Yakuza Honor rules, reel multipliers and Wild awards
A source-led review of the 5×5 cluster grid, reel-specific multiplier sums, Yakuza increments, Free Spins persistence and an internal PG Soft document discrepancy.
Supplier sources below. Operator eligibility needs a separate check.

Yakuza Honor is PG Soft catalogue ID 1760238, code yakuza-honor. The checked English rules file is version 1.0 r6, updated 8 July 2025. It uses a 5×5 collapsing cluster grid with a separate multiplier under each reel.
The PDF and catalogue agree on 96.75% RTP, high volatility and a 2,500× cap. The same PDF is internally inconsistent about the initial Free Spins award: its cover says 15, while the detailed rule section and catalogue description say 12. This guide treats the detailed rule as controlling and tells readers to verify loaded Help.

Cluster wins and cascades
Four or more identical symbols touching horizontally or vertically form a winning combination. Diagonal contact alone does not count. After payout, winning symbols explode and new symbols fall into the empty positions; this repeats until no further group qualifies.
Wild substitutes for paying symbols but not Scatter. When reconstructing a cluster, label all 25 cells and connect only orthogonal neighbours. Keep each cascade as a separate frame because newly dropped symbols may form a different group and alter reel multipliers.
Five reel multipliers
At the beginning of a main-game spin, all multipliers beneath the reels are inactive. After a win is paid, each reel containing a winning symbol either activates its multiplier or increases an already active multiplier by one.
The next award uses the sum of multiplier values beneath the reels containing that winning combination. It does not multiply all five reel values together. If a cluster spans reels two, three and four with values 2, 3 and 1, the relevant factor is 6×. Reels outside the winning group are excluded.
This makes reel membership as important as cluster size. A useful audit shades every column touched by the winning group, writes its current value beneath it, and adds only those numbers. Save the grid before explosion because the next cascade may use a different set of columns.
Yakuza symbols add five
During a winning spin, each Yakuza symbol on a reel increases that reel’s multiplier by 5 before wins are paid. The rule is reel-specific. A Yakuza symbol on reel four does not automatically add five to every column.
Record how many Yakuza symbols appear on each reel, apply the +5 steps to those reel indicators, and then calculate the sum for the winning group’s reels. This order matters because the increment occurs before settlement.
Wild awards from group size
A winning group of five touching symbols awards one Wild at a random position after payout. Six touching symbols award two Wilds. Seven or more award three. Existing Wilds within the group do not count toward the size threshold.
The random Wild placement happens after the current win is paid and can influence the next cascade. Do not include the new Wild in the group that triggered it. Evidence should show the original counted non-Wild group, the number of awarded Wilds and their later positions.
Free Spins and the 12-versus-15 conflict
Section 2.6 says three Scatters trigger 12 free spins, with two more for each additional Scatter. It also says multipliers begin inactive, build using the same reel rules and persist until the feature ends. Free Spins can retrigger.
The cover and graphic summary say “15 free spins”, but the detailed rules and current official catalogue description say 12. Because source hierarchy favours the operational rule section over a cover slogan, 12 is used here as the documented rule. Nevertheless, the loaded in-game Help is the final checkpoint. Capture its spin count and version; if it shows 15, retain that evidence rather than forcing the r6 detail onto a different build.
The PDF also documents a Feature Buy menu without publishing a universal price. Any available cost, currency and associated RTP must be recorded from the active client.
Stakes and maximum settlement
PG Soft lists bet sizes 0.01, 0.1 and 0.5 across ten levels, producing default EUR stakes between €0.20 and €100. This identifies the reference configuration, not NZD limits.
The total award stops at 2,500× the bet. The ceiling includes cascades and multiplier effects. A high-volatility label describes the supplier’s session classification, not a guarantee that losses or wins will follow a particular sequence.
Mobile and history review
The supplier lists iOS, Android, HTML5, macOS and Windows, with portrait optimisation at 1080×2340. On mobile, ensure all five reel multipliers, the complete 5×5 grid, Free Spins counter, stake and history are visible.
If a connection fails during cascades, reopen history and record the final reel values plus settlement. A restored client may skip visual transitions. Do not rebuild missing random Wild positions unless history shows them.
Demo and NZ availability
The sponsored links on this page are not an official Yakuza Honor demo. The catalogue’s own launch route can be changed or restricted.
Global catalogue presence does not prove New Zealand deployment or availability through 22Bet. Confirm the authenticated lobby, local terms and loaded Help separately.
Who may prefer this mechanism
Yakuza Honor may suit readers who enjoy tracking state across cascades: the reel sums, +5 Yakuza steps and random Wild awards are individually auditable. It is less suitable for someone wanting fixed paylines, low volatility or a feature with completely unambiguous supplier marketing.
The internal spin-count conflict is itself a reason to check Help before play. Good editorial coverage should surface that uncertainty rather than select the larger number for promotional effect.
Source hierarchy for a conflicted rule
When one supplier file contradicts itself, the safest response is not to average the numbers. The operational section explains the trigger, extra-Scatter award, persistent multipliers and retrigger behaviour in one coherent rule. The cover is promotional summary copy. The current catalogue independently repeats 12 spins. That is why this page uses 12 while preserving the 15-spin claim as a documented conflict.
The loaded Help panel can still supersede both if it identifies a later build. A proper check captures the game code, version, RTP and trigger wording in the same session. A screenshot containing only the spin counter is weaker because it cannot show whether the operator loaded r6 or another revision.
Worked reel-sum method
Suppose a winning group occupies reels one, two and four. If their active values are 1, 3 and 6, the factor is 10×; reel three and five values do not participate. If a Yakuza symbol on reel four adds five before payment, update that reel from 6 to 11 and then sum 1 + 3 + 11. Keep the underlying symbol award separate from the factor. This example demonstrates calculation order only and does not reproduce a promised outcome.
Random Wilds belong to the next cascade state. For a five-symbol qualifying group, first settle the current award, then place the one awarded Wild where the client shows it. Including it in the original group would incorrectly change the trigger size and can lead to a false claim that two or three Wilds were owed.
Evidence checklist

- Map clusters using horizontal and vertical contact only.
- Record each active reel multiplier before summing.
- Apply Yakuza +5 increments to their own reels.
- Count non-Wild group symbols before random Wild awards.
- Capture whether loaded Help awards 12 or 15 initial free spins.

