target, so avoid claims that one path is more likely.

Regular versus Sticky Wilds

Regular Wilds affect the current evaluation under the paytable. Sticky Wilds persist according to the applicable feature rules. Label them separately in screenshots and histories. A Wild created by a non-bandit Lucky Shot should not automatically be carried into later spins.

The live help should define duration, substitution exclusions and how multiple Sticky areas interact. The public overview explains the creation path but not every settlement edge case.

Seven Free Spins

Three Scatters give seven starting spins. Save the trigger grid and counter. The readable source does not publish a retrigger, so this article does not invent one. If the deployed version adds spins, capture the event and cite its own help.

For each feature spin, record existing Sticky coordinates, new massive bandit footprint and newly converted cells. Avoid recounting an already Sticky position when footprints overlap.

Quick Slot as a separate ledger

The documented Quick Slot trigger lands on reel five during base play and awards one, two or three auxiliary spins. Maintain a separate counter and record individual awards before returning to the main reels; those device spins are not extra Lucky Shot Free Spins.

Quickspin’s “up to 500× in one spin” is a feature ceiling, not an expected result, overall game maximum or frequency statement. It should never be multiplied by three to invent a guaranteed maximum sequence.

Worked footprint example

Suppose a 2×3 bandit occupies six cells in Free Spins and the qualifying hit occurs. Convert those six coordinates to Sticky Wilds. If a later 3×3 footprint overlaps four of them, only five additional coordinates are new even though the second character covers nine cells.

This explains set accounting, not a typical result. The actual board and paytable determine the settlement.

RTP and paytable verification

Open the live help for version, RTP, stakes, layout, lines or ways, bandit sizes, Lucky Shot targets, Sticky duration, Scatter rules and Quick Slot table. Do not import an RTP or maximum from a different Sticky Bandits title.

The public 500× device value does not reveal overall maximum exposure. Keep that field unavailable unless the version-specific source states it.

New Zealand scope

The provider’s global publication does not confirm real-money access for a New Zealand account. Check operator territorial terms, signed-in lobby and active game sheet. A media pack, demo or review screenshot is insufficient.

Payments, account verification and withdrawals are operator responsibilities. Do not bypass a geographic restriction.

Mobile and accessibility

Large character art must not hide the reel coordinates used to define its footprint. Regular and Sticky Wilds need different icons or text. Quick Slot counter and awards should remain legible without covering the main game history.

Test with reduced motion and sound disabled. After reconnection, compare Sticky map, remaining Free Spins, Quick Slot counter, round ID and balance with the server record.

Support evidence

Save title, provider, version, date, stake, currency, balances and round ID. For Lucky Shot, record selected symbol and converted cells. For Free Spins, record bandit dimensions and Sticky map. For Quick Slot, save trigger, spin count and per-spin awards.

Use authenticated support; never disclose passwords, one-time codes, private keys or seed phrases. Ask for the server event log when the animation and ledger differ.

Responsible-play perspective

A growing Sticky block can feel like guaranteed progress, but later wins remain uncertain. Do not raise the stake because a previous feature produced a large footprint or because the Quick Slot ceiling appears attractive.

Set money and time limits before play. Separate feature animation time from additional wagers and use a break if persistent symbols encourage chasing.

Common mistakes

Not every massive bandit automatically converts in base play. Lucky Shot treatment depends on the selected symbol. Ordinary Wilds are not Sticky. Seven is the verified starting Free Spins award, while 500× belongs to one Quick Slot spin rather than the whole game.

Local access, RTP and overall maximum remain deployment questions.

Board geometry worksheet

Use coordinates plus width and height rather than a single “massive” label. A normal bandit occupies one cell; a 2×2 occupies four; a 2×3 occupies six; and the documented 3×3 maximum occupies nine. Record the exact footprint before Lucky Shot or Free Spins conversion.

If a graphic extends beyond its cells, ignore the decorative outline. Only valid reel positions become Wild under the footprint rule. On mobile, the game history should expose those positions even if the character animation covers them.

Overlapping Sticky blocks

Represent Sticky positions as a set. When a later massive bandit overlaps existing Sticky Wilds, add only the coordinates that were not already present. This avoids reporting nine new Wilds where a 3×3 footprint contributes fewer new cells.

The live help should define how overlapping wins and symbol values settle. The public overview establishes persistence and footprint conversion but does not provide every overlap calculation.

