Primal Spirits — four colours, four multiplier records
Every upgraded gem adds to its own colour multiplier. The useful check is not one total: it is which colour changed, by how much and when.
Supplier sources below. Operator eligibility needs a separate check.

Primal Spirits by Quickspin is a 5×3, 25-line tumbling slot with symbol upgrades, colour multipliers and Free Spins. The short HTML omits numerical return, while its linked supplier sheet provides three reference models. Active game help must identify which, if any, matches the launched configuration.
Three supplier models, not one assumed operator return
The linked Primal Spirits sheet uses totemthunder identifiers. Do not replace them with an invented ID derived from the public title. All three panels give volatility 5/5 and euro stakes €0.25–€100, default €1; identical stakes do not make their return models identical.
| Supplier Game ID | Base contribution | Free Spin contribution | Printed total |
|---|---|---|---|
totemthunder |
64.07 | 31.95 | 96.02 |
totemthunder94 |
62.96 | 31.23 | 94.19 |
totemthunder87 |
58.67 | 28.47 | 87.15 |
The first two component sums match their totals. The third adds to 87.14, not its printed 87.15: a visible 0.01-percentage-point discrepancy. Preserve both fields without silently changing the published total or claiming a rounding explanation. These contributions are not probabilities of selecting a Totem colour, triggering Free Spins or collecting a particular multiplier.
The same panels record observed maxima of 8,623×, 8,469× and 7,621× respectively, each labelled in 100 million simulated spins. They are model observations, not confirmation of contractual operator caps or a schedule for encountering a large result. A provider PDF also does not prove a separate purchased-entry return; the exact purchased configuration still needs its own help or model evidence.
Tumbles and symbol upgrades
After a win, the winning symbols are removed and new symbols tumble into their places. The top Totem then checks for Enchanted Gems of its colour and upgrades matching gems into Spirit Animal symbols.
The Golden Totem is broader: Quickspin says it draws from all Enchanted Gems and releases all Spirit Animals. That distinction matters when auditing a result. Record the Totem colour, matching gems before the upgrade, the resulting animals and the next evaluation.
Each upgraded symbol adds one to the multiplier for that colour. Later wins involving symbols of the same colour use the current colour multiplier. The red, green, blue and purple records should therefore be kept separately.
Free Spins and persistent progress
Three, four or five Scatters award ten, fifteen or twenty Free Spins. The same Scatter counts inside the feature award another ten, fifteen or twenty spins.
Quickspin states that colour multipliers are progressive during Free Spins and do not reset between spins. The bonus therefore preserves colour-specific progress, while the base game should be checked as an individual tumble sequence.
The buy feature costs 150× the bet and produces a trigger with at least three Bonus Scatters where the option is enabled. Quickspin warns that the feature might not be available in all markets. Its presence in a provider sheet is not proof that a New Zealand casino offers it.
Practical session checks
Before a paid spin, open the help and record the game version, RTP, line stake and total bet. During a tumble, avoid pressing ahead until the complete upgrade and multiplier sequence has resolved.
On mobile, all four colour multipliers and the Free Spin counter should remain readable. A compact screen can make similarly coloured gems difficult to distinguish, so use the help legend and accessibility settings rather than relying on hue alone.
The provider’s theme language is presentation, not evidence of payout. The verifiable structure is the 5×3 layout, 25 lines, tumble process, upgrade rules, colour multipliers, Scatter awards and published 150× buy price.
Raven Rising uses a single progressive multiplier with different base and bonus speeds. The Quickspin guide covers active-version and availability checks.
Reading the 5×3 line grid
Primal Spirits uses five reels, three rows and 25 fixed lines. Record the original grid, total stake and line number for every award before the first tumble. Enchanted Gems and Spirit Animals need their colours identified as well as their symbol ranks.
Trace each combination against the live paytable. Keep the raw line subtotal separate from any colour multiplier. A win can involve one colour while another colour’s multiplier remains unchanged.
The complete paid round includes all tumble and upgrade states but should consume only one opening stake. Confirm that replacements and automatic Totem actions do not create extra ledger debits.
