Hawaiian Tiki rules and expanding-Wild sequence
A source-led guide to the 3/4/5/5/4/3 field, centre-reel Wild growth, five-Wild reset condition, Free Spins extensions and two differently labelled maximum figures.
Supplier sources below. Operator eligibility needs a separate check.

Hawaiian Tiki appears in the PG Soft catalogue as ID 1381200. The primary document reviewed for this page is English game-information version 1.0 r6, updated 8 July 2025. It defines six collapsing reels with row heights of three, four, five, five, four and three, evaluated across 3,600 ways.
The r6 source gives 96.76% RTP, medium volatility and an advertised maximum of 2,500×. It separately lists 1,274× as the maximum exposure found in one billion simulated spins. These labels describe different evidence and should not be collapsed into one number.

The RTP breakdown is 67.32 percentage points for the main game and 29.45 for Free Spins. Hit-rate rows show 32.00% and 0.47%. They describe the tested model, not how a particular session will unfold.
Uneven reels and 3,600 ways
The outside reels have three positions, the next pair four and the two centre reels five. A ways award connects matching symbols on adjacent reels from the left. Winning symbols are removed and replacements collapse into the open spaces.
Do not call the field simply “six by five”. Only reels three and four reach five rows. Using 3/4/5/5/4/3 in an evidence note makes symbol locations unambiguous and explains why the two centre reels are important to the Wild feature.
Every collapse is a new evaluation within the same paid spin. Save the initial field and number each replacement field. The expansion rule acts after a winning round, so timing cannot be proved by a screenshot that shows only the final Wild stack.
Wilds appear only on reels three and four
Wild substitutes for ordinary paying symbols except Scatter. Under r6, it appears only on the two five-row centre reels. That restriction makes its coordinate easy to audit: any ordinary Wild shown on reel one, two, five or six would not match the checked rules.
After a winning round, a Wild on reel three or four remains for the next round and one new Wild is added below the lowest existing Wild in that reel. If the bottom position is already occupied by the Wild stack and there is no space below, the new Wild is added above the highest existing Wild.
The direction rule is conditional rather than random. First try below; only use the position above when no lower space is available. Mark the full reel before collapse so the added Wild can be distinguished from an original one.
A full five-Wild reel does not keep growing
The special reset condition is easy to miss. If reel three or four contains five Wild symbols, all five on that reel do not remain for the next round, and no new Wild is added.
In other words, a full centre reel is the terminal state of that Wild stack, not a permanent full-Wild reel carried indefinitely. It can contribute to the current evaluation, but the persistence rule stops afterward for that complete reel.
Track the two centre reels separately. One can reach five and clear its carried state while the other remains at two or three and continues expanding after another win. The rule is written per reel, not as a combined ten-position threshold.
Worked main-game sequence
Suppose reel three contains one Wild in its middle position and the opening board wins. Settle the 3,600-ways award first. For the next board, keep that Wild and add another immediately below it. If the second board wins, preserve both and add a third below if space remains.
When the stack reaches the bottom, the next qualifying addition appears above the topmost Wild. Continue to record source positions and added position after each winning round. Once all five positions on reel three are Wild, that full stack is not retained into the following round.
If reel four also contains a smaller Wild stack, its expansion follows its own available-space check. A ledger should list collapse number, base award, reel-three Wild coordinates, reel-four coordinates, new additions and the next field’s state.
Free Spins use a per-spin carry rule
Three Scatter symbols anywhere award 12 free spins. Each additional triggering Scatter adds two. Free Spins can be retriggered.
At the end of each free spin, if either centre reel contains between one and four Wilds, those Wilds remain into the next free spin and one new Wild is added on that reel. This makes persistence cross the free-spin boundary rather than depending only on another collapse within the same spin.
The one-to-four condition excludes a complete five-Wild reel. Preserve the last field of one free spin and the first field of the next to prove which Wild positions carried and where the added one appeared.
The feature also has a separate extension rule: two Free Spin symbols appearing anywhere during Free Spins award four additional spins. This is not the same as the initial three-Scatter trigger. Record the icon type and counter change rather than treating every special symbol as Scatter.
Distinguishing Scatter from Free Spin symbols
The base game uses Scatter symbols to start the feature. Inside the feature, the PDF specifically names two Free Spin symbols as the condition for four more spins. The change in terminology is meaningful.
When capturing evidence, include the symbol legend from Help and the triggering field. An icon that looks similar in a compressed screenshot should not be identified solely by colour or decoration.
Additional Scatters on the initial trigger add two each, while the two-symbol feature event adds four. Keeping those two rules in separate columns prevents a counter increase from being assigned to the wrong condition.
Advertised 2,500× and simulated 1,274×
The r6 summary shows “Max Win” of 2,500× and labels it the advertised value. The same table reports 1,274× as maximum exposure simulated in one billion spins. PG Soft’s catalogue card uses the advertised 2,500× figure.
