Mystic Potion rules, Big Symbol squares and multiplier bank
A source-led guide to five-symbol clusters, 2×2 symbol formation, multiplier collection after cascades, 15-spin persistence and verified limits.
Supplier sources below. Operator eligibility needs a separate check.

Mystic Potion is PG Soft catalogue ID 1717688, code mystic-potions. The checked English rules file is version 1.0 r5, updated 9 September 2026. It uses a 6×6 collapsing cluster grid where a specific 2×2 square of matching ordinary symbols can become a Big Symbol carrying a multiplier.
The PDF and current catalogue agree on 96.70% RTP, high volatility and a 10,000× maximum. These values do not prove New Zealand deployment, NZD stakes or operator availability.

Cluster wins on the 6×6 board
Five or more matching symbols touching horizontally or vertically create a winning combination. Diagonal contact alone does not count. Winning symbols explode, new symbols fall and additional groups are evaluated until no more wins remain.
Wild substitutes for paying symbols except Scatter. A correct reconstruction numbers all 36 cells and traces orthogonal connections. Keep each cascade as a distinct frame because Big Symbols and their collected values depend on whether they participated in the preceding win.
How a Big Symbol forms
Four matching ordinary symbols adjacent in an exact 2×2 square form one Big Symbol. Wild and Scatter are excluded from forming it. A row of four, L-shape or diagonal block does not meet the square condition.
The new Big Symbol receives a value from 2× to 500×. Its large appearance does not mean four independent symbols remain for payout purposes. The interface and paytable should show how it contributes to the winning cluster.
At the new round after symbols cascade, the multiplier from any Big Symbol involved in the previous win is collected. A Big Symbol that appears but does not participate in the paid group should not be added.
Square audit method
Mark the four source cells, verify they share one ordinary symbol and form two adjacent rows by two adjacent columns, then record the displayed Big Symbol value. On the next cascade, outline the winning group that includes it. Only after that group pays should its value enter the bottom collection area.
This order prevents three errors: treating diagonal cells as a square, counting Wild toward formation and collecting a multiplier from a non-winning Big Symbol.
End-of-spin multiplier settlement
At the end of the spin, the total win is multiplied by the total multiplier collected. The word “total” requires the loaded display when several Big Symbols contribute, because the extracted rules do not explicitly state whether simultaneous values are added in every visual presentation.
Record each collected value and the bottom total after every cascade. Keep the underlying cash win separate. A 500× possible Big Symbol value is not the same as the 10,000× maximum total settlement.
Free Spins persist the multiplier bank
Three Scatters anywhere trigger 15 free spins, and every additional Scatter adds two. Multipliers collected during Free Spins are added and remain beneath the reels until the feature ends. Free Spins can retrigger.
The persistent bank means a late free spin can use values earned earlier. Begin the log at the feature’s starting state, record each qualifying Big Symbol, new total and remaining-spin count. Without that chronology, a final screenshot cannot show which square generated each part of the bank.
Version r5 documents a Feature Buy menu but does not publish one universal price. If it appears, capture the cost, currency, RTP and territory terms before acceptance.
Stakes, cap and paytable limits
The PDF lists bet sizes 0.01, 0.1 and 0.5 across ten levels, producing default EUR stakes from €0.20 to €100. These reference numbers do not establish NZD limits.
When the total win reaches 10,000× the bet, the spin ends. That ceiling includes all cluster cascades and collected multipliers. The symbol-by-symbol paytable should be copied from loaded Help for any detailed dispute because extracted text does not preserve its visual values reliably.
Mobile and interruption checks
PG Soft lists iOS, Android, HTML5, macOS and Windows with a 1080×2340 portrait reference. On a phone, check that the complete 6×6 grid, Big Symbol value, bottom bank, remaining spins, stake and history remain visible.
If connectivity fails during a cascade, reopen history before another spin. Save the last settled bank value and credited balance rather than rebuilding missing animations from memory.
Demo and New Zealand boundary
The supplier catalogue may expose a preview route, but the sponsored CTA here is not an official Mystic Potion demo. Preview access can change.
The catalogue listing does not confirm a New Zealand-facing operator or 22Bet deployment. Authenticated availability and local terms require a separate check.
Who may prefer the mechanism
Mystic Potion may suit readers who enjoy geometric cluster conditions and persistent multiplier accounting. It may not suit someone wanting fixed paylines, low volatility or a simple one-stage bonus. The fantasy presentation does not change the high-volatility classification.
Worked board reading: cluster first, square second
Take a 6×6 result containing six matching leaf symbols connected edge to edge. That is a qualifying cluster because at least five identical symbols touch horizontally or vertically. A diagonal leaf can look close to the group but does not enlarge it unless another horizontal or vertical connection exists. Marking row and column coordinates is more reliable than counting by eye during a fast collapse.
Now consider four matching gem symbols occupying an exact 2×2 block. If they are ordinary symbols, the rules allow that square to form a Big Symbol carrying a value between 2× and 500×. Four gems arranged as a line, an L shape with a gap, or a diagonal pattern are not the documented square. Wild and Scatter are also excluded from forming it. The geometric test should therefore be completed before any multiplier value is added to a ledger.
Creation alone is not settlement. The Big Symbol’s value is collected when that Big Symbol participates in a winning cluster. If the surrounding collapse produces no qualifying connection, the visible value should not be counted as an award merely because it appeared. A useful capture includes the original 2×2 square, the Big Symbol after formation, the cluster in which it wins and the final history line. This sequence separates appearance from collection.
During Free Spins, collected values persist in the feature bank. Suppose a 12× value was banked on an earlier free spin and a later winning Big Symbol contributes 8×. The interface should be read as a 20× accumulated state after collection, not as 96× from multiplying the two values. Keep the underlying cluster win beside the bank before and after the event so the calculation remains reproducible.
The 10,000× cap controls the total result even if several large values are visible. It is not the same as the highest 500× Big Symbol value, and neither number describes expected frequency. Because the supplier classifies the game as high volatility, a short demo session cannot validate RTP. The correct audit checks layout, eligibility, collected values, persistent state and history against the versioned rules.