Tumble chronology
When a win settles, the winning symbols disappear and new symbols fall into their positions. Label the initial result P0 and later states P1, P2 and onward.
For every state record winning lines, removed cells, incoming symbols, active top Totem, upgraded gems and multiplier changes. Continue until the grid no longer wins and all automatic upgrades have resolved.
Do not apply a Totem upgrade to a gem that disappeared in the preceding win. The post-tumble grid determines which Enchanted Gems are available for conversion.
Identifying the top Totem
After a win and tumble, the top Totem controls the upgrade. Record its colour before scanning the board. Only Enchanted Gems matching that colour are upgraded by an ordinary coloured Totem.
Use a text label beside the screenshot rather than relying only on hue. Similar display colours, brightness settings or animation can make later review uncertain.
The Totem selection is a server event; the player does not choose the colour after seeing the grid.
Matching Enchanted Gems
Mark every Enchanted Gem of the active Totem colour on the post-tumble board. Save its coordinate and the Spirit Animal that replaces it.
Gems of other colours remain unchanged under the ordinary coloured-Totem rule. Do not upgrade all gems merely because several colours are visible.
After conversion, evaluate the new Spirit Animal grid for another line win. Any resulting tumble starts a new state with its own Totem check.
Golden Totem
The Golden Totem draws power from all Enchanted Gems and releases all Spirit Animals. Record every gem on the board by colour before conversion and every resulting animal after it.
The Golden action is broader than a coloured Totem but still acts on the current post-tumble grid. It does not recover gems removed by an earlier win.
Each converted symbol contributes to the multiplier for its own colour. Do not put all Golden-Totem upgrades into one universal multiplier.
One multiplier ledger per colour
Maintain separate red, green, blue and purple fields. When a symbol of one colour upgrades, increase only that colour’s value by one for each upgraded symbol.
For example, three upgraded green gems add three to green while red, blue and purple remain as shown. The example explains bookkeeping and does not predict an actual grid.
Store values before and after every upgrade so later wins can be checked against the correct current multiplier.
Applying a colour multiplier
All subsequent wins on symbols of a colour use that colour’s current multiplier. Record the winning symbol colour, raw line subtotal, current multiplier and resulting award.
Do not apply the highest of the four multipliers to every win. The symbol colour selects the relevant ledger. If one grid contains wins of different colours, calculate and record them separately according to the server history.
An upgraded Spirit Animal can contribute to a new win after conversion; it does not retroactively multiply the win that caused the preceding tumble.
Base-game multiplier scope
The public page explains progressive persistence specifically for Free Spins. For the base game, record colour values through the current tumble sequence and verify their reset on the next paid round from the live interface.
Do not assume bonus persistence applies to ordinary spins. Capture the closing colour values at the end of P states and the starting values on the next paid spin.
If the deployed help specifies a different base reset point, preserve that wording with the Game ID and date.
Three Scatters and ten Free Spins
Three actual Scatter symbols award ten Free Spins. Save their positions, the ten-spin counter and the opening values of all four colour multipliers.
Scatter counting is separate from line wins and Totem colours. Do not use a Wild, gem or animal as a missing trigger symbol unless the help explicitly identifies it as Scatter.
The feature begins with the multiplier state displayed by the server; do not import closing values from an unrelated base round.
Four Scatters and fifteen Free Spins
Four Scatters award fifteen Free Spins. Record all four coordinates and the opening counter. Do not combine this tier with the ten-spin award.
The longer schedule does not guarantee a particular Totem, number of upgrades or multiplier. Every change must be linked to its own spin and board.
Any retrigger later uses the same four-Scatter tier of fifteen additional spins.
Five Scatters and twenty Free Spins
Five Scatters award twenty Free Spins, the largest published starting tier. Save the full trigger grid and twenty-spin transition.
Twenty is the initial counter, not a promised number of winning spins. The progressive colour values grow only through documented upgrades.
Keep later retrigger additions in separate rows so the starting tier remains clear.
Persistent colour values in Free Spins
During the bonus, all colour multipliers are progressive and do not reset between spins. Record the four opening values for every Free Spin and verify they match the preceding spin’s closing state.
Only colours with new upgraded symbols increase. A spin with no green upgrade must not raise green merely because another colour changed.