Lucky Shot audit

Save the Free Spins board before the shot, the selected object and every converted coordinate. If a bandit is selected, verify its actual footprint, not every other object of the same identity. If another symbol is selected, label its resulting Wilds regular and do not carry them forward without a rule.

A large bandit appearing on the board is not proof that Lucky Shot selected it. The selection event and its visual indicator are the evidence.

Quick Slot reconciliation

Create a side ledger with trigger round ID, awarded spin count, device spin number, stake basis and result. Sum the device awards once, then compare the transferred total with the main-game feature balance.

The up-to-500× statement applies to one Quick Slot spin. It does not specify the chance, average or total for three spins. Avoid multiplying ceilings to advertise a theoretical number not published as the game maximum.

Free Spins state table

For each of seven starting spins, record remaining counter, existing Sticky set, massive bandit dimensions, new Sticky cells, ordinary Wilds and win. If the deployed game awards additional spins, note the exact trigger and cite its help; the public copy used here does not support an assumed retrigger.

When the feature ends, close the Sticky set. Do not carry it into base play or a later bonus unless the version-specific rules say so.

Paytable questions

The live game sheet should identify layout, paylines or ways, bandit symbol values, Lucky Shot eligibility, Sticky duration, Scatter treatment, Quick Slot table, RTP, stake range and overall exposure. A feature overview cannot settle a disputed payment without those fields.

If the operator offers several versions, record the one displayed in the session. Do not import values from Sticky Bandits Unchained, Trail of Blood or another title in the series.

New Zealand evidence standard

Local availability requires current operator terms accepting the relevant location, a signed-in catalogue entry and the matching game help. A Quickspin page or global demo alone does not satisfy that standard.

Do not bypass a location block. If the game disappears, ask whether the cause is maintenance, provider policy or account restriction and save the written answer.

Accessibility review

Sticky and regular Wilds need text or icons, not only different shades. Massive footprint boundaries must remain visible beneath the character. The Quick Slot counter should be announced independently from the main Free Spins counter.

With reduced motion enabled, Lucky Shot selection and conversion must still be understandable. Keyboard and touch access to history should remain available after a feature.

Lost-session recovery

Save the current Free Spin, Sticky set, pending Quick Slot spins, stake and round ID. Reopen from the authenticated lobby, wait for restoration and compare the server settlement before another wager.

An animation restarting does not prove a duplicate spin. Look for a new debit or round ID. Report mismatches with before-and-after evidence.

Reader decision

The title may suit readers who enjoy persistent spatial states and can track two connected games. It may not suit those who find overlapping blocks or side-machine counters confusing, or who chase visible progress.

Choose only after confirming the live version and setting a budget. A Sticky block increases Wild coverage under the rules but does not guarantee the next result.

Official source

One target object is not every matching outlaw

Consider an illustrative Free Spins history containing a massive bandit object M, spanning three adjacent reels and three rows, and a separate normal object N representing the same character elsewhere. Label M’s nine positions M1–M9 and N’s position N1. These labels are a hypothetical audit map, not a claim about the game’s complete grid or a played result.

Suppose the actual shot indicator selects M. The published massive-symbol rule converts the whole hit object, so M1–M9 form the new Sticky footprint. The sheet does not say that N1 also converts merely because the character matches. Record N’s observed post-shot state separately; if an active rule extends the selection, quote that rule rather than inventing it from identical artwork.

Conversely, if the shot selects a normal bandit N, do not assume it selected the nearby massive object M as well. A three-character cast is not a three-target quota. Nor do nine converted positions mean nine shots: a single massive object can supply nine cells through one documented whole-symbol conversion. Event count, object identity and occupied-position count are different fields.

Audit item Illustrative count What the count establishes
Selected massive object M 1 One target object, not every matching character
M’s occupied footprint 9 cells A 3×3 whole-symbol area
Separate normal object N 1 cell Its outcome requires actual selection/state evidence
Credited monetary award Not supplied Geometry alone gives no paytable result

For a non-bandit target, keep the resulting ordinary Wild category distinct from M’s Sticky map. The target category is published; how targets are scheduled when several bandits arrive together, substitution exclusions and persistence details still need active help. A rapid animation is not enough to infer a global conversion algorithm.

