Tai the Toad — five reel meters control every Pot reveal

The Prosperity Pot turns all visible Toads into one symbol type, while each reel's point meter controls how many Toad positions it receives.

Tai the Toad by Hacksaw Gaming is a five-by-five payline game. The provider publishes a maximum win cap of 7,500× bet in the base game, Toad Bonus and Golden Toad Bonus.

Toad and Prosperity Pot

Toad symbols reveal either Wilds or Gold Coins when a Prosperity Pot activates; every Toad in one activation reveals the same type. The Pot previews the result and then transforms into that symbol too.

Gold Coins are bet multipliers and add together before application. A Toad can instead reveal a Coin Bag. A Bag shows 2×, 3×, 4× or 5× and multiplies one to five Gold Coins. One coin pile can be hit repeatedly by the same or different Bags.

Toad Bonus

Three FS scatters start ten spins. Dragon symbols add one to five Toad Points to the meter above their reel; Double Dragons add one to five to every reel. When the Pot lands, each reel receives as many random Toad positions as its current meter value, then those meters reset.

Filling every reel meter simultaneously adds ten spins. Three FS symbols during the bonus add four spins. Four upgrade the feature to Golden Toad Bonus and set remaining spins to ten only when fewer than ten remain.

Golden Toad Bonus

Four base-game scatters start this mode directly with ten spins. Its key difference is persistence: Toad Point meters do not reset after each Pot activation. The other Toad Bonus rules continue to apply.

Evidence limits

The source confirms mechanics and the 7,500× cap but does not expose readable RTP, stake limits or New Zealand casino availability.

Five reel-specific point meters

Maintain one Toad Point total for each of the five reels. A local Dragon adds one to five points only to the meter above its landing reel. A Double Dragon adds one to five points to every reel meter.

Record the displayed Dragon value, source coordinate and all five totals before and after the event. Do not spread an ordinary Dragon’s points across the grid.

The meters control how many random Toad positions each reel receives when the Prosperity Pot activates.

Ordinary Dragon event

Assign every Dragon a stable ID and record its one-to-five value. Update only the corresponding reel meter. If several Dragons land, preserve their event order or combined transition from the live history.

The value adds Toad Points; it is not itself a cash multiplier. Keep meter arithmetic separate from round settlement.

If the meter has a documented cap, use the deployed help. The public overview does not publish a numerical ceiling.

Double Dragon event

A Double Dragon adds its one-to-five value to all five meters. Store the opening vector, addition and closing vector. For example, a displayed 3 adds three to each reel total, not fifteen to one shared meter.

If a local Dragon and Double Dragon occur together, apply the live event order and retain intermediate states. This makes the final reel-specific totals reproducible.

Do not assume Double Dragon also creates Toad positions immediately; the Pot controls placement.

Prosperity Pot activation

When the Pot lands, record the five-meter vector before any positions are chosen. Reel one receives the number of random Toad positions stated by meter one, and the same mapping applies independently through reel five.

Save every generated coordinate. Random placement means the article should not promise rows or patterns from prior activations.

The Pot previews the reveal result and then transforms into that symbol too, so preserve its coordinate as an additional transformed position.

One reveal type per activation

Every Toad in one Pot activation reveals the same type: Wild or Gold Coin under the core rule, with Coin Bag possible as described by the provider. Record the preview before transformations.

Do not mix Wild and Coin results within one activation unless the live help documents an exception. The shared preview is the evidence for consistent type.

After reveal, evaluate the complete transformed grid through the paytable.

Wild reveal

When the Pot previews Wild, mark every Toad coordinate and the Pot cell that becomes Wild. Obtain substitution rules from the deployed help before calculating awards.

The number of Wild positions comes from the five meters and random placements; it is not a fixed feature count.

A large Wild set does not guarantee a paying line. Settlement depends on the five-by-five payline layout and other symbols.

Gold Coin reveal

Gold Coins display bet multipliers. Record each coin coordinate and value. Coin values add together before application to the documented complete bet.

