Zombie Outbreak is PG Soft catalogue ID 1635221, code zombie-outbrk. The checked English rules file is version 1.0 r2, updated 8 July 2025. It uses an uneven five-reel collapsing layout and Expanding Wilds that contain three multiplier values collected in order.

Official sources differ slightly: r2 reports 96.76% RTP, while the current catalogue reports 96.75%. Both show high volatility and a 5,000× maximum. Loaded Help must identify the configuration actually supplied.

The PDF allocates 69.99 percentage points of RTP to the main game and 26.77 to Free Spins. Those components belong to the 96.76% r2 model and should not be combined with the catalogue’s 96.75% total.

The 1,600-way reel shape

Reels one, three and five show four rows; reels two and four show five. Wins use adjacent-reel ways, then winning symbols disappear and new symbols cascade. The extra positions on even reels do not create fixed paylines.

Wild substitutes for paying symbols except Scatter and appears on reels two and four only. Those are also the reels where a Wild transforms into the feature’s full-height Expanding Wild.

Map the layout as 4-5-4-5-4 before counting a result. A screenshot cropped to four rows can hide the fifth position and make the way count impossible to reconstruct.

Three multiplier values inside each Wild

When a Wild lands on reel two or four, it expands and reveals one of five ordered sets: 1/2/3, 2/3/5, 3/5/12, 5/10/15 or 10/15/25. Before a win is paid, the lowest remaining value from each Expanding Wild is collected at the bottom of the reels.

The Wild stays until the spin ends or all three values have been collected. A later cascade can therefore collect the second and then third value. Collection follows ascending order because the rules explicitly choose the lowest remaining value.

If two Expanding Wilds are active, record each three-number set separately and then the value taken from each at that cascade. Do not merge the six values into one list or skip to the largest number.

Multiplier settlement

After collection, wins are multiplied by the value displayed at the bottom of the reels. The extracted rules refer to the collected bottom value, so the loaded interface should be captured to show how simultaneous Wild contributions are combined. Do not assume addition or multiplication between two Wilds without that screen.

A strong evidence sequence contains the initial sets, the lowest values removed, the bottom indicator, the underlying symbol win and the final credited amount. Each cascade needs its own frame because the next values change.

Free Spins retain collected values

Three Scatters anywhere award 15 free spins; each additional Scatter adds two. During Free Spins, collected multipliers remain until the feature ends, and the feature can retrigger.

Persistence changes the evidence requirement. Begin with an empty or shown starting counter, then record every collected value and the updated total after each free spin. Capture the remaining-spin counter when extra Scatters land. A large late-feature factor cannot be checked from one screenshot without this trail.

The r2 rules also document a Feature Buy menu, but not a universal purchase price. Availability, currency, price and any associated RTP must be read from the active client.

RTP conflict, stakes and cap

The 0.01-point discrepancy may reflect a catalogue revision or alternate approved setting. It should not be called an error without supplier confirmation. The accurate statement is that two official sources differ.

The PDF lists default EUR stakes between €0.20 and €100. These are reference values, not NZD limits. The total round ends at 5,000× the bet, including cascades and feature multipliers.

Mobile and interrupted sequences

PG Soft lists mobile and desktop platforms with a portrait reference of 1080×2340. On a phone, verify the fifth cells on reels two and four, all three values inside each Wild, the bottom multiplier, stake, remaining spins and history.

If connectivity fails during a cascade, reopen history before starting another round. Save the last collected value and server settlement; do not infer the missing visual transition.

Demo and NZ boundary

The catalogue’s supplier launch route is separate from the sponsored CTA on this page, which is not labelled as a Zombie Outbreak demo. Preview access can change.

No official source checked here confirms a New Zealand operator or 22Bet deployment. Authenticated lobby access must be verified separately.

Who may prefer the mechanic

The title may suit readers who enjoy persistent state and can track three ordered values per Wild. It may be a poor match for someone wanting equal-height reels, low volatility or a single uncontested RTP figure. The horror theme does not change the underlying financial risk.

Worked Wild ledger across a collapse sequence

Assume an Expanding Wild appears on reel two with the visible set 2×, 3× and 5×. The rule consumes the lowest remaining value first, so the first qualifying collection uses 2×. If another collapse continues the same spin and the Wild remains relevant, the next available value is 3×, followed by 5×. The three figures are a sequence of available values, not a single 30× product and not a choice menu.

A clean record starts with the reel number and complete value set. After every collapse, cross out only the value the interface actually collects and note the underlying ways win before multiplication. If all three values are used, or the spin otherwise ends, the Wild no longer carries unused state into an ordinary next spin. That distinction matters because the animation can make a persistent symbol look like a permanent account feature when it is only persistent within the current sequence.

Different preset sets require the same method. A 10×, 15× and 25× Wild should still pay in ascending remaining order under the documented rule; seeing the 25× label does not mean it applies first. If Expanding Wilds appear on both eligible reels, preserve each reel as a separate ledger rather than merging their labels. The history and Help screen, not a visual estimate, determine how multiple relevant values combine in a particular award.

Free Spins change the boundary by retaining collected multipliers for the feature. Three Scatters award 15 spins and each extra Scatter adds two. During that mode, mark the feature bank before a spin, new values collected during its collapses and the bank afterward. This reveals whether a later award uses previously collected state. It also makes a reconnection easier to verify when the resumed animation begins after one or more collapses have already settled.

The 5,000× cap remains separate from every Wild label. It limits the total documented award and does not predict how often a Wild appears. Likewise, the 96.76% figure in the versioned PDF and 96.75% current catalogue listing are source evidence that should be disclosed, not silently averaged. The loaded Help value is the decisive local setting for a real session.

