Jack Frost's Winter rules and expanding-reel guide
A source-led walkthrough of the Infinity Reels sequence, expanding Wild settlement, Heart and Star awards, free spins and the evidence needed to identify the loaded build.
Supplier sources below. Operator eligibility needs a separate check.

Jack Frost’s Winter is PG Soft catalogue ID 97. The checked English game-information file is version 1.0 r920c, updated 8 July 2025. It documents an Infinity Reels game that begins with three four-symbol reels and can add a new reel when the rightmost reel improves a winning combination.
The supplier reference states 96.70% RTP, high volatility and an advertised 100,000× maximum. These values describe r920c; they do not prove that a New Zealand operator offers the game, or that a client reached through an operator uses the same configuration.

The return model assigns 67.23 percentage points to the main game and 29.47 to free spins. Their stated hit rates are 20.44% and 0.52%. These figures are components of a mathematical model, not a schedule. A long cold sequence does not make an expanding reel, Heart or Star more likely on the next spin.
How an Infinity Reels result grows
Every paid spin starts with three reels. A winning combination needs five or more matching symbols counted from the leftmost reel. If the rightmost reel improves a win, the game adds another reel to the right and evaluates the longer field. That process can repeat, so the final screen may be wider than the opening screen.
The key audit question is not simply whether another reel appeared. Record which combination existed before the addition and how the new rightmost reel improved it. The document says payouts are made for each qualifying symbol according to the paytable, while the completed result is paid after no further reel is added.
An extra reel also raises the win multiplier by one. The main game starts at 1×; one added reel makes the relevant sequence 2×, a second makes it 3×, and so on. The multiplier belongs to the expanding result under evaluation. It is not carried into the next paid spin.
Expanding Wilds have a condition
Wild substitutes for ordinary symbols but not the Free Spins symbol. It can appear on every reel except reel one. A Wild does not expand merely because it lands: it must be involved in a win. A qualifying Wild then expands across its whole reel.
That timing is worth checking frame by frame. First identify the left-to-right combination, then mark any Wild that helped it, and only then inspect the expanded reel. A Wild elsewhere on the field may remain unexpanded because it did not belong to the settled combination.
Gold-plated symbols are listed for reels two, three and four, but the official rules should be read inside the client before assigning them a value. Decorative gold and an expanding Wild are not interchangeable states. Screenshots should include the entire reel, multiplier and final award rather than a cropped symbol.
Free spins, Hearts and Stars
Three Free Spins symbols anywhere award 10 free spins. Every additional trigger symbol adds two more. The feature begins with a 1× multiplier, and every extra reel added during a free spin raises that multiplier by one, just as the field widens.
Two feature-only modifiers create separate counters. Every Heart visible awards one additional free spin. Every Star increases the current win multiplier by one. If a result contains both, do not compress them into one “bonus” event: note the spin count before and after the Heart award, then note the multiplier before and after the Star adjustment.
The difference matters when reviewing a disputed outcome. A Heart changes how many future free spins remain; a Star changes the value applied to the current expanding result. An added reel can also increase the multiplier, so a correct history should say whether each increment came from reel growth or a Star.
The official document does not promise a fixed highest number of reels or a routine path to the cap. “Ten or more” describes the starting award plus possible additions. It should not be converted into an average feature length without a separate statistical source.
Feature Buy boundary
Version r920c includes a Feature Buy menu that displays a price before starting the free-spin feature. That proves the control exists in the supplier document, not that it is enabled in every jurisdiction or operator deployment. Local rules, account settings and operator configuration can remove or alter the option.
If the button is present, record the quoted cost and total stake before confirming. Do not describe the purchase as a discount, free access or improved odds unless the loaded Help explicitly states such a change. The purchased feature still uses random outcomes and the documented maximum remains a ceiling rather than a target.
Worked settlement example
Suppose the opening three reels contain a qualifying five-symbol run and a participating Wild on reel three. The rightmost reel improves the run, so a fourth reel is added and the multiplier moves from 1× to 2×. The Wild that belonged to the win expands; an unrelated Wild would not.
