Mythical Guardians: framed-symbol chains and verified RTP
A primary-source guide to the 243-way base grid, horizontal and vertical activation, stronger Free Spins rule and deployment checks.
Supplier sources below. Operator eligibility needs a separate check.

Mythical Guardians is PG Soft catalogue ID 1849515, code mythical-gdn. The current English rules document is version 1.0.r6, updated 29 January 2026. It describes a five-reel, four-row collapsing game where winning framed symbols can activate a row or reel and cause further framed transformations.
The documented configuration reports 96.76% RTP, medium volatility and a 15,000× maximum win. These settings belong to the supplier build; they do not prove access, currency or optional controls in a New Zealand account.

Base collapses and framed symbols
Framed symbols can appear on reels two, three and four. If one participates in a win, it becomes a Wild after winning symbols are destroyed. That Wild then activates eligible positions in the same reel or the same row around it.
Existing Wilds and Scatters are excluded from activation. Other activated cells transform into randomly selected ordinary symbols before new symbols cascade down. The result can create another win and another framed-symbol event.
If an activated position contains another framed symbol, it also becomes Wild and sends activation through its own row or reel. This produces a chain reaction; it is not a simple expanding Wild covering a rectangular block.
Main game versus Free Spins cross
In the main game, the wording uses the same reel or the same row around the transforming Wild. During Free Spins, the rule explicitly activates the same reel and the same row. The bonus therefore uses a stronger cross-shaped activation.
This distinction is easy to lose in generic summaries. A correct history review identifies the game mode before deciding which cells should have changed. Promotional footage from Free Spins should not be used to describe the base event.
Free Spins rules
Three Scatters award 10 Free Spins, and each additional triggering Scatter adds two. Free Spins can retrigger. The framed-symbol cross rule remains active throughout the feature.
When a framed symbol becomes Wild, all eligible cells in its row and reel activate. They change to randomly selected ordinary symbols before the next cascade. The randomness applies to replacements, not to the fact that eligible cells are activated.
The Wild substitutes for all ordinary symbols except Scatter and appears only on reels two through four. Newly transformed Wilds should remain identifiable in the history sequence so a reader can reconstruct the cross.
RTP, hit rates and volatility
The 96.76% theoretical return is a long-run model. PG Soft attributes 69.69 percentage points to the main game and 27.07 to Free Spins. Those values do not predict how one cluster chain will settle.
The overall hit rate is 24.57%, with 24.00% main and 0.57% feature. Medium volatility is the supplier’s category; the 15,000× ceiling remains a rare exposure boundary rather than a typical result.
Maximum and Feature Buy
The total is capped at 15,000× the bet amount. Reaching the cap ends the main spin or Free Spins even if a further transformation appears visually possible.
Version 1.0.r6 documents a Feature Buy menu. Its inclusion in the PDF does not confirm that the option is enabled, permitted or priced identically for New Zealand. Check the actual account and complete cost.
Mobile visual test
On a phone, a framed symbol must remain visibly distinct from a normal symbol before it transforms. The activation sweep should identify row and reel without depending only on colour, and all four rows must remain in view.
During Free Spins, verify that the stronger cross rule is explained in accessible help. Increase system text size and confirm the paytable, ways label, remaining spins and total stake do not overlap.
Mapping a chain reaction
Draw the 5×4 grid and label framed cells. When one wins, mark its new Wild, shade eligible row or reel cells and write the randomly selected replacements. If a second frame activates, start another colour or numbered step.
For Free Spins, shade both directions. Preserve excluded Wild and Scatter positions. The final diagram should reconcile each cascade with the credited awards and server history.
This method clarifies rule execution; it cannot predict which replacement symbols will be chosen or when the feature will trigger.
Evidence boundaries
The global catalogue does not confirm New Zealand availability, NZD stakes, 22Bet inclusion or bonus treatment. A supplier preview can show terminology, but it is not an authenticated operator deployment.
