Battleground Royale rules and Wild Transformation guide
A field manual for the diamond-shaped grid, cascading multiplier, revealed-symbol conversion and the version details a player can verify without relying on promotional claims.

Battleground Royale is PG Soft catalogue ID 124. This review is based on the official English version 1.0 r4, updated 8 July 2025. It uses a diamond-shaped 3-4-5-4-3 field, collapsing symbols and a random transformation that converts every instance of one revealed ordinary symbol into Wild.
The r4 summary states 96.75% RTP, medium volatility and a 34.06% overall hit rate. The advertised theoretical maximum is 20,000x, whereas PG Soft’s one-billion-spin simulation found a highest exposure of 1,690x. The transformation triggers on every free spin, making the bonus mechanically different from the random base-game event.

The official introduction calls it a five-reel game, while the summary table says “6 Reels, 720 ways.” The visible description and 3-4-5-4-3 geometry indicate five paying reel columns; the extra central reveal position likely explains the summary-table wording. Rather than silently choose one label, this page records the discrepancy and tells readers to inspect the loaded diagram.
Reading the 720-way diamond
The outer reels show three symbols, the next pair show four and the centre reel shows five. Multiplying 3 × 4 × 5 × 4 × 3 yields 720 possible ways. Matching symbols must connect on adjacent reels from the left; these are not 720 fixed drawn paylines.
After a paid combination settles, its symbols disappear and the grid collapses. New symbols can form another win in the same paid round. The general multiplier begins at x1 and rises by one after each winning collapse. A non-winning new arrangement ends the sequence.
Wild substitutes for ordinary paying symbols but not Scatter. The feature-created Wild in the exact centre remains in its position until that paid spin ends, giving the transformed state a visible anchor.
Wild Transformation step by step
During any base-game spin, Wild Transformation may trigger randomly. The centre of the middle reel reveals one of five ordinary symbol types described in the PDF: Girl, Man, Gun, Cartridge or First Aid. Every matching instance on the grid becomes Wild.
The revealed centre symbol also stays at that position as a Wild until the end of the spin. The feature therefore performs a conversion before the remaining cascade sequence finishes. It does not merely add one isolated Wild.
The r4 document identifies the eligible symbol set but does not publish trigger probability or the probability of each reveal. Avoid claims such as “frequent” or “one in N spins” unless a current mathematical source supplies that number.
Free spins make transformation mandatory
Three Scatters appearing anywhere award eight free spins. Every additional triggering Scatter adds two. The feature can retrigger, so a counter may extend after it begins.
The bonus multiplier starts at x1 and increases by one after a winning collapse. Most importantly, Wild Transformation triggers at the start of every free spin. That replaces the random base-game timing with a guaranteed transformation event for each awarded bonus round.
The revealed symbol can differ from one free spin to the next. Capture the reveal before the conversion animation covers the original icons. Then note the multiplier after each paid cascade and confirm that the counter changes correctly when extra Scatters land.
Feature Buy and live pricing
PG Soft shows a Feature Buy menu for purchasing the Free Spins Feature at the price displayed in the client. The r4 PDF does not give a fixed multiple or currency amount. This guide therefore leaves the price to the live confirmation screen.
The option can be restricted by territory or operator configuration. Its appearance in a supplier file does not establish availability to New Zealand users. When visible, record the selected stake, displayed purchase price, currency and rule summary before accepting.
Feature purchase changes entry into the bonus; it does not turn the theoretical maximum into an expected award. If the loaded game states a separate RTP for the option, document that configuration instead of applying 96.75% automatically.
RTP distribution and event rates
PG Soft attributes 71.36% RTP to the main game and 25.39% to free spins, totalling 96.75%. This split shows the contribution of each part in the model. It is not a forecast that a particular deposit will return those percentages in the same proportions.
The overall hit rate is 34.06%, divided into 33.57% for main-game hits and 0.49% for the feature. A hit can be smaller than the total stake, so frequency should not be confused with profitability.
The r4 summary lists Big Win, Mega Win and Super Mega Win frequencies as 1 in 273, 1 in 779 and 1 in 631. The final value being more frequent than the middle one is what the official document states; it should be reported faithfully rather than reordered. Those labels use PG Soft’s standard x20–x35, x35–x50 and x50-plus bands.