At feature end, save the final four values for audit but do not carry them back to the base game.
Free Spins retriggers
Three, four or five Scatters inside the bonus add ten, fifteen or twenty spins. Record the trigger grid, tier and counter before and after the addition.
One settled count selects one tier; do not add ten and fifteen together for four Scatters. The current colour multipliers remain progressive through the continuing feature.
Retrigger spins are part of the same feature and should not consume a new paid stake.
Bought entry at 150×
Where enabled, the Buy Feature costs 150× the base bet and supplies at least three Bonus Scatters. Save the confirmation, total account-currency debit, active RTP and delivered trigger count.
“At least three” allows ten, fifteen or twenty starting spins according to the actual Scatter result. Do not force every purchase into the lowest tier.
The price buys entry, not a 150× minimum return. Availability varies by market and must be checked in the live account.
Natural and purchased triggers
A natural trigger begins with one ordinary spin debit and three to five Scatters. A bought trigger begins with the 150× confirmation. Label the route in the feature record.
Once Free Spins start, the same Totem, upgrade and persistence checks apply. The evidence proving entry remains different.
Do not use provider-level availability to claim that a New Zealand casino enables feature purchase.
RTP evidence
The abbreviated HTML omits numerical return, while the linked sheet supplies the three reference profiles above. Record RTP and Game ID from deployed help and compare them with that reference. If the actual profile is not exposed, leave the operator configuration unconfirmed rather than selecting the highest supplier total.
Do not copy the 87%, 94% or 96% values from Raven Rising simply because both games are by Quickspin. Product math is title-specific.
RTP does not predict the colour of the next Totem or the number of gems converted in a session.
Complete state worksheet
Use columns for round ID, stake, RTP, state, winning lines, removed symbols, Totem, gem coordinates, converted animals, red multiplier, green multiplier, blue multiplier, purple multiplier and award.
For Free Spins add counter, Scatter retrigger and entry route. For each colour win, store raw subtotal and applied multiplier separately.
At completion, reconcile all multiplied state awards with the server total and account ledger credit.
Worked coloured-Totem sequence
Suppose a tumble leaves two blue Enchanted Gems and the top Totem is blue. Record both coordinates, convert them to blue Spirit Animals and raise only the blue ledger by two.
If the new animals create a line win, apply the updated blue multiplier to that result, remove the winners and begin another tumble state. A later red Totem affects red gems and red multiplier independently.
The example explains order only and supplies no fictional frequency, symbol value or payout.
Worked Golden-Totem sequence
Suppose the post-tumble grid contains one gem of each of three colours and the Golden Totem activates. Record all three conversions and add one to each corresponding colour multiplier.
Evaluate new wins by symbol colour using their newly updated ledgers. Do not combine the three increments into a single ×3 multiplier.
Preserve the before-and-after grid because the final animals alone do not reveal which gems produced the increases.
Mobile presentation
On a phone, all five reels, three rows, top Totem and four multiplier values should remain visible. Use labels or icons in addition to colour for accessibility.
During Free Spins, keep the counter and persistent values on screen together. Completed history should show upgrades that fast animations can otherwise hide.
A decorative theme panel is not evidence of a conversion; the state grid and history determine the result.
Support evidence package
Provide title, Game ID, RTP, stake, round ID and each tumble grid. Add Totem colour, matching gems, converted animals, four multiplier transitions and line subtotals.
For Free Spins include entry type, starting counter and every retrigger. For a buy, attach the 150× confirmation and debit. Passwords and wallet secrets are unnecessary.
Source and market scope
Quickspin’s page supports the 25-line layout, tumbles, Totems, colour upgrades, trigger table and buy price. It does not establish a New Zealand casino listing, NZD stake range or local purchase availability.
The fantasy-canyon hero is original editorial artwork rather than a reel screenshot. Use the official source and deployed history for factual calculation and date every operator check.
Closing reconciliation for four colours
Before closing a paid round, compare the opening and final value of every colour multiplier. Each increase must link to a specific Enchanted Gem that the active Totem converted. If the Golden Totem acted, map every converted gem to its own colour ledger rather than grouping them under gold.