Match title, ID, code, version and live RTP. If the live rules describe different ways or activation wording, record the deployed build separately and send a correction.
Interpreting the 243 and 1,024 ways labels
The summary table describes the base configuration as 243 ways, while the paytable section carries a 1,024-ways heading. The feature can activate and replace positions across the four-row board, so the displayed ways context needs to be read from the live help and current state.
This review does not choose one number as universally active without that deployment evidence. Capture the base-game header, paytable heading and a transformed result. If the interface changes its ways count dynamically, record when the change occurs.
Search snippets that show only “1,024 ways” omit the base summary. A useful answer preserves both first-party references and explains the unresolved scope rather than selecting the larger number for marketing effect.
Main-game direction audit
For a base-game framed Wild, mark whether the animation activates its row or its reel. The PDF’s “or” wording does not establish that both directions always fire. If multiple framed symbols transform together, each can create its own directional path.
Number the activation waves. Positions changed by the first wave may contain another frame, causing a second. Record excluded Wilds and Scatters so an unchanged position is not mistaken for a rendering failure.
After random replacements appear, wait for the collapse before evaluating the next win. Replacement and falling-symbol phases are separate steps in the documented sequence.
Free Spins cross audit
In Free Spins, a transformed frame activates both its complete eligible row and reel. Draw the cross through that position and remove excluded cells. If another frame lies on the cross, trace its new cross as a separate wave.
The wider activation can produce a large visual change, but only final qualifying ways generate cash awards. Activated positions themselves are not prizes. History should connect replacements to the following evaluated board.
Extra triggering Scatters add two starting spins, while later Scatters can retrigger under the feature rule. Keep spin additions separate from the transformation chain.
Feature Buy and comparative cost
The purchased feature begins Free Spins at a displayed price. Compare that full cost with normal total bet; do not treat the button value as a deposit requirement or guaranteed return.
If an operator removes Feature Buy, the core random Scatter trigger remains the only documented entry route. An unavailable button is a deployment fact, not evidence that the supplier PDF is false.
Accessibility and motion
Rapid row-and-reel sweeps can be difficult for motion-sensitive users. Check whether animations can be reduced without hiding the final transformed board, and whether result history lists changes in text.
Frames need a shape or label beyond a subtle glow. On a four-row phone layout, contrast can fall when bright guardian effects cover the border. A screenshot taken after the effect settles is better evidence than the brightest animation frame.
Maintenance triggers
Revisit the article when the document revision changes, when a live account clarifies the ways labels or when the activation wording changes from “or” to “and” in the main game. Preserve old evidence with dates.
An artwork update or reordered catalogue card does not alter the rules and should not reset the factual review date by itself.
Final assessment
Mythical Guardians is defined by directional transformation: a winning frame becomes Wild, activates neighbours and can trigger another frame. Free Spins strengthen the pattern from one direction to a full row-and-reel cross.
The official evidence supports identity, reference mathematics and feature order. Local access, currency and Feature Buy remain unresolved until the active account is inspected.

How to verify the version you can actually open
A provider page proves that a title exists and describes the supplier's intended rules. It does not prove that a casino accepts players in New Zealand, that the title is enabled for a particular account, or that the highest published RTP is the version in the lobby. Treat availability, operator eligibility and product configuration as three separate checks.
Start with identity, then configuration
Open the game only through the authenticated casino lobby. The information or help panel should identify PG Soft, the exact title and the active mathematical return. Compare the reel or grid layout, paylines or cluster rules, named features and symbol behaviour with the official product material. Similar artwork or a matching title is not enough when the help file is missing or inconsistent.
When the supplier publishes several RTP values, report all of them as configurations. Do not assume the highest option is deployed. RTP is a theoretical long-run measure across a very large number of rounds; it is not a refund rate for one player and cannot predict the next result. Volatility is different: it describes how unevenly results are distributed on the provider's scale.