Do not multiply coins together. Keep the additive coin subtotal separate from later Coin Bag effects.

The current publisher page lists possible Gold Coin values of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 50, 75, 100, 250, 500, 750 and 1,000 bet units. Use the value actually revealed, not the largest item in that list.

Coin Bag reveal

A Toad can reveal a Coin Bag displaying 2×, 3×, 4× or 5×. The Bag multiplies one to five Gold Coins. Record the Bag factor and each targeted coin.

One coin pile can be hit repeatedly by the same or different Bags. Preserve the chronological value after every hit; do not apply all factors to the original amount independently.

The number of targeted coins is an observed one-to-five outcome, not guaranteed coverage.

Worked repeated-hit example

Suppose a Gold Coin begins at 4× bet. A 2× Bag targets it, then a later 3× Bag targets the updated pile. Record the intermediate and final value in the order shown by the game.

Do not replace sequential multiplication with addition of Bag labels. Also do not apply a Bag to coins outside its documented target set.

Illustrative values explain order and do not claim probability or payout.

Meter reset in Toad Bonus

Three FS scatters trigger Toad Bonus with ten spins. Save the trigger grid, initial counter and five zero or displayed starting meters.

After a Pot activation, the reel meters reset in this mode. Record the vector immediately before placement and confirm the post-activation reset.

Toad positions and settlement belong to the current spin; meter progress begins again for later spins.

Filling all meters simultaneously

When every reel meter is full at the same time, ten spins are added. Record each meter’s threshold state and the counter before and after the event.

The public page does not publish the fill threshold numerically, so read it from the deployed interface. Do not infer fullness merely from similar bar lengths.

After the extension, apply the ordinary mode’s Pot-reset rule unless an upgrade has occurred.

Toad Bonus scatter extensions

Three FS symbols during the bonus add four spins. Four FS symbols upgrade the feature to Golden Toad Bonus and set remaining spins to ten only when fewer than ten remain.

Record scatter count and counter before the event. The upgrade rule is conditional: if ten or more remain, do not add an invented reset.

Keep scatter extensions separate from the all-meters-full ten-spin award.

Golden Toad direct entry

Four base-game scatters start Golden Toad Bonus directly with ten spins. Save all four coordinates, initial counter and five meter states.

The key difference is persistence: meters do not reset after Pot activation. Copy their values forward after each reveal.

The other published Toad Bonus mechanics continue unless the deployed help provides a specific exception.

Upgrading into Golden mode

When four FS symbols appear during Toad Bonus, change the mode label and apply the conditional counter rule. Preserve existing meters through the transition as shown by the live game.

From that point, Pot activations no longer reset points. Open a new persistence ledger rather than retroactively restoring points consumed earlier in ordinary mode.

Record the exact feature spin on which the upgrade occurs.

Worked meter example

Suppose the five-meter vector is [2, 1, 3, 0, 2]. A local Dragon worth 4 lands on reel four, producing [2, 1, 3, 4, 2]. A Double Dragon worth 2 then produces [4, 3, 5, 6, 4].

At Pot activation, each reel receives its own number of random Toad positions under the live cap and layout. In ordinary Toad Bonus the meters reset; in Golden they persist.

The example explains vector arithmetic and supplies no payout claim.

Bonus ledger

Use one row per primary Free Spin with mode, counter, opening meter vector, Dragon events, closing vector, Pot preview, generated coordinates, reveal type, Bag operations and settlement.

Keep any nested animation inside the same primary spin. Record counter changes from scatters or full meters separately.

At feature end, reconcile all credits with account history and clear the meter state.

Payline and settlement requirements

Obtain all payline paths, symbol values, Wild substitutions, coin rules and bet definition from the deployed help. The provider overview gives feature logic but not a complete readable paytable.

For a Wild reveal, settle paylines from the final grid. For coins, total values after all ordered Bag hits and apply the documented bet.

Compare the result with the 7,500× cap and server history.

