Knockout Riches rules, stacking reel values and RTP
A practical guide to the three-round trigger, variable reel heights, end-of-sequence stacks, retriggerable Free Spins and source-backed limits.
Supplier sources below. Operator eligibility needs a separate check.

Knockout Riches is PG Soft catalogue ID 1881268, code knockout-rich. Version 1.0 r2 of the English information file was updated 8 July 2025. It uses collapsing reels with highly variable heights: reels one and five can show one to three rows, while the middle reels can grow from four to 20.
The checked configuration records 96.75% RTP, high volatility and a 10,000× cap. Its ways count ranges from one to 8,000, depending on the active reel dimensions and the feature state.

Collapses create rounds inside one spin
Winning symbols are removed and replacements fall into their positions. Each successful replacement forms another round inside the same paid spin. The sequence stops when no new win appears.
This distinction matters because the Stacking Symbols Feature requires at least three rounds. It is not triggered by three separately purchased spins, three symbols or three wins counted across sessions.
A useful record begins with the original stake and follows every collapse. The last board alone cannot demonstrate how many rounds occurred or why reel values changed.
The third round starts the stacking calculation
When a spin reaches three or more rounds, the Stacking Symbols Feature activates. At the end of round three, the counters above reels two, three and four are each set to one.
From round four onward, winning symbols on a middle reel increase that reel’s counter by the number of qualifying winners on it. If three winning symbols occur on reel three, its value rises by three. Each middle counter is capped at 20.
The counters do not themselves represent cash multipliers. They control how many copies of a chosen symbol can later be stacked on the corresponding reel.
Final stack construction
At the end of the spin, both outer reels transform into one randomly selected regular symbol. Wild and Scatter are excluded from that selection. Reels two, three and four are then filled with stacked copies of the same chosen symbol according to their recorded values before the final win is evaluated.
The middle reels can therefore hold different stack heights. A counter of 5, 9 and 2 produces those respective quantities, subject to the current reel capacity and rules display.
Do not multiply the three counters together and call the result a payout. The transformed board must still form qualifying ways and settle under the paytable.
Free Spins begin stacking immediately
Two Scatters appearing anywhere trigger five Free Spins. Every additional Scatter adds five more, and the feature can retrigger.
At the start, counters above reels two to four are set to one. Winning symbols on those reels increase the relevant counters throughout the feature; there is no need to wait until a fourth feature round.
When Free Spins finish, the outer reels transform into the chosen regular symbol and the centre reels receive stacks based on accumulated values. The feature’s final transformation is therefore the key settlement moment.
An extra Scatter changes the initial length materially: three Scatters award ten spins, four award fifteen. Capture the trigger board and opening counter so the awarded total can be reproduced.
Wild placement and ways
Wild substitutes for regular paying symbols but not Scatter, and appears only on reels two, three and four. It cannot be the regular symbol randomly selected for the final stack.
The range from one to 8,000 ways arises from changing reel heights. A low current ways count is not evidence of missing content; it can reflect the legitimate outer and middle dimensions of that state.
Paytable evaluation follows matching symbols on adjacent reels under the game’s ways rules. Count the final symbol positions rather than applying a fixed-line model.
RTP and hit-rate evidence
The 96.75% reference return is divided into 61.06% main game and 35.69% Free Spins. PG Soft’s simulated overall hit rate is 29.76%, with 28.93% main-game and 0.83% feature components.
A hit can return less than the amount staked. Neither the hit rate nor the visual size of a stack represents a chance of finishing ahead. High volatility indicates uneven short-session results.
The supplier also reports presentation frequencies for large-win labels. Those are not jackpots and should not be added to the 10,000× ceiling.
Feature Buy and the maximum
The PDF documents a Feature Buy menu for direct entry to Free Spins at the displayed price. No universal cost is printed in the information file, and availability may differ by operator or jurisdiction.
Before confirming, record the current base stake, purchase price and active RTP. A direct feature entry does not change the 20-value cap on centre counters or the overall maximum.
At 10,000× cumulative winnings, the main or feature sequence ends. The ceiling includes the final stacked-board settlement.
Mobile evidence
On a narrow screen, the three middle counters and variable reel heights must remain readable. Check that a large HMI overlay does not hide the top values when the middle reels reach greater heights.
Turn off Turbo when documenting a long collapse. The history record should show the paid spin and final result, while a screen recording can preserve how the counters accumulated.
If the session disconnects before the final stack, reopen the title and compare the completed round with the account ledger. Do not infer a missing win from an unfinished animation.
Practical fit
Knockout Riches suits players who enjoy a mechanic that converts a long cascade into one final constructed board. The counter system is inspectable and offers a clear reason to watch each middle reel.
It is less suitable for anyone wanting fixed dimensions or low volatility. A tall reel is potential symbol capacity, not a promised award.
The most important verification points are exact RTP, Feature Buy price, Scatter count and the final values above reels two to four.
How to reconstruct the final stack
The easiest way to audit a paid spin is to keep a small three-column log for reels two, three and four. The first two collapse rounds do not yet establish the final stack values. After the third completed round, each middle counter begins at one. From the fourth qualifying round onward, the game may increase those counters according to the documented event, but no counter can exceed 20. Record the value immediately after each collapse rather than only at the finish.
When the sequence ends, note which regular symbol was selected for the outer reels. The middle reels are then filled to the recorded heights, while the outer reels each show one instance of the chosen symbol. That board is evaluated with the displayed ways count; height alone is not a monetary result. A tall centre stack can still produce a modest settlement if the outer symbols do not connect as required.
This method also separates two experiences that can look similar. Free Spins begin from Scatter collection and retain their own counter behaviour, whereas the paid-game stacking event depends on reaching at least three collapse rounds within one paid spin. A Feature Buy, where offered in the loaded client, changes entry rather than the mathematical meaning of the final board. Capture its quoted cost before confirmation because catalogue evidence does not guarantee the same price in every configuration or currency.