If the new rightmost reel improves the run again, a fifth reel appears and the multiplier rises to 3×. When the next rightmost reel fails to improve any combination, growth stops and the game settles the completed result. This example illustrates order only; it does not reproduce a paytable award.
During free spins, imagine the same two reel additions alongside one Star. The added reels produce two increments and the Star produces another. A Heart would affect remaining spins instead. Keeping those sources in separate columns prevents an apparent one-step jump from being mistaken for a calculation error.
Maximum, exposure and stake references
The advertised maximum is 100,000× the bet. The PDF separately reports a maximum exposure of 3,500× observed across one billion simulated spins. The advertised cap and the largest result in a specified simulation are different measurements and should never be presented as competing probabilities.
The reference file lists bet sizes 0.01, 0.05 and 0.1 across ten levels, plus a default EUR range from €0.20 to €200. Those are supplier reference settings. They do not establish an NZD range, a local minimum or the balance rules of any operator.
Before a paid round, confirm currency, total bet and any loss or session limit. Infinity Reels can make one result visually long, which can obscure how quickly separate paid spins are being started. A time limit remains useful even when the animation is entertaining.
Mobile and interrupted play
PG Soft lists iOS, Android, HTML5, macOS and Windows, with a 1080×2340 portrait reference. On a phone, the expanding field must remain legible as reels are added. Check that the leftmost origin, newest rightmost reel, multiplier, Hearts and Stars can all be distinguished without relying only on colour.
If the connection drops mid-expansion, avoid assuming the animation equals settlement. Open game history, find the round ID and compare the starting stake, added-reel stages and final award. Server-side outcome and restored animation can be at different points when a session resumes.
Availability and demo wording
PG Soft may make a preview available from its own catalogue. The sponsored links on this article are not labelled as a Jack Frost’s Winter demo. Supplier rules establish the product specification; they do not establish access from New Zealand or approval by a particular operator.
To verify access, use the authenticated lobby, territorial terms and in-client Help at the time of the session. If the displayed version or RTP differs from r920c, retain both records with dates. Report the deployment as a separate build rather than silently replacing the official reference used here.
Who may prefer this format
The game may suit readers who enjoy a result that grows horizontally, a visible multiplier and several independently traceable modifiers. It may be harder to follow for someone who prefers fixed reels, short animations or a feature whose value can be understood from one static screen.
High volatility means session outcomes can vary sharply. The wide field and 100,000× headline do not change the independence of future spins. Set spending and time boundaries before play, and treat every paid spin as a new random event.
Evidence checklist
- Match catalogue ID 97 and version 1.0 r920c.
- Read the RTP shown in the loaded Help file.
- Capture the three-reel opening state and each extra reel.
- Identify which rightmost reel improved the combination.
- Expand only Wilds that participated in a win.
- Track reel, Star and Heart effects separately.
- Record Feature Buy cost only if the control is present.
- Save stake, round ID and final settlement.

How to verify the version you can actually open
A provider page proves that a title exists and describes the supplier's intended rules. It does not prove that a casino accepts players in New Zealand, that the title is enabled for a particular account, or that the highest published RTP is the version in the lobby. Treat availability, operator eligibility and product configuration as three separate checks.
Start with identity, then configuration
Open the game only through the authenticated casino lobby. The information or help panel should identify PG Soft, the exact title and the active mathematical return. Compare the reel or grid layout, paylines or cluster rules, named features and symbol behaviour with the official product material. Similar artwork or a matching title is not enough when the help file is missing or inconsistent.
When the supplier publishes several RTP values, report all of them as configurations. Do not assume the highest option is deployed. RTP is a theoretical long-run measure across a very large number of rounds; it is not a refund rate for one player and cannot predict the next result. Volatility is different: it describes how unevenly results are distributed on the provider's scale.
