Cruise Royale rules and the diagonal travelling Wild route
A route-by-route guide to the additional upper reel, leftward Wild movement, feature multiplier growth and the documented difference between the r2 PDF and current catalogue card.
Supplier sources below. Operator eligibility needs a separate check.

Cruise Royale is PG Soft catalogue ID 1473388. The checked English rules file is version 1.0 r2, updated 8 July 2025. It documents a six-reel, four-row collapsing game with an additional upper reel above reels two through five.
The r2 PDF states 96.63% RTP, low volatility and a 2,500× maximum. The current catalogue card reports 96.65% and high volatility. These sources conflict, so this page identifies both instead of blending them. The loaded Help screen is required to identify an operator’s actual build.

Layout and upper-reel Wild source
The main field contains six reels and four rows. A separate reel sits above reels two, three, four and five. Wild substitutes for paying symbols except Scatter and appears only on that additional top reel in the checked version.
Because Wild starts above the main field, its travel path matters more than a static reel number. Capture the upper position before the round pays and the lower-left destination after the movement.
Ways are evaluated on adjacent reels from the left. Winning symbols collapse, creating another round within the same paid spin. The 10,000-way label describes the reference evaluation, not a set of visible payline drawings.
Travelling Wild movement
After wins are paid, a Wild remains and travels diagonally downwards to the left. The movement occurs between rounds, so the original grid must be settled before the Wild occupies its new position.
When a Wild reaches the first reel, it no longer remains on the field. It does not wrap to the upper reel, reverse direction or stay parked on reel one under r2.
For each move, record source coordinate, qualifying round, destination coordinate and whether the Wild exits. If several Wilds exist, track them individually rather than treating them as one trail.
The rule says Wild travels after wins are paid. A losing round therefore does not earn another move merely because the Wild is visible.
Worked main-game route
Suppose a Wild begins above reel five and the opening grid wins. Settle the ways award, collapse the winning symbols and move the Wild one step down-left. If the next grid wins, repeat the process. Continue until a grid loses or the Wild reaches reel one and leaves.
A screenshot of the final position cannot prove the number of qualifying rounds. A route ledger with round numbers prevents the Wild from being advanced twice for one win.
The travelling symbol may substitute on its new grid, but its presence does not guarantee that the grid will win and move it again.
Free Spins multiplier grows by one per spin
Four Scatters anywhere award 8 free spins; every additional Scatter adds two. The feature begins with a 1× win multiplier. At the end of each free spin, its total win is multiplied by the current factor.
After every free spin, the multiplier increases by one. Any Wild remains and travels diagonally down-left into the next free spin. This is different from main-game movement between collapse rounds: the feature explicitly carries the Wild from one free spin to the next.
A +1 symbol appearing during the feature awards one extra free spin. Record the extension separately from the factor increase. The +1 symbol does not itself add one to the multiplier under the checked wording.
Free Spins ledger example
Free Spin one uses 1×. After settlement, raise the factor to 2× and move each Wild down-left for Free Spin two. Settle the second spin at 2×, then prepare 3×. Continue the same sequence even if a spin has no award; the rule increases the factor after every free spin.
If a +1 symbol appears on Free Spin three, add one to the remaining-spin count and still perform the ordinary post-spin multiplier increase. Record the Wild’s position before and after the transition.
This ledger separates three counters: remaining Free Spins, current multiplier and each Wild’s route position. Combining them into one “progress” note makes settlement impossible to reproduce.
Resolving the 96.63/96.65 conflict
The r2 rules file and catalogue card differ by 0.02 percentage points and disagree on volatility. Do not average them into 96.64% or call the game medium volatility. Neither source publishes that result.
Open in-game Help and photograph the title, version, RTP and volatility if shown. If Help matches 96.65%, treat r2 as an earlier reference. If it matches 96.63%, record that the current deployment still uses the PDF configuration. Where volatility is not disclosed, leave it unresolved.
Maximum, stakes and Feature Buy
Both checked sources agree on a 2,500× maximum. Reaching the cap ends the spin or feature. It is a ceiling, not an extra prize or probability.
The PDF lists bet sizes 0.01, 0.1 and 0.5 over ten levels, giving EUR defaults of €0.20–€100. These do not establish NZD limits. Read total stake and currency from the loaded client.
Version r2 describes a Feature Buy menu without proving territorial availability or a single price. Capture the quote and RTP disclosure before purchase if the control is offered.
Mobile and history checks
PG Soft lists iOS, Android, HTML5, macOS and Windows with a 1080×2340 portrait reference. On mobile, confirm that the additional top reel, diagonal route, factor, remaining spins, +1 symbols and total stake remain legible.
After an interruption, match server history to the round ID, stake, Wild positions, collapse movements, free-spin transitions, factor and final settlement. A resumed animation may show the destination without replaying the source event.
Demo and New Zealand boundary
The provider may expose an official preview. The sponsored links here are not labelled as a Cruise Royale demo. The global catalogue does not prove availability through 22Bet or for a New Zealand account.
Verify authenticated lobby access and territorial terms separately from the game rules. Report any loaded difference with a date and evidence.
Player-fit assessment
Cruise Royale may suit readers who enjoy tracking a visible route and a predictable feature multiplier sequence. It may be a poor fit for someone who wants fixed paylines or no persistent state. The unresolved volatility label is itself a reason to inspect Help before choosing.
Set money and time limits. A Wild near the left edge is not guaranteed another qualifying win, and a rising Free Spins multiplier cannot turn a losing spin into a win.
Evidence checklist
For a clean comparison, make two evidence bundles rather than mixing the catalogue and r2 PDF. The catalogue bundle should contain its 96.65% and high-volatility card with retrieval date. The rules bundle should contain the 96.63% table, low-volatility label and version header. A third live-Help bundle can then match one source, reveal another build or leave the conflict unresolved without altering either original record.
Keep the screenshots uncropped so the source identity remains visible.
- Match ID 1473388 and the loaded version.
- Record live RTP instead of averaging 96.63 and 96.65.
- Preserve any disclosed volatility label.
- Mark each Wild’s upper-reel starting point.
- Move it only after the documented qualifying stage.
- Remove it when it reaches reel one.
- Track Free Spins, multiplier and route separately.
- Save stake, round ID and server settlement.