Read stake controls as money, not interface decoration
Provider sheets often quote a reference range in euros. That range does not establish New Zealand-dollar support or the limits in a specific account. Before a paid round, identify the total amount that will leave the balance. If the interface separates denomination, coins and lines, verify the combined total. If Extra Bet is active, calculate its full cost before pressing spin.
Feature-buy prices are multiples of the current bet, not promised returns. A 100x purchase at a $1 stake costs $100; at a $2 stake it costs $200. Availability can vary by market and some mathematical configurations may not support the control. If the live help does not explain the price, delivered feature and active RTP, leave the option unused.
Keep simulation figures in their proper scope
A game sheet may publish a maximum result observed in a large simulation. That is not automatically the contractual maximum payout and never describes a likely session. Preserve the provider's wording, sample size and configuration. Check the live rules for a binding cap and the operator terms for any separate payout limit. Do not turn an extreme result into a promotional headline.
Audit a disputed round
If an animation freezes or a connection drops, do not repeat the wager immediately. Reopen the game through the authenticated lobby and inspect round history. Record the time, total stake, balance movement and round identifier. The result can be settled by the gaming system even when the device never displays the final animation. Send evidence through verified operator support; never disclose a password, recovery phrase or one-time code.
Read the paytable as a calculation document
The paytable should explain what creates a win, which symbols substitute, where special symbols can land and how multiple awards combine. For line games, confirm direction and active paylines. For cluster games, confirm adjacency, minimum group size and the order of collection. For respins, identify what remains locked, what resets the counter and what ends the feature. A graphic effect can illustrate those rules but cannot replace them.
Separate addition from multiplication. Several prize values may be added before a multiplier applies, while reel-specific multipliers can sometimes multiply together only when each reel participates in the same win. Reconstruct one low-stake result from game history. If the arithmetic cannot be matched to the help file, stop and ask the operator rather than guessing.
Do not confuse hit frequency with a profitable round
Provider sheets can publish hit frequency or category probabilities. A hit simply means a round returned a qualifying amount; it can be smaller than the stake. “Big”, “Mega” or “Epic” thresholds are provider reporting categories, not promises. They are useful for comparing mathematical versions only when definitions and samples are the same.
Random outcomes do not become due after a long gap. A feature that appeared repeatedly in a demo or marketing clip has no obligation to repeat in a funded session. Previous rounds do not create a debt from the next random result.
Confirm market and device behaviour independently
A title can exist in the supplier catalogue while an operator disables it for a territory, currency, device or bonus. Language localisation is not evidence of legal availability. Confirm the operator's identity, accepted countries and current lobby separately from the provider review.
On mobile, verify that balance, total bet, feature state and help remain visible without overlap. On desktop, check that browser zoom does not hide a purchase control or change the apparent denomination. Mathematical configuration should not change merely because the screen changes; if the help shows another RTP, treat it as a different deployment and record it.
Keep a compact evidence record
For any fact used in a review, save the title, provider, official URL, document date when available, access date and exact territorial scope. For a live session, add the operator domain, Game ID, RTP, currency and a non-sensitive screenshot of the help panel. This makes later corrections possible when a supplier updates a sheet or an operator changes configuration.
Missing information should remain missing. Do not estimate an RTP from results, convert a euro reference range into an operator's NZD limit, or treat another casino's configuration as evidence. A transparent “not confirmed” is more useful than a precise-looking number without the correct source.
Use limits that survive the feature design
Collection meters, expanding grids, sticky symbols and near misses can make a session feel unfinished. Unless the rules explicitly preserve progress, the visible state has no value after the round or feature ends. Set a money limit and time limit before launch, count feature buys immediately, and stop at the limit even when a meter appears close to an upgrade.
No random game is an income plan. Do not borrow, use essential funds or raise the stake to recover a loss. If play stops feeling recreational, use timeout, deposit-limit or self-exclusion tools and consult the site's responsible gambling guide.
Primary source and correction path
This guide separates documented product information from market availability. Check the official source and the game help inside the exact version offered before making a decision.