Read stake controls as money, not interface decoration
Provider sheets often quote a reference range in euros. That range does not establish New Zealand-dollar support or the limits in a specific account. Before a paid round, identify the total amount that will leave the balance. If the interface separates denomination, coins and lines, verify the combined total. If Extra Bet is active, calculate its full cost before pressing spin.
Feature-buy prices are multiples of the current bet, not promised returns. A 100x purchase at a $1 stake costs $100; at a $2 stake it costs $200. Availability can vary by market and some mathematical configurations may not support the control. If the live help does not explain the price, delivered feature and active RTP, leave the option unused.
Keep simulation figures in their proper scope
A game sheet may publish a maximum result observed in a large simulation. That is not automatically the contractual maximum payout and never describes a likely session. Preserve the provider's wording, sample size and configuration. Check the live rules for a binding cap and the operator terms for any separate payout limit. Do not turn an extreme result into a promotional headline.
Audit a disputed round
If an animation freezes or a connection drops, do not repeat the wager immediately. Reopen the game through the authenticated lobby and inspect round history. Record the time, total stake, balance movement and round identifier. The result can be settled by the gaming system even when the device never displays the final animation. Send evidence through verified operator support; never disclose a password, recovery phrase or one-time code.
Read the paytable as a calculation document
The paytable should explain what creates a win, which symbols substitute, where special symbols can land and how multiple awards combine. For line games, confirm direction and active paylines. For cluster games, confirm adjacency, minimum group size and the order of collection. For respins, identify what remains locked, what resets the counter and what ends the feature. A graphic effect can illustrate those rules but cannot replace them.
Separate addition from multiplication. Several prize values may be added before a multiplier applies, while reel-specific multipliers can sometimes multiply together only when each reel participates in the same win. Reconstruct one low-stake result from game history. If the arithmetic cannot be matched to the help file, stop and ask the operator rather than guessing.
Do not confuse hit frequency with a profitable round
Provider sheets can publish hit frequency or category probabilities. A hit simply means a round returned a qualifying amount; it can be smaller than the stake. “Big”, “Mega” or “Epic” thresholds are provider reporting categories, not promises. They are useful for comparing mathematical versions only when definitions and samples are the same.
Random outcomes do not become due after a long gap. A feature that appeared repeatedly in a demo or marketing clip has no obligation to repeat in a funded session. Previous rounds do not create a debt from the next random result.
Confirm market and device behaviour independently
A title can exist in the supplier catalogue while an operator disables it for a territory, currency, device or bonus. Language localisation is not evidence of legal availability. Confirm the operator's identity, accepted countries and current lobby separately from the provider review.
On mobile, verify that balance, total bet, feature state and help remain visible without overlap. On desktop, check that browser zoom does not hide a purchase control or change the apparent denomination. Mathematical configuration should not change merely because the screen changes; if the help shows another RTP, treat it as a different deployment and record it.
Keep a compact evidence record
For any fact used in a review, save the title, provider, official URL, document date when available, access date and exact territorial scope. For a live session, add the operator domain, Game ID, RTP, currency and a non-sensitive screenshot of the help panel. This makes later corrections possible when a supplier updates a sheet or an operator changes configuration.
Missing information should remain missing. Do not estimate an RTP from results, convert a euro reference range into an operator's NZD limit, or treat another casino's configuration as evidence. A transparent “not confirmed” is more useful than a precise-looking number without the correct source.
Use limits that survive the feature design
Collection meters, expanding grids, sticky symbols and near misses can make a session feel unfinished. Unless the rules explicitly preserve progress, the visible state has no value after the round or feature ends. Set a money limit and time limit before launch, count feature buys immediately, and stop at the limit even when a meter appears close to an upgrade.
No random game is an income plan. Do not borrow, use essential funds or raise the stake to recover a loss. If play stops feeling recreational, use timeout, deposit-limit or self-exclusion tools and consult the site's responsible gambling guide.
Primary source and correction path
This guide separates documented product information from market availability. Check the official source and the game help inside the exact version offered before making a decision.