Next compare every winning line with the multiplier for that symbol colour at the moment the award settled. An upgrade created after an earlier win cannot be applied retrospectively to that earlier subtotal. Likewise, a colour value increased during one tumble must be available to later tumbles in the same documented sequence.
For Free Spins, verify continuity between rows: the closing red, green, blue and purple values from one spin must match the opening values on the next unless the game history records a change. Add retriggered spins to the counter without resetting the four ledgers.
Finally, sum the state-level multiplied awards and compare the result with the server feature total and account ledger credit. Confirm that tumbles, Totem conversions and retriggered spins did not consume extra ordinary stakes. Preserve the original grids, Game ID and timestamp so each multiplier change can be tied to the exact deployed version.
Distinguishing a gem from its released animal
Keep the Enchanted Gem and resulting Spirit Animal as two states of one position, not two simultaneously paying symbols. The gem exists before the Totem action; the animal replaces it after conversion. When the animal contributes to a later win, link that award to the post-upgrade grid.
This distinction is especially important after a Golden Totem, when several colours can change together. Count each converted cell once, add one to the matching colour ledger, and remove the original gem from the current board. A final screenshot containing only animals cannot prove which colours or how many gems were present before the effect, so retain both states in the round record.
Mixed-colour arithmetic with explicit assumptions
Suppose a verified bonus state displays red 2, green 5, blue 3 and purple 1. These are hypothetical current values, not a claim about starting multipliers. The history then records one red gem and two blue gems upgraded in separate completed Totem actions. The closing ledgers are red 3, green 5, blue 5 and purple 1. Green’s unchanged value is essential: another colour’s progress does not increase it.
For a later evaluation, assume the deployed paytable and accepted line records establish a red subtotal of 0.4 base bets and a blue subtotal of 0.8 base bets, both before colour multiplication. Red produces 0.4 × 3 = 1.2 base bets; blue produces 0.8 × 5 = 4.0. Their combined credited basis is 5.2 base bets, subject to the actual settlement rules and limits. At an illustrative base bet of 0.50 account-currency units, that is 2.60 units, not an observed game result.
Using the highest displayed value for both colours would instead give (0.4 + 0.8) × 5 = 6.0 base bets, overstating the example by 0.8 base bets, or 0.40 units at that illustrative stake. Multiplying by red and blue together would be another error: the published colour rule is not a product of every visible ledger. If the raw server amounts already include the colour effect, no further multiplication should be applied.
Now consider a later Golden Totem with one red, two green and one purple gem on the current board, and no blue gems. Using the preceding closing state, the new values become red 4, green 7, blue 5 and purple 2. Four conversions create four colour-specific increments, not four added to every ledger. The untouched blue value remains 5 despite the Golden animation. A gem removed before that post-tumble state cannot be added back into the conversion count.
Free Spin duration is a separate record. If two scheduled spins remain before one is consumed and four Scatters then supply the published fifteen-spin retrigger, the illustrative remaining counter is 2 − 1 + 15 = 16. It is not 2 + 10 + 15, because one Scatter count selects one tier; nor does the retrigger reset those four multiplier values. The counter records future scheduled spins, while the colour ledgers record the current multiplier state. Neither by itself proves the value of an unplayed spin.

Bottom line: audit Primal Spirits by colour and sequence, not by treating every upgrade as one shared multiplier.
How to verify the version you can actually open
A provider page proves that a title exists and describes the supplier's intended rules. It does not prove that a casino accepts players in New Zealand, that the title is enabled for a particular account, or that the highest published RTP is the version in the lobby. Treat availability, operator eligibility and product configuration as three separate checks.
Start with identity, then configuration
Open the game only through the authenticated casino lobby. The information or help panel should identify Quickspin, the exact title and the active mathematical return. Compare the reel or grid layout, paylines or cluster rules, named features and symbol behaviour with the official product material. Similar artwork or a matching title is not enough when the help file is missing or inconsistent.
When the supplier publishes several RTP values, report all of them as configurations. Do not assume the highest option is deployed. RTP is a theoretical long-run measure across a very large number of rounds; it is not a refund rate for one player and cannot predict the next result. Volatility is different: it describes how unevenly results are distributed on the provider's scale.