Feature Buy is documented in the reference rules, but no universal price is established by that fact. Confirm its displayed cost, currency, RTP and territory in the loaded client before treating it as available. A catalogue feature and an operator offer are different pieces of evidence.

  1. Match ID 1635221 and code zombie-outbrk.
  2. Capture loaded RTP and version.
  3. Draw the 4-5-4-5-4 grid.
  4. Record each Expanding Wild’s complete three-value set.
  5. Mark the lowest value collected at every cascade.
  6. During Free Spins, preserve the persistent counter and retriggers.
  7. Save stake, round ID and settlement.

How to verify the version you can actually open

A provider page proves that a title exists and describes the supplier's intended rules. It does not prove that a casino accepts players in New Zealand, that the title is enabled for a particular account, or that the highest published RTP is the version in the lobby. Treat availability, operator eligibility and product configuration as three separate checks.

Start with identity, then configuration

Open the game only through the authenticated casino lobby. The information or help panel should identify PG Soft, the exact title and the active mathematical return. Compare the reel or grid layout, paylines or cluster rules, named features and symbol behaviour with the official product material. Similar artwork or a matching title is not enough when the help file is missing or inconsistent.

When the supplier publishes several RTP values, report all of them as configurations. Do not assume the highest option is deployed. RTP is a theoretical long-run measure across a very large number of rounds; it is not a refund rate for one player and cannot predict the next result. Volatility is different: it describes how unevenly results are distributed on the provider's scale.

Read stake controls as money, not interface decoration

Provider sheets often quote a reference range in euros. That range does not establish New Zealand-dollar support or the limits in a specific account. Before a paid round, identify the total amount that will leave the balance. If the interface separates denomination, coins and lines, verify the combined total. If Extra Bet is active, calculate its full cost before pressing spin.

Feature-buy prices are multiples of the current bet, not promised returns. A 100x purchase at a $1 stake costs $100; at a $2 stake it costs $200. Availability can vary by market and some mathematical configurations may not support the control. If the live help does not explain the price, delivered feature and active RTP, leave the option unused.

Keep simulation figures in their proper scope

A game sheet may publish a maximum result observed in a large simulation. That is not automatically the contractual maximum payout and never describes a likely session. Preserve the provider's wording, sample size and configuration. Check the live rules for a binding cap and the operator terms for any separate payout limit. Do not turn an extreme result into a promotional headline.

Audit a disputed round

If an animation freezes or a connection drops, do not repeat the wager immediately. Reopen the game through the authenticated lobby and inspect round history. Record the time, total stake, balance movement and round identifier. The result can be settled by the gaming system even when the device never displays the final animation. Send evidence through verified operator support; never disclose a password, recovery phrase or one-time code.

Read the paytable as a calculation document

The paytable should explain what creates a win, which symbols substitute, where special symbols can land and how multiple awards combine. For line games, confirm direction and active paylines. For cluster games, confirm adjacency, minimum group size and the order of collection. For respins, identify what remains locked, what resets the counter and what ends the feature. A graphic effect can illustrate those rules but cannot replace them.

Separate addition from multiplication. Several prize values may be added before a multiplier applies, while reel-specific multipliers can sometimes multiply together only when each reel participates in the same win. Reconstruct one low-stake result from game history. If the arithmetic cannot be matched to the help file, stop and ask the operator rather than guessing.

Do not confuse hit frequency with a profitable round

Provider sheets can publish hit frequency or category probabilities. A hit simply means a round returned a qualifying amount; it can be smaller than the stake. “Big”, “Mega” or “Epic” thresholds are provider reporting categories, not promises. They are useful for comparing mathematical versions only when definitions and samples are the same.

Random outcomes do not become due after a long gap. A feature that appeared repeatedly in a demo or marketing clip has no obligation to repeat in a funded session. Previous rounds do not create a debt from the next random result.

Confirm market and device behaviour independently

A title can exist in the supplier catalogue while an operator disables it for a territory, currency, device or bonus. Language localisation is not evidence of legal availability. Confirm the operator's identity, accepted countries and current lobby separately from the provider review.

On mobile, verify that balance, total bet, feature state and help remain visible without overlap. On desktop, check that browser zoom does not hide a purchase control or change the apparent denomination. Mathematical configuration should not change merely because the screen changes; if the help shows another RTP, treat it as a different deployment and record it.

Keep a compact evidence record

For any fact used in a review, save the title, provider, official URL, document date when available, access date and exact territorial scope. For a live session, add the operator domain, Game ID, RTP, currency and a non-sensitive screenshot of the help panel. This makes later corrections possible when a supplier updates a sheet or an operator changes configuration.

Missing information should remain missing. Do not estimate an RTP from results, convert a euro reference range into an operator's NZD limit, or treat another casino's configuration as evidence. A transparent “not confirmed” is more useful than a precise-looking number without the correct source.

Use limits that survive the feature design

Collection meters, expanding grids, sticky symbols and near misses can make a session feel unfinished. Unless the rules explicitly preserve progress, the visible state has no value after the round or feature ends. Set a money limit and time limit before launch, count feature buys immediately, and stop at the limit even when a meter appears close to an upgrade.

No random game is an income plan. Do not borrow, use essential funds or raise the stake to recover a loss. If play stops feeling recreational, use timeout, deposit-limit or self-exclusion tools and consult the site's responsible gambling guide.

Primary source and correction path

This guide separates documented product information from market availability. Check the official source and the game help inside the exact version offered before making a decision.