Maximum-win evidence
20,000x is the advertised theoretical maximum. 1,690x is the maximum exposure observed by PG Soft in one billion simulated spins. The gap is significant, but the values are not competing measurements of the same thing.
At the €0.20 reference stake, 1,690x equals €338 while 20,000x equals €4,000 as simple arithmetic. This does not confirm an operator payout, the chance of either result or any NZD amount. It only illustrates why the labels must remain attached.
The official file does not state the probability of the 20,000x cap. Marketing copy that displays only the cap removes useful simulation context; a review that displays only 1,690x incorrectly replaces the model ceiling.
A transformation audit example
Suppose the centre reveals the First Aid symbol. Before conversion, take note of every First Aid position. All matching symbols should become Wild, and the centre reveal should remain Wild through the rest of the spin. If the resulting grid wins, paid symbols collapse and the multiplier increases.
On the next collapse, converted Wilds that were part of the winning arrangement may be removed according to settlement. The persistent statement applies specifically to the revealed centre position until the end of the spin. A recording is clearer than a single after-state screenshot because it preserves which symbols were converted.
During free spins, repeat the same check on every round because transformation is guaranteed there. If one free spin begins without a reveal, first confirm whether the animation was skipped by Turbo, then consult History and Help before concluding the rules differ.
Paytable and stakes
The PDF verifies 720 ways and substitution rules, but individual symbol amounts are presented visually. Exact awards should be read from the loaded Paytable with the current total bet. This avoids importing values from a secondary review or a different game build.
Reference configuration uses bet sizes 0.01, 0.1 and 0.5, ten levels and EUR defaults from €0.20 to €100. Those settings are not a promise of euro or NZD limits at an operator. Always record the final total rather than one selector component.
Auto Spin offers optional stop conditions and Turbo reduces spin duration. Neither changes the model. For transformation checks, normal speed is preferable because it leaves time to identify the revealed symbol and conversion set.
Mobile evidence
Supported platforms are iOS, Android, HTML5, macOS and Windows, with an optimal portrait reference of 1080 by 2340. Technical support does not confirm territorial access.
On a phone, make sure the outer three-row reels are not clipped and the central reveal remains distinguishable from reel symbols. The multiplier, remaining free spins and final win should be readable without horizontal scrolling. Use History when motion or interface overlays hide a stage.
A complete mobile record contains the game title, Help version, total stake, centre reveal, converted grid and settlement entry. This is enough to explain most feature questions while avoiding unnecessary account information.
Demo and availability boundaries
There is no embedded Battleground Royale demo on this page. Sponsored links are commercial navigation, not evidence that a playable copy exists at the destination.
The PG Soft catalogue establishes that the game and r4 document exist. It does not prove New Zealand availability, inclusion at 22Bet, NZD wagering or legal eligibility. Check the authenticated lobby and current terms separately.
Do not assume that an operator carrying other PG Soft titles carries this one. Catalogues describe supplier inventory; operator lobbies describe deployment.
Who may find the mechanics useful
Battleground Royale may suit readers who enjoy a visible conversion event and a multiplier that advances through cascades. The transformation can be audited: identify one symbol class, follow every converted position and reconcile the resulting ways.
It may be less suitable for someone who dislikes war imagery, wants a fixed-line layout or expects the same feature frequency in base play and free spins. The theme has no bearing on odds. Define affordable limits independently of the medium-volatility label; the responsible gambling guide provides planning tools.

How to verify the version you can actually open
A provider page proves that a title exists and describes the supplier's intended rules. It does not prove that a casino accepts players in New Zealand, that the title is enabled for a particular account, or that the highest published RTP is the version in the lobby. Treat availability, operator eligibility and product configuration as three separate checks.
Start with identity, then configuration
Open the game only through the authenticated casino lobby. The information or help panel should identify PG Soft, the exact title and the active mathematical return. Compare the reel or grid layout, paylines or cluster rules, named features and symbol behaviour with the official product material. Similar artwork or a matching title is not enough when the help file is missing or inconsistent.