How to verify the version you can actually open
A provider page proves that a title exists and describes the supplier's intended rules. It does not prove that a casino accepts players in New Zealand, that the title is enabled for a particular account, or that the highest published RTP is the version in the lobby. Treat availability, operator eligibility and product configuration as three separate checks.
Start with identity, then configuration
Open the game only through the authenticated casino lobby. The information or help panel should identify PG Soft, the exact title and the active mathematical return. Compare the reel or grid layout, paylines or cluster rules, named features and symbol behaviour with the official product material. Similar artwork or a matching title is not enough when the help file is missing or inconsistent.
When the supplier publishes several RTP values, report all of them as configurations. Do not assume the highest option is deployed. RTP is a theoretical long-run measure across a very large number of rounds; it is not a refund rate for one player and cannot predict the next result. Volatility is different: it describes how unevenly results are distributed on the provider's scale.
Read stake controls as money, not interface decoration
Provider sheets often quote a reference range in euros. That range does not establish New Zealand-dollar support or the limits in a specific account. Before a paid round, identify the total amount that will leave the balance. If the interface separates denomination, coins and lines, verify the combined total. If Extra Bet is active, calculate its full cost before pressing spin.
Feature-buy prices are multiples of the current bet, not promised returns. A 100x purchase at a $1 stake costs $100; at a $2 stake it costs $200. Availability can vary by market and some mathematical configurations may not support the control. If the live help does not explain the price, delivered feature and active RTP, leave the option unused.
Keep simulation figures in their proper scope
A game sheet may publish a maximum result observed in a large simulation. That is not automatically the contractual maximum payout and never describes a likely session. Preserve the provider's wording, sample size and configuration. Check the live rules for a binding cap and the operator terms for any separate payout limit. Do not turn an extreme result into a promotional headline.
Audit a disputed round
If an animation freezes or a connection drops, do not repeat the wager immediately. Reopen the game through the authenticated lobby and inspect round history. Record the time, total stake, balance movement and round identifier. The result can be settled by the gaming system even when the device never displays the final animation. Send evidence through verified operator support; never disclose a password, recovery phrase or one-time code.
Read the paytable as a calculation document
The paytable should explain what creates a win, which symbols substitute, where special symbols can land and how multiple awards combine. For line games, confirm direction and active paylines. For cluster games, confirm adjacency, minimum group size and the order of collection. For respins, identify what remains locked, what resets the counter and what ends the feature. A graphic effect can illustrate those rules but cannot replace them.
Separate addition from multiplication. Several prize values may be added before a multiplier applies, while reel-specific multipliers can sometimes multiply together only when each reel participates in the same win. Reconstruct one low-stake result from game history. If the arithmetic cannot be matched to the help file, stop and ask the operator rather than guessing.
Do not confuse hit frequency with a profitable round
Provider sheets can publish hit frequency or category probabilities. A hit simply means a round returned a qualifying amount; it can be smaller than the stake. “Big”, “Mega” or “Epic” thresholds are provider reporting categories, not promises. They are useful for comparing mathematical versions only when definitions and samples are the same.
Random outcomes do not become due after a long gap. A feature that appeared repeatedly in a demo or marketing clip has no obligation to repeat in a funded session. Previous rounds do not create a debt from the next random result.
Confirm market and device behaviour independently
A title can exist in the supplier catalogue while an operator disables it for a territory, currency, device or bonus. Language localisation is not evidence of legal availability. Confirm the operator's identity, accepted countries and current lobby separately from the provider review.
On mobile, verify that balance, total bet, feature state and help remain visible without overlap. On desktop, check that browser zoom does not hide a purchase control or change the apparent denomination. Mathematical configuration should not change merely because the screen changes; if the help shows another RTP, treat it as a different deployment and record it.
Keep a compact evidence record
For any fact used in a review, save the title, provider, official URL, document date when available, access date and exact territorial scope. For a live session, add the operator domain, Game ID, RTP, currency and a non-sensitive screenshot of the help panel. This makes later corrections possible when a supplier updates a sheet or an operator changes configuration.
Missing information should remain missing. Do not estimate an RTP from results, convert a euro reference range into an operator's NZD limit, or treat another casino's configuration as evidence. A transparent “not confirmed” is more useful than a precise-looking number without the correct source.
Use limits that survive the feature design
Collection meters, expanding grids, sticky symbols and near misses can make a session feel unfinished. Unless the rules explicitly preserve progress, the visible state has no value after the round or feature ends. Set a money limit and time limit before launch, count feature buys immediately, and stop at the limit even when a meter appears close to an upgrade.
No random game is an income plan. Do not borrow, use essential funds or raise the stake to recover a loss. If play stops feeling recreational, use timeout, deposit-limit or self-exclusion tools and consult the site's responsible gambling guide.
Primary source and correction path
This guide separates documented product information from market availability. Check the official source and the game help inside the exact version offered before making a decision.