Reconciling the side device without creating extra bonus spins

Take a separate hypothetical base round that awards three Quick Slot spins. Suppose its device history reports 40B, 0B and 20B, where B is the exact bet basis identified by that history. The combined device credit is 60B. At an illustrative B of €0.50, it is €30.00, not three times the advertised 500B ceiling and not a guaranteed three-spin result. These numbers are arithmetic examples, not published symbol payouts or evidence of an accessible euro deployment.

Carry that credit into account reconciliation once. If the main ledger already includes the side total, adding €30 again would double-count it. Keep any paid-round debit separate before calling the settled amount a profit.

This device example belongs to base play. In a different Lucky Shot bonus, seven scheduled Free Spins do not become ten because a side machine can award three spins. If a hypothetical feature has six remaining before an ordinary consumed spin and no documented extension, its counter becomes five. A selected 3×3 bandit affects a footprint, not nine additional spins. Never connect these independent hypothetical rounds into a claimed trigger sequence.

Reference return arithmetic and its visible discrepancy

The linked sheet identifies wildreturn, volatility 4.4 on the supplier’s one-to-five scale, reference euro bets €0.20–€100 and a €1 default. Treat those as supplier-reference fields until the active operator help matches them, not as local availability or currency promises.

Its printed components are 48.13 percentage points for base play, 17.62 for the feature game and 30.48 for Free Spins. Adding them gives 96.23%, while the displayed total is 96.22%: a 0.01-percentage-point discrepancy. Preserve the printed total and the component arithmetic rather than silently replacing either. The document alone does not explain whether rounding or another error caused the difference.

The 1,145-times-bet maximum is labelled within a one-billion-spin sample, distinct from the explicitly stated 500B one-spin device ceiling. The sampled observation is not proof of a contractual whole-game cap. Neither return contributions nor the supplier volatility score predict a particular seven-spin bonus.

Putting the reference percentages into the same units

To see what the document discrepancy means, take an illustrative €200 of model-compatible paid-wager turnover, not a €200 deposit or a guaranteed session plan. Applying the printed 96.22% theoretical total gives €192.44 of theoretical return. Applying the sum of the printed components gives €192.46. The difference is two cents for that turnover because 0.01 percentage points is 0.0001 as a decimal, not 0.01.

Conditional arithmetic for €200 turnover Amount
Base contribution, 48.13% €96.26
Feature contribution, 17.62% €35.24
Free Spins contribution, 30.48% €60.96
Sum of displayed components €192.46
Printed total applied separately, 96.22% €192.44

These amounts interpret the printed model fields; they are not payouts promised for three separate sessions. Neither the document nor these calculations resolves which exact return an active operator build uses. In particular, the 17.62 contribution does not entitle each Quick Slot trigger to €35.24, and seven Free Spins do not promise the listed €60.96. Trigger frequencies and conditional feature distributions are absent.

Using the printed total conditionally, theoretical return minus turnover is −€7.56. That is not a maximum loss, an insurance guarantee or a budget recommendation: an actual finite session can differ sharply, and the supplier’s 4.4/5 volatility label supplies no numerical standard deviation for estimating a personal range. The paid-wager denominator must match the certified model before this arithmetic describes a deployment at all.

Free awards and credits also cannot be treated as new money put at risk merely because another animation spins. The base wager starts the record; the side-device awards and bonus awards enter the return ledger. If an interface debits a separate paid action, it needs its own actual debit entry rather than being inferred from the one-to-three device spin count.

Does 500B mean 500 times a prior device win?

The detailed supplier rule labels the ceiling against the bet, not against the previous device credit. If the accepted bet basis were €0.50, a 500B one-spin award would be €250.00, not 500 times an earlier €20 credit. This is unit conversion only, not an assertion that the maximum occurred or is likely.

Bottom line: separate Lucky Shot, bandit footprint, Sticky Wild conversion and Quick Slot into four auditable states.

How to verify the version you can actually open

A provider page proves that a title exists and describes the supplier's intended rules. It does not prove that a casino accepts players in New Zealand, that the title is enabled for a particular account, or that the highest published RTP is the version in the lobby. Treat availability, operator eligibility and product configuration as three separate checks.

Start with identity, then configuration

Open the game only through the authenticated casino lobby. The information or help panel should identify Quickspin, the exact title and the active mathematical return. Compare the reel or grid layout, paylines or cluster rules, named features and symbol behaviour with the official product material. Similar artwork or a matching title is not enough when the help file is missing or inconsistent.