These numbers are not necessarily contradictory. One is the stated game ceiling; the other is the highest result encountered in the described simulation. The simulation not reaching the cap does not lower the rule ceiling, and the headline cap does not prove that the simulation observed it.
This page therefore reports both labels. It does not substitute 1,274× as the hard cap or claim that 2,500× occurred in the stated billion-spin run. If live Help contains a maximum-win clause, save it as deployment evidence.
RTP and frequency
The 96.76% RTP is the theoretical return of the reference mathematical model. It does not promise that a session returns €96.76 from every €100 staked. Realised results can be above or below the model over short and medium samples.
The 32.47% overall hit rate counts how often the simulation records a hit under its rules. It does not state average hit size. A frequent small award and a rare larger award both contribute to the statistic.
The 0.47% feature hit-rate component is not a countdown. A long gap without Free Spins does not make the next spin more likely to trigger. Medium volatility is a supplier category, not a guarantee of smooth balance movement.
Paytable checks
The active paytable should confirm symbol tiers, 3,600 ways, Wild substitution, Wild reel restrictions, Scatter trigger and the two-symbol feature extension. Capture it alongside the RTP and total stake so all facts refer to one deployment.
Do not copy symbol awards from a different denomination. The PDF’s control section shows that total bet can combine base bet, bet size and bet level. The game’s displayed payout table should be read in the context of the current total stake.
If an operator client shows a different maximum from the advertised catalogue value, retain the exact Help wording. It may reflect a configuration or display convention and needs source context before any correction.
No documented Feature Buy in r6
The checked Hawaiian Tiki r6 document moves from Free Spins rules directly to the paytable. It does not include the Feature Buy section found in some other PG Soft titles. Therefore this review does not claim that a purchase option exists.
Mobile layout and controls
PG Soft lists iOS, Android, HTML5, macOS and Windows and provides 1080 by 2340 as the optimal portrait reference. This supports cross-platform design, not access through every operator.
On mobile, make sure the full height of reels three and four is visible. A browser bar or account banner covering the top position could hide where an added Wild appears when the bottom of the stack is full.
Test history access after a long feature. The record should allow the reader to identify final Wild positions, carried positions and spin-counter extensions. Turbo mode shortens animation duration, so disable it when collecting a rules evidence sequence.
Demo and NZ access
This article does not provide a Hawaiian Tiki demo. Both commercial buttons are sponsored routes, clearly separated from editorial evidence. They may lead to an operator page but do not prove the title will load.
The global PG Soft catalogue does not confirm New Zealand availability, 22Bet inclusion, NZD stakes or account eligibility. Verify those after authentication. Use ID 1381200 to distinguish the exact product from similarly themed titles.
Player-fit notes
Hawaiian Tiki is mechanically narrower than games with several independent bonus systems. Its main audit task is spatial: watch one or two Wild stacks grow, understand the below-then-above placement rule and recognise the five-Wild terminal condition.
That clarity may appeal to readers who prefer visible state over hidden collections. Someone seeking a published multiplier distribution or a high advertised ceiling may find less to compare. Neither preference indicates a better chance of winning.
Set limits before beginning a paid session and do not keep playing because a Wild stack “almost” reached five. Near-completion does not guarantee another winning collapse. The responsible gambling guide covers timeouts, deposit controls and support options.
Evidence checklist
Before using the guide against a live client, capture:
- title, ID 1381200 and Help version;
- active RTP and total stake currency;
- 3/4/5/5/4/3 field and 3,600 ways;
- Wild substitution and reels-three-and-four restriction;
- expansion below the lowest Wild;
- fallback addition above the highest Wild;
- non-persistence of a complete five-Wild reel;
- three-Scatter trigger and 12 starting free spins;
- two Free Spin symbols adding four spins;
- advertised and locally displayed maximum values;
- round history and responsible-play controls.
The provider hub explains catalogue verification. If a loaded build differs, the corrections policy lists the evidence needed to update the article without erasing the r6 record.
FAQ
What RTP does Hawaiian Tiki use?
The r6 document and current catalogue state 96.76% for the reference game. Confirm the loaded Help value separately.
Where can Wild symbols appear?
On reels three and four only in r6. They substitute for ordinary paying symbols but not Scatter.
How does a Wild stack expand?
After a winning round, existing centre-reel Wilds remain and one new Wild is placed below the lowest; if no lower space exists, it is placed above the highest.
What happens when all five positions are Wild?
A complete five-Wild reel is not retained for the next round and receives no new Wild under the checked rule.
Is the maximum 2,500× or 1,274×?
The advertised cap is 2,500×. The document separately reports 1,274× as the highest exposure in one billion simulated spins.
Is Hawaiian Tiki confirmed in New Zealand?
No. The studio sources confirm the product and reference rules, not access in a particular NZ operator account.