How to verify the version you can actually open
A provider page proves that a title exists and describes the supplier's intended rules. It does not prove that a casino accepts players in New Zealand, that the title is enabled for a particular account, or that the highest published RTP is the version in the lobby. Treat availability, operator eligibility and product configuration as three separate checks.
Start with identity, then configuration
Open the game only through the authenticated casino lobby. The information or help panel should identify PG Soft, the exact title and the active mathematical return. Compare the reel or grid layout, paylines or cluster rules, named features and symbol behaviour with the official product material. Similar artwork or a matching title is not enough when the help file is missing or inconsistent.
When the supplier publishes several RTP values, report all of them as configurations. Do not assume the highest option is deployed. RTP is a theoretical long-run measure across a very large number of rounds; it is not a refund rate for one player and cannot predict the next result. Volatility is different: it describes how unevenly results are distributed on the provider's scale.
Read stake controls as money, not interface decoration
Provider sheets often quote a reference range in euros. That range does not establish New Zealand-dollar support or the limits in a specific account. Before a paid round, identify the total amount that will leave the balance. If the interface separates denomination, coins and lines, verify the combined total. If Extra Bet is active, calculate its full cost before pressing spin.
Feature-buy prices are multiples of the current bet, not promised returns. A 100x purchase at a $1 stake costs $100; at a $2 stake it costs $200. Availability can vary by market and some mathematical configurations may not support the control. If the live help does not explain the price, delivered feature and active RTP, leave the option unused.
Keep simulation figures in their proper scope
A game sheet may publish a maximum result observed in a large simulation. That is not automatically the contractual maximum payout and never describes a likely session. Preserve the provider's wording, sample size and configuration. Check the live rules for a binding cap and the operator terms for any separate payout limit. Do not turn an extreme result into a promotional headline.
Audit a disputed round
If an animation freezes or a connection drops, do not repeat the wager immediately. Reopen the game through the authenticated lobby and inspect round history. Record the time, total stake, balance movement and round identifier. The result can be settled by the gaming system even when the device never displays the final animation. Send evidence through verified operator support; never disclose a password, recovery phrase or one-time code.
Read the paytable as a calculation document
The paytable should explain what creates a win, which symbols substitute, where special symbols can land and how multiple awards combine. For line games, confirm direction and active paylines. For cluster games, confirm adjacency, minimum group size and the order of collection. For respins, identify what remains locked, what resets the counter and what ends the feature. A graphic effect can illustrate those rules but cannot replace them.
Separate addition from multiplication. Several prize values may be added before a multiplier applies, while reel-specific multipliers can sometimes multiply together only when each reel participates in the same win. Reconstruct one low-stake result from game history. If the arithmetic cannot be matched to the help file, stop and ask the operator rather than guessing.
Do not confuse hit frequency with a profitable round
Provider sheets can publish hit frequency or category probabilities. A hit simply means a round returned a qualifying amount; it can be smaller than the stake. “Big”, “Mega” or “Epic” thresholds are provider reporting categories, not promises. They are useful for comparing mathematical versions only when definitions and samples are the same.
Random outcomes do not become due after a long gap. A feature that appeared repeatedly in a demo or marketing clip has no obligation to repeat in a funded session. Previous rounds do not create a debt from the next random result.
Confirm market and device behaviour independently
A title can exist in the supplier catalogue while an operator disables it for a territory, currency, device or bonus. Language localisation is not evidence of legal availability. Confirm the operator's identity, accepted countries and current lobby separately from the provider review.
On mobile, verify that balance, total bet, feature state and help remain visible without overlap. On desktop, check that browser zoom does not hide a purchase control or change the apparent denomination. Mathematical configuration should not change merely because the screen changes; if the help shows another RTP, treat it as a different deployment and record it.
Keep a compact evidence record
For any fact used in a review, save the title, provider, official URL, document date when available, access date and exact territorial scope. For a live session, add the operator domain, Game ID, RTP, currency and a non-sensitive screenshot of the help panel. This makes later corrections possible when a supplier updates a sheet or an operator changes configuration.
Missing information should remain missing. Do not estimate an RTP from results, convert a euro reference range into an operator's NZD limit, or treat another casino's configuration as evidence. A transparent “not confirmed” is more useful than a precise-looking number without the correct source.
Use limits that survive the feature design
Collection meters, expanding grids, sticky symbols and near misses can make a session feel unfinished. Unless the rules explicitly preserve progress, the visible state has no value after the round or feature ends. Set a money limit and time limit before launch, count feature buys immediately, and stop at the limit even when a meter appears close to an upgrade.
No random game is an income plan. Do not borrow, use essential funds or raise the stake to recover a loss. If play stops feeling recreational, use timeout, deposit-limit or self-exclusion tools and consult the site's responsible gambling guide.
Primary source and correction path
This guide separates documented product information from market availability. Check the official source and the game help inside the exact version offered before making a decision.
