Guardians of Ice & Fire rules and dual-board free spins
A precise guide to the shaped 576-way base grid, Wild multiplier, 2,304-way free-spin expansion and the conditions that distinguish 5× from 10× awards.
Supplier sources below. Operator eligibility needs a separate check.

Guardians of Ice & Fire is PG Soft catalogue ID 91. The checked English game-information document is version 1.0 r918, updated 8 July 2025. It begins with a shaped six-reel board whose reel heights are 2–3–4–4–3–2 and evaluates 576 ways.
The supplier states 96.70% RTP, medium volatility and an advertised maximum of 50,000×. Free spins add a centre reel, split the screen into top and bottom boards and apply different multipliers depending on where wins and Wilds occur. The file does not verify New Zealand operator access.

| Base evaluation | 576 ways | Consecutive reels from left |
| RTP | 96.70% | Reference configuration |
| Volatility | Medium | Supplier classification |
| Overall hit rate | 30.86% | Long-run model statistic |
| Main Wild win | 2× | At least one Wild in a win |
| Free-spin trigger | 3–6 trigger symbols | 10–25 starting spins |
| Free-spin field | 2,304 ways | Two simultaneous sets |

The model assigns 59.68 percentage points of RTP to the main game and 37.02 to free spins. Hit rates are 30.20% and 0.66% respectively. The figures identify the supplier model; they do not guarantee a feature within a fixed number of spins.
Read the shaped 576-way base game
The outer reels have two positions, the next pair have three and the two central reels have four. Ways are evaluated across consecutive reels from the left. A symbol does not need to follow a drawn payline, but it must appear on each required reel in sequence.
The different heights mean the centre offers more possible symbol positions than the edges. Do not multiply all visible positions blindly. Use the stated 576-way model and the game’s own settlement rather than inventing additional routes from the shape.
Wild appears only on reels two through five. It substitutes for paying symbols but not the Free Spins symbol. Reel one must therefore provide the starting paying identity; a Wild cannot start the route from the outer-left reel.
The main-game Wild multiplier
During a main-game spin, if one or more Wild symbols participate in any win, all wins for that spin are multiplied by 2. The important condition is participation: a Wild merely visible elsewhere on the board is not enough.
To verify the multiplier, first identify at least one winning way that uses a Wild. Then list all settled wins on that spin and compare their combined base value with the final 2× amount. The rule applies at spin level once the condition is met, not only to the individual way containing the Wild.
Free spins use a separate multiplier logic. Do not transfer this base-game 2× wording into the two-board feature, where 5× and 10× depend on the top and bottom results.
Free-spin trigger table
The number of trigger symbols determines the starting allocation:
| Free Spins symbols | Starting spins |
|---|---|
| 3 | 10 |
| 4 | 15 |
| 5 | 20 |
| 6 | 25 |
During the feature, every additional Free Spins symbol that lands awards one extra spin. This is an incremental retrigger, not a repeat of the opening 10/15/20/25 table.
Why free spins use 2,304 ways
The feature adds an extra reel in the middle and creates two reel sets, one at the top and one at the bottom. Both spin at the same time. The documented number of ways rises from 576 to 2,304.
Treat the two sets as separate result areas before applying the feature-level multiplier. Identify wins on the top set, wins on the bottom set and whether any winning route in either set used a Wild. A screenshot that crops one half cannot establish the final multiplier condition.
The extra centre reel belongs to the feature structure; it is not a randomly added reel and does not persist when play returns to the base game.
Distinguish 5× and 10× correctly
If both the top and bottom sets each contain at least one winning way, all wins for that free spin receive 5×. This requires a win on both halves, not merely symbols that resemble a near-win.
For a set of reels that has one or more Wilds involved in any winning way, all wins for that set receive 10×. The 10× condition is therefore evaluated by set and requires Wild participation. It should not be applied to the opposite set unless that set also meets the Wild condition.
When both conditions appear in one spin, rely on the displayed settlement and preserve each board’s component award. The rules describe 5× for the both-sets-win condition and 10× for a winning set involving Wild; they do not instruct the reader to multiply 5 by 10 into 50×.