RTP, stakes and cap

Readable RTP, minimum and maximum stake, default denomination and volatility are absent from the public page. Collect them from the exact deployment with operator, currency, version and date.

The 7,500× cap applies to base game and both bonuses as a ceiling, not an expected result.

If multiple RTP settings exist, publish only the tested configuration.

New Zealand availability

The global provider page does not prove real-money access in New Zealand. Verify country terms, registration eligibility, authenticated catalogue and successful launch.

NZD support, payments, verification and withdrawals are operator facts. Source them separately and date the check.

A demo is insufficient. Do not advise bypassing location controls.

Mobile and accessibility checks

On mobile, the five-by-five grid, five separate meters, Dragon values, Pot preview, coin values, Bag targets and counter must remain visible. Test portrait and landscape modes.

Reel meters need numerical labels beyond colour. Bag targets and operation order should remain clear with reduced motion. Keyboard focus must reach help, paytable and history.

After interruption, compare mode, vector, counter, balance and round identifier with server history.

Support-ready evidence

For a meter issue, provide opening vector, Dragon source and closing vector. For Pot placement, provide meter totals and generated coordinates. For Bags, provide factor, targets and chronological coin values.

For upgrades, attach scatter grid, mode transition and counter before and after. Include operator, version, stake, currency and round identifier.

Never share passwords, one-time codes, private keys or seed phrases. Ask authenticated support to inspect server events.

Session controls

Nearly full meters and persistent Golden progress can feel like stored value. They exist only inside the active bonus and do not make a Pot or upgrade due.

Set stake, spending and time limits before play. Do not increase stakes to chase full meters, repeated Bags or the 7,500× cap.

Mechanical knowledge supports settlement review, not prediction. Use responsible-play controls and stop at the chosen boundary.

Publication checklist

  • Maintain five independent meter totals.
  • Apply ordinary Dragon points only to its reel.
  • Apply Double Dragon points to all five reels.
  • Use meter values to determine reel-specific Toad counts.
  • Transform all Toads in one activation to the previewed type.
  • Add Gold Coin values before bet application.
  • Apply Bag factors chronologically to documented targets.
  • Reset meters after Pot in ordinary Toad Bonus.
  • Preserve meters after Pot in Golden Toad Bonus.
  • Verify RTP, stakes and New Zealand access from primary evidence.

Editorial assessment

Tai the Toad is governed by a five-number state vector. Dragon events change one or all entries, the Pot converts each reel’s total into random positions, and the bonus mode decides whether those totals reset.

A rigorous review records the vector and ordered Coin Bag operations while reporting 7,500× only as a cap. Missing RTP, stakes and local availability remain unclaimed until verified live.

Several Dragons on one spin

When several local Dragons and Double Dragons appear, record each source before changing the vector. Apply local additions to their matching reel entries and global additions to all five. Preserve intermediate vectors if the interface resolves events sequentially.

This prevents a Double Dragon value from being applied only once or a local Dragon from leaking into neighbouring meters. If the game presents one combined update, use the final counter transition and retain all source symbols in the evidence packet.

No meter addition is a cash award by itself. It changes the position count available at a later Pot activation.

Pot placement limits

A reel cannot display more distinct Toad positions than its active cells. If a meter value exceeds visible capacity, the deployed help must define capping, stacking or another treatment. Do not place duplicate Toads in one coordinate to satisfy an assumed count.

Record the meter value and actual generated cells. If they differ, preserve the event and request primary clarification before declaring an error.

This edge case is especially important in Golden mode because values persist across activations and can continue growing.

Several Coin Bags and shared targets

One coin pile can be targeted repeatedly by the same or different Bags. Use stable coin IDs and write every operation in order. A target list should identify which of the one-to-five coins each Bag affects.

Do not multiply every coin on the grid by every Bag. Nor should a coin be reset to its original value before a later hit. The closing value of one event becomes the opening value of the next.

After all Bags resolve, add the final coin values and apply the bet under the live rule.