How to verify the version you can actually open
A provider page proves that a title exists and describes the supplier's intended rules. It does not prove that a casino accepts players in New Zealand, that the title is enabled for a particular account, or that the highest published RTP is the version in the lobby. Treat availability, operator eligibility and product configuration as three separate checks.
Start with identity, then configuration
Open the game only through the authenticated casino lobby. The information or help panel should identify PG Soft, the exact title and the active mathematical return. Compare the reel or grid layout, paylines or cluster rules, named features and symbol behaviour with the official product material. Similar artwork or a matching title is not enough when the help file is missing or inconsistent.
When the supplier publishes several RTP values, report all of them as configurations. Do not assume the highest option is deployed. RTP is a theoretical long-run measure across a very large number of rounds; it is not a refund rate for one player and cannot predict the next result. Volatility is different: it describes how unevenly results are distributed on the provider's scale.
Read stake controls as money, not interface decoration
Provider sheets often quote a reference range in euros. That range does not establish New Zealand-dollar support or the limits in a specific account. Before a paid round, identify the total amount that will leave the balance. If the interface separates denomination, coins and lines, verify the combined total. If Extra Bet is active, calculate its full cost before pressing spin.
Feature-buy prices are multiples of the current bet, not promised returns. A 100x purchase at a $1 stake costs $100; at a $2 stake it costs $200. Availability can vary by market and some mathematical configurations may not support the control. If the live help does not explain the price, delivered feature and active RTP, leave the option unused.
Keep simulation figures in their proper scope
A game sheet may publish a maximum result observed in a large simulation. That is not automatically the contractual maximum payout and never describes a likely session. Preserve the provider's wording, sample size and configuration. Check the live rules for a binding cap and the operator terms for any separate payout limit. Do not turn an extreme result into a promotional headline.
Audit a disputed round
If an animation freezes or a connection drops, do not repeat the wager immediately. Reopen the game through the authenticated lobby and inspect round history. Record the time, total stake, balance movement and round identifier. The result can be settled by the gaming system even when the device never displays the final animation. Send evidence through verified operator support; never disclose a password, recovery phrase or one-time code.
Read the paytable as a calculation document
The paytable should explain what creates a win, which symbols substitute, where special symbols can land and how multiple awards combine. For line games, confirm direction and active paylines. For cluster games, confirm adjacency, minimum group size and the order of collection. For respins, identify what remains locked, what resets the counter and what ends the feature. A graphic effect can illustrate those rules but cannot replace them.
Separate addition from multiplication. Several prize values may be added before a multiplier applies, while reel-specific multipliers can sometimes multiply together only when each reel participates in the same win. Reconstruct one low-stake result from game history. If the arithmetic cannot be matched to the help file, stop and ask the operator rather than guessing.
Do not confuse hit frequency with a profitable round
Provider sheets can publish hit frequency or category probabilities. A hit simply means a round returned a qualifying amount; it can be smaller than the stake. “Big”, “Mega” or “Epic” thresholds are provider reporting categories, not promises. They are useful for comparing mathematical versions only when definitions and samples are the same.
Random outcomes do not become due after a long gap. A feature that appeared repeatedly in a demo or marketing clip has no obligation to repeat in a funded session. Previous rounds do not create a debt from the next random result.
Confirm market and device behaviour independently
A title can exist in the supplier catalogue while an operator disables it for a territory, currency, device or bonus. Language localisation is not evidence of legal availability. Confirm the operator's identity, accepted countries and current lobby separately from the provider review.
On mobile, verify that balance, total bet, feature state and help remain visible without overlap. On desktop, check that browser zoom does not hide a purchase control or change the apparent denomination. Mathematical configuration should not change merely because the screen changes; if the help shows another RTP, treat it as a different deployment and record it.
Keep a compact evidence record
For any fact used in a review, save the title, provider, official URL, document date when available, access date and exact territorial scope. For a live session, add the operator domain, Game ID, RTP, currency and a non-sensitive screenshot of the help panel. This makes later corrections possible when a supplier updates a sheet or an operator changes configuration.
Missing information should remain missing. Do not estimate an RTP from results, convert a euro reference range into an operator's NZD limit, or treat another casino's configuration as evidence. A transparent “not confirmed” is more useful than a precise-looking number without the correct source.
Use limits that survive the feature design
Collection meters, expanding grids, sticky symbols and near misses can make a session feel unfinished. Unless the rules explicitly preserve progress, the visible state has no value after the round or feature ends. Set a money limit and time limit before launch, count feature buys immediately, and stop at the limit even when a meter appears close to an upgrade.
No random game is an income plan. Do not borrow, use essential funds or raise the stake to recover a loss. If play stops feeling recreational, use timeout, deposit-limit or self-exclusion tools and consult the site's responsible gambling guide.
Primary source and correction path
This guide separates documented product information from market availability. Check the official source and the game help inside the exact version offered before making a decision.