When the supplier publishes several RTP values, report all of them as configurations. Do not assume the highest option is deployed. RTP is a theoretical long-run measure across a very large number of rounds; it is not a refund rate for one player and cannot predict the next result. Volatility is different: it describes how unevenly results are distributed on the provider's scale.
Read stake controls as money, not interface decoration
Provider sheets often quote a reference range in euros. That range does not establish New Zealand-dollar support or the limits in a specific account. Before a paid round, identify the total amount that will leave the balance. If the interface separates denomination, coins and lines, verify the combined total. If Extra Bet is active, calculate its full cost before pressing spin.
Feature-buy prices are multiples of the current bet, not promised returns. A 100x purchase at a $1 stake costs $100; at a $2 stake it costs $200. Availability can vary by market and some mathematical configurations may not support the control. If the live help does not explain the price, delivered feature and active RTP, leave the option unused.
Keep simulation figures in their proper scope
A game sheet may publish a maximum result observed in a large simulation. That is not automatically the contractual maximum payout and never describes a likely session. Preserve the provider's wording, sample size and configuration. Check the live rules for a binding cap and the operator terms for any separate payout limit. Do not turn an extreme result into a promotional headline.
Audit a disputed round
If an animation freezes or a connection drops, do not repeat the wager immediately. Reopen the game through the authenticated lobby and inspect round history. Record the time, total stake, balance movement and round identifier. The result can be settled by the gaming system even when the device never displays the final animation. Send evidence through verified operator support; never disclose a password, recovery phrase or one-time code.
Read the paytable as a calculation document
The paytable should explain what creates a win, which symbols substitute, where special symbols can land and how multiple awards combine. For line games, confirm direction and active paylines. For cluster games, confirm adjacency, minimum group size and the order of collection. For respins, identify what remains locked, what resets the counter and what ends the feature. A graphic effect can illustrate those rules but cannot replace them.
Separate addition from multiplication. Several prize values may be added before a multiplier applies, while reel-specific multipliers can sometimes multiply together only when each reel participates in the same win. Reconstruct one low-stake result from game history. If the arithmetic cannot be matched to the help file, stop and ask the operator rather than guessing.
Do not confuse hit frequency with a profitable round
Provider sheets can publish hit frequency or category probabilities. A hit simply means a round returned a qualifying amount; it can be smaller than the stake. “Big”, “Mega” or “Epic” thresholds are provider reporting categories, not promises. They are useful for comparing mathematical versions only when definitions and samples are the same.
Random outcomes do not become due after a long gap. A feature that appeared repeatedly in a demo or marketing clip has no obligation to repeat in a funded session. Previous rounds do not create a debt from the next random result.
Confirm market and device behaviour independently
A title can exist in the supplier catalogue while an operator disables it for a territory, currency, device or bonus. Language localisation is not evidence of legal availability. Confirm the operator's identity, accepted countries and current lobby separately from the provider review.
On mobile, verify that balance, total bet, feature state and help remain visible without overlap. On desktop, check that browser zoom does not hide a purchase control or change the apparent denomination. Mathematical configuration should not change merely because the screen changes; if the help shows another RTP, treat it as a different deployment and record it.
Keep a compact evidence record
For any fact used in a review, save the title, provider, official URL, document date when available, access date and exact territorial scope. For a live session, add the operator domain, Game ID, RTP, currency and a non-sensitive screenshot of the help panel. This makes later corrections possible when a supplier updates a sheet or an operator changes configuration.
Missing information should remain missing. Do not estimate an RTP from results, convert a euro reference range into an operator's NZD limit, or treat another casino's configuration as evidence. A transparent “not confirmed” is more useful than a precise-looking number without the correct source.
Use limits that survive the feature design
Collection meters, expanding grids, sticky symbols and near misses can make a session feel unfinished. Unless the rules explicitly preserve progress, the visible state has no value after the round or feature ends. Set a money limit and time limit before launch, count feature buys immediately, and stop at the limit even when a meter appears close to an upgrade.
No random game is an income plan. Do not borrow, use essential funds or raise the stake to recover a loss. If play stops feeling recreational, use timeout, deposit-limit or self-exclusion tools and consult the site's responsible gambling guide.
Primary source and correction path
This guide separates documented product information from market availability. Check the official source and the game help inside the exact version offered before making a decision.