Read stake controls as money, not interface decoration
Provider sheets often quote a reference range in euros. That range does not establish New Zealand-dollar support or the limits in a specific account. Before a paid round, identify the total amount that will leave the balance. If the interface separates denomination, coins and lines, verify the combined total. If Extra Bet is active, calculate its full cost before pressing spin.
Feature-buy prices are multiples of the current bet, not promised returns. A 100x purchase at a $1 stake costs $100; at a $2 stake it costs $200. Availability can vary by market and some mathematical configurations may not support the control. If the live help does not explain the price, delivered feature and active RTP, leave the option unused.
Keep simulation figures in their proper scope
A game sheet may publish a maximum result observed in a large simulation. That is not automatically the contractual maximum payout and never describes a likely session. Preserve the provider's wording, sample size and configuration. Check the live rules for a binding cap and the operator terms for any separate payout limit. Do not turn an extreme result into a promotional headline.
Audit a disputed round
If an animation freezes or a connection drops, do not repeat the wager immediately. Reopen the game through the authenticated lobby and inspect round history. Record the time, total stake, balance movement and round identifier. The result can be settled by the gaming system even when the device never displays the final animation. Send evidence through verified operator support; never disclose a password, recovery phrase or one-time code.
Read the paytable as a calculation document
The paytable should explain what creates a win, which symbols substitute, where special symbols can land and how multiple awards combine. For line games, confirm direction and active paylines. For cluster games, confirm adjacency, minimum group size and the order of collection. For respins, identify what remains locked, what resets the counter and what ends the feature. A graphic effect can illustrate those rules but cannot replace them.
Separate addition from multiplication. Several prize values may be added before a multiplier applies, while reel-specific multipliers can sometimes multiply together only when each reel participates in the same win. Reconstruct one low-stake result from game history. If the arithmetic cannot be matched to the help file, stop and ask the operator rather than guessing.
Do not confuse hit frequency with a profitable round
Provider sheets can publish hit frequency or category probabilities. A hit simply means a round returned a qualifying amount; it can be smaller than the stake. “Big”, “Mega” or “Epic” thresholds are provider reporting categories, not promises. They are useful for comparing mathematical versions only when definitions and samples are the same.
Random outcomes do not become due after a long gap. A feature that appeared repeatedly in a demo or marketing clip has no obligation to repeat in a funded session. Previous rounds do not create a debt from the next random result.
Confirm market and device behaviour independently
A title can exist in the supplier catalogue while an operator disables it for a territory, currency, device or bonus. Language localisation is not evidence of legal availability. Confirm the operator's identity, accepted countries and current lobby separately from the provider review.
On mobile, verify that balance, total bet, feature state and help remain visible without overlap. On desktop, check that browser zoom does not hide a purchase control or change the apparent denomination. Mathematical configuration should not change merely because the screen changes; if the help shows another RTP, treat it as a different deployment and record it.
Keep a compact evidence record
For any fact used in a review, save the title, provider, official URL, document date when available, access date and exact territorial scope. For a live session, add the operator domain, Game ID, RTP, currency and a non-sensitive screenshot of the help panel. This makes later corrections possible when a supplier updates a sheet or an operator changes configuration.
Missing information should remain missing. Do not estimate an RTP from results, convert a euro reference range into an operator's NZD limit, or treat another casino's configuration as evidence. A transparent “not confirmed” is more useful than a precise-looking number without the correct source.
Use limits that survive the feature design
Collection meters, expanding grids, sticky symbols and near misses can make a session feel unfinished. Unless the rules explicitly preserve progress, the visible state has no value after the round or feature ends. Set a money limit and time limit before launch, count feature buys immediately, and stop at the limit even when a meter appears close to an upgrade.
No random game is an income plan. Do not borrow, use essential funds or raise the stake to recover a loss. If play stops feeling recreational, use timeout, deposit-limit or self-exclusion tools and consult the site's responsible gambling guide.
Primary source and correction path
This guide separates documented product information from market availability. Check the official source and the game help inside the exact version offered before making a decision.