Worked dual-board example
Suppose the top set contains a qualifying win using a Wild, while the bottom set also has an ordinary win. Both sets won, so the spin satisfies the 5× condition. The top set additionally satisfies the Wild-in-win rule and receives the documented 10× treatment.
Do not automatically give the bottom set 10× because a Wild appeared above it. Likewise, do not multiply the top result by 50× unless the live Help settlement explicitly shows a separate operation not present in r918.
If only the top set wins and it uses no Wild, the both-sets condition is absent and the Wild condition is absent. The dual layout alone does not produce a multiplier.
Maximum, simulation and stake references
The advertised cap is 50,000× the bet. PG Soft separately reports 6,917× as the largest exposure observed in one billion simulated spins. The higher advertised value is a ceiling, while the simulation figure is a recorded test result. Neither should be presented as a likely outcome.
The rules list bet sizes 0.01, 0.05 and 0.1 across ten levels, with default EUR stakes from €0.20 to €20. These do not confirm NZD limits. Record the actual currency, total bet and operator controls from the live client.
Mobile and interruption evidence
Supported platforms include iOS, Android, HTML5, macOS and Windows. The portrait reference is 1080×2340. On a phone, both feature boards, the central added reel, win highlighting, Wild participation and spins remaining must stay readable at once.
After a connection loss, consult history before another spin. Save the round ID, starting trigger count, top and bottom wins, Wild positions, extra-spin symbols and final settlement. A replay may show the animation without preserving the order in which the client highlighted each component.
Demo and New Zealand boundary
PG Soft may provide a catalogue preview. The sponsored destinations here are not described as a Guardians of Ice & Fire demo. The official rules identify the global r918 build but do not prove access in New Zealand.
Confirm authenticated lobby availability and compare the loaded Help screen. If its RTP or revision differs, document that configuration separately instead of merging it with this source.
Player-fit assessment
The title may suit readers who enjoy ways-based evaluation and can compare two simultaneous boards. It may be less suitable for someone who wants a simple single-screen feature or low volatility.
Set money and time limits before starting. Two visually active boards can create a sense of momentum, but a Wild on one side does not improve the probability or multiplier condition on the other side.
Evidence checklist
- Match catalogue ID 91 and version 1.0 r918.
- Confirm the 2–3–4–4–3–2 base shape.
- Separate Wild visibility from Wild participation.
- Record the exact number of trigger symbols.
- Treat top and bottom results separately.
- Apply 5× only when both sets win.
- Apply 10× only to a set with a Wild in a win.
- Save stake, round ID and final settlement.
A two-column settlement record
During free spins, place the top and bottom sets in separate columns. For each, record whether it produced a way, whether a Wild participated and the base award before the displayed feature multiplier. Then add a final row for the both-sets-win condition. This layout makes the 5× and 10× rules auditable without treating the whole screen as one undifferentiated grid. It is especially helpful on mobile, where celebration effects can obscure the boundary between sets. If the client reports only one combined total, preserve the animation and history entry; do not invent a split that the available evidence cannot support.

How to verify the version you can actually open
A provider page proves that a title exists and describes the supplier's intended rules. It does not prove that a casino accepts players in New Zealand, that the title is enabled for a particular account, or that the highest published RTP is the version in the lobby. Treat availability, operator eligibility and product configuration as three separate checks.
Start with identity, then configuration
Open the game only through the authenticated casino lobby. The information or help panel should identify PG Soft, the exact title and the active mathematical return. Compare the reel or grid layout, paylines or cluster rules, named features and symbol behaviour with the official product material. Similar artwork or a matching title is not enough when the help file is missing or inconsistent.
When the supplier publishes several RTP values, report all of them as configurations. Do not assume the highest option is deployed. RTP is a theoretical long-run measure across a very large number of rounds; it is not a refund rate for one player and cannot predict the next result. Volatility is different: it describes how unevenly results are distributed on the provider's scale.
