Dragon's Treasure Quest rules, expanding windows and RTP
A precise guide to the split-window cascade, additive multiplier symbols, Treasure Chest assist, Free Spins accumulator, Ante Bet and maximum win.
Supplier sources below. Operator eligibility needs a separate check.

Dragon’s Treasure Quest is PG Soft catalogue ID 1897678, code dragons-treas. The supplier’s English rules file is version 1.0 r5, updated 30 January 2026. It begins each spin with 243 ways, then lets winning reel windows split until as many as 7,776 ways are active.
PG Soft documents 96.76% RTP, high volatility and a 10,000× maximum win. The catalogue and PDF agreed on those headline figures at the audit date. That agreement still does not prove a specific operator uses the same stake menu or offers the game to New Zealand accounts.

How reel windows split
Every paid spin starts with three large windows on each reel. After a winning round, participating symbols disappear and new symbols cascade into position. Any large reel window involved in that previous win splits into two smaller windows before the next evaluation.
Small windows cannot split again. That prevents indefinite geometric growth and defines the maximum 7,776-way state. A reel can therefore contain a mixture of large and small windows until the cascade ends.
The extra ways do not persist into the next paid spin. To audit a result, capture the original 243-way board, each winning window that divides, and the final count or arrangement. A last-board screenshot alone cannot show how the expanded state was earned.
Multiplier symbols in paid play
Multiplier symbols with values from 2× to 100× may appear during the main game. At the end of the spin, all visible multiplier values are added, and the total win for that spin is multiplied by the combined factor.
“Added” is the critical verb. A 2× and 5× symbol form 7× under the documented rule, not 10×. The combined factor applies to the spin total after its cascade sequence.
When reviewing history, separate the ordinary ways win from the sum of multiplier symbols. This makes it possible to reproduce the paid amount without confusing a symbol value with a cash prize.
Treasure Chest collection is conditional assistance
At the end of a main-game spin, if one, two or three Scatters are present, the Treasure Chest may randomly add enough extra Scatters to produce the four-symbol Free Spins trigger.
The chest is not guaranteed whenever a near trigger appears. The rules describe a chance-based intervention. A near miss with three Scatters therefore cannot be treated as an unpaid entitlement.
If the chest does activate, record the initial Scatter count and the additional symbols it places. That distinction is useful because the same four-Scatter final board can arise naturally or through the chest event.
Free Spins accumulate multipliers
Four Scatters appearing anywhere award 15 Free Spins. Every additional Scatter adds two more. The feature can retrigger, although the PDF does not state that a retrigger must occur within any particular number of spins.
Winning free spins use two multiplier sources. Values from Multiplier symbols on the reels are combined for that spin, while multipliers collected during the feature accumulate at the bottom of the reels and remain until the feature ends.
At the end of a winning free spin, the win is multiplied by both the bottom accumulator and the combined visible multiplier-symbol total. Record the displayed factors rather than assuming whether the interface applies them by multiplication or another presentation step; the settled history should show the actual total.
The expanding-window mechanic remains relevant because more small windows mean more ways during an active cascade. The reel structure and multiplier progression should be audited as separate layers.
Ante Bet and Feature Buy are different routes
The Ante Bet option increases the price of each spin by 1.5× and, according to the PDF, triples the chance of entering Free Spins. It does not say the RTP triples, that three features are guaranteed or that the reward is larger.
Feature Buy is a separate menu that sells direct entry to Free Spins at the price displayed in the interface. The supplier PDF does not publish one universal buy price, so a review should not invent one.
Both controls may be unavailable in some operator or jurisdiction configurations. Their absence is not necessarily a malfunction. Where either appears, capture the confirmation panel, total cost, current bet and stated feature terms before accepting.
Return allocation and hit-rate context
The PDF divides 96.76% theoretical return into 72.50% main game and 24.26% Free Spins. Its simulated overall hit rate is 21.98%, with 21.70% attributed to main play and 0.28% to the feature.
Those measures answer different questions. RTP is a long-run ratio of returned stakes; hit rate counts qualifying outcomes in the simulation. A hit can return less than the wager, so neither percentage represents a chance of finishing a session in profit.
High volatility means actual short sessions may deviate sharply from the long-run model. The expanding display can create a sense of momentum, but it does not change the independence or cost of a new paid spin.
Maximum win and settlement boundary
The maximum win is 10,000× the bet. If accumulated winnings in the main game or Free Spins reach the limit, the active spin ends. This cap includes results enhanced by multiplier symbols and the feature accumulator.
Do not add the cap separately to a settled award. It is a ceiling on the total, not an extra prize. At different stakes, the cash equivalent changes proportionally, subject to the currency and operator’s own displayed limits.
The PDF’s €0.20 to €100 defaults are not confirmed NZD boundaries. A local session must be checked directly for currency, minimum, maximum and step size.
Mobile verification
The reference display is portrait 1080×2340. On a phone, the key question is whether small and large windows remain distinguishable once several reels have split. Multiplier symbols, bottom accumulator, remaining Free Spins and bet amount must all stay readable.
Open the paytable and Rules after loading the game through the account. Check the verify control, provider identity and history access. If an operator wrapper hides these buttons, document the route used to reach them.
Turbo can shorten animations but should not alter settlement. For a disputed cascade, turn it off and record the complete sequence so each window split and multiplier can be followed.
Practical fit
This game is built for readers who like a visible state change: the board literally fragments as successful cascades progress. It also rewards careful interpretation because reel expansion, chest assistance and multipliers perform different jobs.
It is not ideal for someone seeking a low-volatility game or a simple fixed grid. The 10,000× headline is a hard upper boundary, not a routine target. The most useful pre-play facts are the active RTP, cost of optional entry routes and clear understanding that expansion resets between paid spins.
For comparison purposes, record those settings before judging the game by one unusually long or short cascade.