How to verify the version you can actually open
A provider page proves that a title exists and describes the supplier's intended rules. It does not prove that a casino accepts players in New Zealand, that the title is enabled for a particular account, or that the highest published RTP is the version in the lobby. Treat availability, operator eligibility and product configuration as three separate checks.
Start with identity, then configuration
Open the game only through the authenticated casino lobby. The information or help panel should identify PG Soft, the exact title and the active mathematical return. Compare the reel or grid layout, paylines or cluster rules, named features and symbol behaviour with the official product material. Similar artwork or a matching title is not enough when the help file is missing or inconsistent.
When the supplier publishes several RTP values, report all of them as configurations. Do not assume the highest option is deployed. RTP is a theoretical long-run measure across a very large number of rounds; it is not a refund rate for one player and cannot predict the next result. Volatility is different: it describes how unevenly results are distributed on the provider's scale.
Read stake controls as money, not interface decoration
Provider sheets often quote a reference range in euros. That range does not establish New Zealand-dollar support or the limits in a specific account. Before a paid round, identify the total amount that will leave the balance. If the interface separates denomination, coins and lines, verify the combined total. If Extra Bet is active, calculate its full cost before pressing spin.
Feature-buy prices are multiples of the current bet, not promised returns. A 100x purchase at a $1 stake costs $100; at a $2 stake it costs $200. Availability can vary by market and some mathematical configurations may not support the control. If the live help does not explain the price, delivered feature and active RTP, leave the option unused.
Keep simulation figures in their proper scope
A game sheet may publish a maximum result observed in a large simulation. That is not automatically the contractual maximum payout and never describes a likely session. Preserve the provider's wording, sample size and configuration. Check the live rules for a binding cap and the operator terms for any separate payout limit. Do not turn an extreme result into a promotional headline.
Audit a disputed round
If an animation freezes or a connection drops, do not repeat the wager immediately. Reopen the game through the authenticated lobby and inspect round history. Record the time, total stake, balance movement and round identifier. The result can be settled by the gaming system even when the device never displays the final animation. Send evidence through verified operator support; never disclose a password, recovery phrase or one-time code.
Read the paytable as a calculation document
The paytable should explain what creates a win, which symbols substitute, where special symbols can land and how multiple awards combine. For line games, confirm direction and active paylines. For cluster games, confirm adjacency, minimum group size and the order of collection. For respins, identify what remains locked, what resets the counter and what ends the feature. A graphic effect can illustrate those rules but cannot replace them.
Separate addition from multiplication. Several prize values may be added before a multiplier applies, while reel-specific multipliers can sometimes multiply together only when each reel participates in the same win. Reconstruct one low-stake result from game history. If the arithmetic cannot be matched to the help file, stop and ask the operator rather than guessing.
Do not confuse hit frequency with a profitable round
Provider sheets can publish hit frequency or category probabilities. A hit simply means a round returned a qualifying amount; it can be smaller than the stake. “Big”, “Mega” or “Epic” thresholds are provider reporting categories, not promises. They are useful for comparing mathematical versions only when definitions and samples are the same.
Random outcomes do not become due after a long gap. A feature that appeared repeatedly in a demo or marketing clip has no obligation to repeat in a funded session. Previous rounds do not create a debt from the next random result.
Confirm market and device behaviour independently
A title can exist in the supplier catalogue while an operator disables it for a territory, currency, device or bonus. Language localisation is not evidence of legal availability. Confirm the operator's identity, accepted countries and current lobby separately from the provider review.
On mobile, verify that balance, total bet, feature state and help remain visible without overlap. On desktop, check that browser zoom does not hide a purchase control or change the apparent denomination. Mathematical configuration should not change merely because the screen changes; if the help shows another RTP, treat it as a different deployment and record it.
Keep a compact evidence record
For any fact used in a review, save the title, provider, official URL, document date when available, access date and exact territorial scope. For a live session, add the operator domain, Game ID, RTP, currency and a non-sensitive screenshot of the help panel. This makes later corrections possible when a supplier updates a sheet or an operator changes configuration.
Missing information should remain missing. Do not estimate an RTP from results, convert a euro reference range into an operator's NZD limit, or treat another casino's configuration as evidence. A transparent “not confirmed” is more useful than a precise-looking number without the correct source.
Use limits that survive the feature design
Collection meters, expanding grids, sticky symbols and near misses can make a session feel unfinished. Unless the rules explicitly preserve progress, the visible state has no value after the round or feature ends. Set a money limit and time limit before launch, count feature buys immediately, and stop at the limit even when a meter appears close to an upgrade.
No random game is an income plan. Do not borrow, use essential funds or raise the stake to recover a loss. If play stops feeling recreational, use timeout, deposit-limit or self-exclusion tools and consult the site's responsible gambling guide.
Primary source and correction path
This guide separates documented product information from market availability. Check the official source and the game help inside the exact version offered before making a decision.