Read stake controls as money, not interface decoration
Provider sheets often quote a reference range in euros. That range does not establish New Zealand-dollar support or the limits in a specific account. Before a paid round, identify the total amount that will leave the balance. If the interface separates denomination, coins and lines, verify the combined total. If Extra Bet is active, calculate its full cost before pressing spin.
Feature-buy prices are multiples of the current bet, not promised returns. A 100x purchase at a $1 stake costs $100; at a $2 stake it costs $200. Availability can vary by market and some mathematical configurations may not support the control. If the live help does not explain the price, delivered feature and active RTP, leave the option unused.
Keep simulation figures in their proper scope
A game sheet may publish a maximum result observed in a large simulation. That is not automatically the contractual maximum payout and never describes a likely session. Preserve the provider's wording, sample size and configuration. Check the live rules for a binding cap and the operator terms for any separate payout limit. Do not turn an extreme result into a promotional headline.
Audit a disputed round
If an animation freezes or a connection drops, do not repeat the wager immediately. Reopen the game through the authenticated lobby and inspect round history. Record the time, total stake, balance movement and round identifier. The result can be settled by the gaming system even when the device never displays the final animation. Send evidence through verified operator support; never disclose a password, recovery phrase or one-time code.
Read the paytable as a calculation document
The paytable should explain what creates a win, which symbols substitute, where special symbols can land and how multiple awards combine. For line games, confirm direction and active paylines. For cluster games, confirm adjacency, minimum group size and the order of collection. For respins, identify what remains locked, what resets the counter and what ends the feature. A graphic effect can illustrate those rules but cannot replace them.
Separate addition from multiplication. Several prize values may be added before a multiplier applies, while reel-specific multipliers can sometimes multiply together only when each reel participates in the same win. Reconstruct one low-stake result from game history. If the arithmetic cannot be matched to the help file, stop and ask the operator rather than guessing.
Do not confuse hit frequency with a profitable round
Provider sheets can publish hit frequency or category probabilities. A hit simply means a round returned a qualifying amount; it can be smaller than the stake. “Big”, “Mega” or “Epic” thresholds are provider reporting categories, not promises. They are useful for comparing mathematical versions only when definitions and samples are the same.
Random outcomes do not become due after a long gap. A feature that appeared repeatedly in a demo or marketing clip has no obligation to repeat in a funded session. Previous rounds do not create a debt from the next random result.
Confirm market and device behaviour independently
A title can exist in the supplier catalogue while an operator disables it for a territory, currency, device or bonus. Language localisation is not evidence of legal availability. Confirm the operator's identity, accepted countries and current lobby separately from the provider review.
On mobile, verify that balance, total bet, feature state and help remain visible without overlap. On desktop, check that browser zoom does not hide a purchase control or change the apparent denomination. Mathematical configuration should not change merely because the screen changes; if the help shows another RTP, treat it as a different deployment and record it.
Keep a compact evidence record
For any fact used in a review, save the title, provider, official URL, document date when available, access date and exact territorial scope. For a live session, add the operator domain, Game ID, RTP, currency and a non-sensitive screenshot of the help panel. This makes later corrections possible when a supplier updates a sheet or an operator changes configuration.
Missing information should remain missing. Do not estimate an RTP from results, convert a euro reference range into an operator's NZD limit, or treat another casino's configuration as evidence. A transparent “not confirmed” is more useful than a precise-looking number without the correct source.
Use limits that survive the feature design
Collection meters, expanding grids, sticky symbols and near misses can make a session feel unfinished. Unless the rules explicitly preserve progress, the visible state has no value after the round or feature ends. Set a money limit and time limit before launch, count feature buys immediately, and stop at the limit even when a meter appears close to an upgrade.
No random game is an income plan. Do not borrow, use essential funds or raise the stake to recover a loss. If play stops feeling recreational, use timeout, deposit-limit or self-exclusion tools and consult the site's responsible gambling guide.
Primary source and correction path
This guide separates documented product information from market availability. Check the official source and the game help inside the exact version offered before making a decision.