How to verify the version you can actually open
A provider page proves that a title exists and describes the supplier's intended rules. It does not prove that a casino accepts players in New Zealand, that the title is enabled for a particular account, or that the highest published RTP is the version in the lobby. Treat availability, operator eligibility and product configuration as three separate checks.
Start with identity, then configuration
Open the game only through the authenticated casino lobby. The information or help panel should identify PG Soft, the exact title and the active mathematical return. Compare the reel or grid layout, paylines or cluster rules, named features and symbol behaviour with the official product material. Similar artwork or a matching title is not enough when the help file is missing or inconsistent.
When the supplier publishes several RTP values, report all of them as configurations. Do not assume the highest option is deployed. RTP is a theoretical long-run measure across a very large number of rounds; it is not a refund rate for one player and cannot predict the next result. Volatility is different: it describes how unevenly results are distributed on the provider's scale.
Read stake controls as money, not interface decoration
Provider sheets often quote a reference range in euros. That range does not establish New Zealand-dollar support or the limits in a specific account. Before a paid round, identify the total amount that will leave the balance. If the interface separates denomination, coins and lines, verify the combined total. If Extra Bet is active, calculate its full cost before pressing spin.
Feature-buy prices are multiples of the current bet, not promised returns. A 100x purchase at a $1 stake costs $100; at a $2 stake it costs $200. Availability can vary by market and some mathematical configurations may not support the control. If the live help does not explain the price, delivered feature and active RTP, leave the option unused.
Keep simulation figures in their proper scope
A game sheet may publish a maximum result observed in a large simulation. That is not automatically the contractual maximum payout and never describes a likely session. Preserve the provider's wording, sample size and configuration. Check the live rules for a binding cap and the operator terms for any separate payout limit. Do not turn an extreme result into a promotional headline.
Audit a disputed round
If an animation freezes or a connection drops, do not repeat the wager immediately. Reopen the game through the authenticated lobby and inspect round history. Record the time, total stake, balance movement and round identifier. The result can be settled by the gaming system even when the device never displays the final animation. Send evidence through verified operator support; never disclose a password, recovery phrase or one-time code.
Read the paytable as a calculation document
The paytable should explain what creates a win, which symbols substitute, where special symbols can land and how multiple awards combine. For line games, confirm direction and active paylines. For cluster games, confirm adjacency, minimum group size and the order of collection. For respins, identify what remains locked, what resets the counter and what ends the feature. A graphic effect can illustrate those rules but cannot replace them.
Separate addition from multiplication. Several prize values may be added before a multiplier applies, while reel-specific multipliers can sometimes multiply together only when each reel participates in the same win. Reconstruct one low-stake result from game history. If the arithmetic cannot be matched to the help file, stop and ask the operator rather than guessing.
Do not confuse hit frequency with a profitable round
Provider sheets can publish hit frequency or category probabilities. A hit simply means a round returned a qualifying amount; it can be smaller than the stake. “Big”, “Mega” or “Epic” thresholds are provider reporting categories, not promises. They are useful for comparing mathematical versions only when definitions and samples are the same.
Random outcomes do not become due after a long gap. A feature that appeared repeatedly in a demo or marketing clip has no obligation to repeat in a funded session. Previous rounds do not create a debt from the next random result.
Confirm market and device behaviour independently
A title can exist in the supplier catalogue while an operator disables it for a territory, currency, device or bonus. Language localisation is not evidence of legal availability. Confirm the operator's identity, accepted countries and current lobby separately from the provider review.
On mobile, verify that balance, total bet, feature state and help remain visible without overlap. On desktop, check that browser zoom does not hide a purchase control or change the apparent denomination. Mathematical configuration should not change merely because the screen changes; if the help shows another RTP, treat it as a different deployment and record it.
Keep a compact evidence record
For any fact used in a review, save the title, provider, official URL, document date when available, access date and exact territorial scope. For a live session, add the operator domain, Game ID, RTP, currency and a non-sensitive screenshot of the help panel. This makes later corrections possible when a supplier updates a sheet or an operator changes configuration.
Missing information should remain missing. Do not estimate an RTP from results, convert a euro reference range into an operator's NZD limit, or treat another casino's configuration as evidence. A transparent “not confirmed” is more useful than a precise-looking number without the correct source.
Use limits that survive the feature design
Collection meters, expanding grids, sticky symbols and near misses can make a session feel unfinished. Unless the rules explicitly preserve progress, the visible state has no value after the round or feature ends. Set a money limit and time limit before launch, count feature buys immediately, and stop at the limit even when a meter appears close to an upgrade.
No random game is an income plan. Do not borrow, use essential funds or raise the stake to recover a loss. If play stops feeling recreational, use timeout, deposit-limit or self-exclusion tools and consult the site's responsible gambling guide.
Primary source and correction path
This guide separates documented product information from market availability. Check the official source and the game help inside the exact version offered before making a decision.