How to verify the version you can actually open
A provider page proves that a title exists and describes the supplier's intended rules. It does not prove that a casino accepts players in New Zealand, that the title is enabled for a particular account, or that the highest published RTP is the version in the lobby. Treat availability, operator eligibility and product configuration as three separate checks.
Start with identity, then configuration
Open the game only through the authenticated casino lobby. The information or help panel should identify PG Soft, the exact title and the active mathematical return. Compare the reel or grid layout, paylines or cluster rules, named features and symbol behaviour with the official product material. Similar artwork or a matching title is not enough when the help file is missing or inconsistent.
When the supplier publishes several RTP values, report all of them as configurations. Do not assume the highest option is deployed. RTP is a theoretical long-run measure across a very large number of rounds; it is not a refund rate for one player and cannot predict the next result. Volatility is different: it describes how unevenly results are distributed on the provider's scale.
Read stake controls as money, not interface decoration
Provider sheets often quote a reference range in euros. That range does not establish New Zealand-dollar support or the limits in a specific account. Before a paid round, identify the total amount that will leave the balance. If the interface separates denomination, coins and lines, verify the combined total. If Extra Bet is active, calculate its full cost before pressing spin.
Feature-buy prices are multiples of the current bet, not promised returns. A 100x purchase at a $1 stake costs $100; at a $2 stake it costs $200. Availability can vary by market and some mathematical configurations may not support the control. If the live help does not explain the price, delivered feature and active RTP, leave the option unused.
Keep simulation figures in their proper scope
A game sheet may publish a maximum result observed in a large simulation. That is not automatically the contractual maximum payout and never describes a likely session. Preserve the provider's wording, sample size and configuration. Check the live rules for a binding cap and the operator terms for any separate payout limit. Do not turn an extreme result into a promotional headline.
Audit a disputed round
If an animation freezes or a connection drops, do not repeat the wager immediately. Reopen the game through the authenticated lobby and inspect round history. Record the time, total stake, balance movement and round identifier. The result can be settled by the gaming system even when the device never displays the final animation. Send evidence through verified operator support; never disclose a password, recovery phrase or one-time code.
Read the paytable as a calculation document
The paytable should explain what creates a win, which symbols substitute, where special symbols can land and how multiple awards combine. For line games, confirm direction and active paylines. For cluster games, confirm adjacency, minimum group size and the order of collection. For respins, identify what remains locked, what resets the counter and what ends the feature. A graphic effect can illustrate those rules but cannot replace them.
Separate addition from multiplication. Several prize values may be added before a multiplier applies, while reel-specific multipliers can sometimes multiply together only when each reel participates in the same win. Reconstruct one low-stake result from game history. If the arithmetic cannot be matched to the help file, stop and ask the operator rather than guessing.
Do not confuse hit frequency with a profitable round
Provider sheets can publish hit frequency or category probabilities. A hit simply means a round returned a qualifying amount; it can be smaller than the stake. “Big”, “Mega” or “Epic” thresholds are provider reporting categories, not promises. They are useful for comparing mathematical versions only when definitions and samples are the same.
Random outcomes do not become due after a long gap. A feature that appeared repeatedly in a demo or marketing clip has no obligation to repeat in a funded session. Previous rounds do not create a debt from the next random result.
Confirm market and device behaviour independently
A title can exist in the supplier catalogue while an operator disables it for a territory, currency, device or bonus. Language localisation is not evidence of legal availability. Confirm the operator's identity, accepted countries and current lobby separately from the provider review.
On mobile, verify that balance, total bet, feature state and help remain visible without overlap. On desktop, check that browser zoom does not hide a purchase control or change the apparent denomination. Mathematical configuration should not change merely because the screen changes; if the help shows another RTP, treat it as a different deployment and record it.
Keep a compact evidence record
For any fact used in a review, save the title, provider, official URL, document date when available, access date and exact territorial scope. For a live session, add the operator domain, Game ID, RTP, currency and a non-sensitive screenshot of the help panel. This makes later corrections possible when a supplier updates a sheet or an operator changes configuration.
Missing information should remain missing. Do not estimate an RTP from results, convert a euro reference range into an operator's NZD limit, or treat another casino's configuration as evidence. A transparent “not confirmed” is more useful than a precise-looking number without the correct source.
Use limits that survive the feature design
Collection meters, expanding grids, sticky symbols and near misses can make a session feel unfinished. Unless the rules explicitly preserve progress, the visible state has no value after the round or feature ends. Set a money limit and time limit before launch, count feature buys immediately, and stop at the limit even when a meter appears close to an upgrade.
No random game is an income plan. Do not borrow, use essential funds or raise the stake to recover a loss. If play stops feeling recreational, use timeout, deposit-limit or self-exclusion tools and consult the site's responsible gambling guide.
Primary source and correction path
This guide separates documented product information from market availability. Check the official source and the game help inside the exact version offered before making a decision.