When the supplier publishes several RTP values, report all of them as configurations. Do not assume the highest option is deployed. RTP is a theoretical long-run measure across a very large number of rounds; it is not a refund rate for one player and cannot predict the next result. Volatility is different: it describes how unevenly results are distributed on the provider's scale.

Read stake controls as money, not interface decoration

Provider sheets often quote a reference range in euros. That range does not establish New Zealand-dollar support or the limits in a specific account. Before a paid round, identify the total amount that will leave the balance. If the interface separates denomination, coins and lines, verify the combined total. If Extra Bet is active, calculate its full cost before pressing spin.

Feature-buy prices are multiples of the current bet, not promised returns. A 100x purchase at a $1 stake costs $100; at a $2 stake it costs $200. Availability can vary by market and some mathematical configurations may not support the control. If the live help does not explain the price, delivered feature and active RTP, leave the option unused.

Keep simulation figures in their proper scope

A game sheet may publish a maximum result observed in a large simulation. That is not automatically the contractual maximum payout and never describes a likely session. Preserve the provider's wording, sample size and configuration. Check the live rules for a binding cap and the operator terms for any separate payout limit. Do not turn an extreme result into a promotional headline.

Audit a disputed round

If an animation freezes or a connection drops, do not repeat the wager immediately. Reopen the game through the authenticated lobby and inspect round history. Record the time, total stake, balance movement and round identifier. The result can be settled by the gaming system even when the device never displays the final animation. Send evidence through verified operator support; never disclose a password, recovery phrase or one-time code.

Read the paytable as a calculation document

The paytable should explain what creates a win, which symbols substitute, where special symbols can land and how multiple awards combine. For line games, confirm direction and active paylines. For cluster games, confirm adjacency, minimum group size and the order of collection. For respins, identify what remains locked, what resets the counter and what ends the feature. A graphic effect can illustrate those rules but cannot replace them.

Separate addition from multiplication. Several prize values may be added before a multiplier applies, while reel-specific multipliers can sometimes multiply together only when each reel participates in the same win. Reconstruct one low-stake result from game history. If the arithmetic cannot be matched to the help file, stop and ask the operator rather than guessing.

Do not confuse hit frequency with a profitable round

Provider sheets can publish hit frequency or category probabilities. A hit simply means a round returned a qualifying amount; it can be smaller than the stake. “Big”, “Mega” or “Epic” thresholds are provider reporting categories, not promises. They are useful for comparing mathematical versions only when definitions and samples are the same.

Random outcomes do not become due after a long gap. A feature that appeared repeatedly in a demo or marketing clip has no obligation to repeat in a funded session. Previous rounds do not create a debt from the next random result.

Confirm market and device behaviour independently

A title can exist in the supplier catalogue while an operator disables it for a territory, currency, device or bonus. Language localisation is not evidence of legal availability. Confirm the operator's identity, accepted countries and current lobby separately from the provider review.

On mobile, verify that balance, total bet, feature state and help remain visible without overlap. On desktop, check that browser zoom does not hide a purchase control or change the apparent denomination. Mathematical configuration should not change merely because the screen changes; if the help shows another RTP, treat it as a different deployment and record it.

Keep a compact evidence record

For any fact used in a review, save the title, provider, official URL, document date when available, access date and exact territorial scope. For a live session, add the operator domain, Game ID, RTP, currency and a non-sensitive screenshot of the help panel. This makes later corrections possible when a supplier updates a sheet or an operator changes configuration.

Missing information should remain missing. Do not estimate an RTP from results, convert a euro reference range into an operator's NZD limit, or treat another casino's configuration as evidence. A transparent “not confirmed” is more useful than a precise-looking number without the correct source.

Use limits that survive the feature design

Collection meters, expanding grids, sticky symbols and near misses can make a session feel unfinished. Unless the rules explicitly preserve progress, the visible state has no value after the round or feature ends. Set a money limit and time limit before launch, count feature buys immediately, and stop at the limit even when a meter appears close to an upgrade.

No random game is an income plan. Do not borrow, use essential funds or raise the stake to recover a loss. If play stops feeling recreational, use timeout, deposit-limit or self-exclusion tools and consult the site's responsible gambling guide.

Primary source and correction path

This guide separates documented product information from market availability. Check the official source and the game help inside the exact version offered before making a decision.