A target-specific Coin Bag worksheet

Repeated hits require an operation log for each coin, not one multiplier for the whole grid. Consider an invented reveal with Coins C1, C2 and C3 initially showing 2, 5 and 10 bet units. Suppose a ×2 Bag B1 hits C1 twice and C2 once. A later ×3 Bag B2 then hits C1 once and C3 once. These named hits are hypothetical; actual targets and repeat counts must come from the replay.

State after completed operations C1 C2 C3 Current coin subtotal
Initial reveal 2 5 10 17
B1’s two hits on C1 and one on C2 8 10 10 28
B2’s hit on C1 and hit on C3 24 10 30 64

C1 follows 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 = 24; C2 follows 5 × 2 = 10; C3 follows 10 × 3 = 30. The final sum is 64 bet units. Multiplying the initial 17 by a common six would give 102, but no shared ×6 operation occurred: C1 received three hits, while C2 and C3 each received just one.

B1 is one Bag identity with several documented operations. It must not become three differently valued Bags in the record just because three animations occurred. The repeated C1 target is also the same coin pile, so its updated value of 4 becomes the input to its next ×2 hit, producing 8. Adding two ×2 labels instead would erase the sequential multiplication.

An illustrative base bet of 0.20 account-currency units would convert the closing 64 to 12.80 currency units if that is the final eligible coin sum under the active settlement rules. This arithmetic neither proves that stake is available nor promises an actual return. Keep all intermediate values in bet units and perform the final currency conversion once.

Golden upgrade changes the counter by replacement, not addition

For the four-FS-symbol upgrade, inspect the remaining counter at the game’s upgrade-comparison moment. The published rule raises a value below ten to ten and otherwise leaves it unchanged. A displayed 8 therefore becomes 10, a displayed 10 remains 10, and a displayed 14 remains 14. It does not become 18, 20 or 24 by automatically adding ten.

This comparison is distinct from the three-FS-symbol award of four additional spins and the all-meters-full award of ten additional spins. Those are additions; the Golden upgrade is a conditional floor. Do not combine their labels into one generic “extra spins” formula. If an actual spin has another awarded event, preserve the server’s operation order rather than selecting whether the counter was checked before or after that addition. The mode transition also changes subsequent meter persistence, but it does not restore points spent by an earlier ordinary-mode Pot.

Version comparison protocol

Attach each test to operator, version, currency and date. Compare meter additions, Pot placement, shared reveal type, Coin Bag ranges, reset boundary, upgrade condition and cap individually.

Archive one ordinary Toad Bonus Pot reset, one Golden persistence example and one repeated Bag hit with the matching help. These reference rounds reveal genuine changes and prevent animation differences from being treated as new mathematics.

If primary sources conflict, retain both dated configurations. Do not merge Golden persistence with ordinary reset or copy a stake range and RTP from another build.

Practical reader decision points

Before play, verify live RTP, complete stake, country eligibility, payout cap and responsible-play controls. During the bonus, the reader needs the current mode, five meter values, Dragon updates, Pot preview and generated coordinates.

For coin settlement, add Bag IDs, target coins and ordered values. These fields reconstruct the result without suggesting a Pot, full-meter award or Golden upgrade is due.

After bonus end, clear the vector and coin ledger and apply the pre-set session boundary. Persistent Golden points are temporary feature state, not account balance.

Final verification note

Before updating the article, reproduce the three- and four-scatter entries, the conditional ten-spin upgrade rule and both meter reset behaviours in current official help. Confirm that the 7,500× ceiling remains attached to all three modes.

Any field that cannot be reproduced should retain its original source date and be labelled configuration-specific. This keeps stale promotional material from being presented as current New Zealand operator evidence.

Official source

Bottom line: maintain five reel-specific point totals and note whether the active mode resets or preserves them.

How to verify the version you can actually open

A provider page proves that a title exists and describes the supplier's intended rules. It does not prove that a casino accepts players in New Zealand, that the title is enabled for a particular account, or that the highest published RTP is the version in the lobby. Treat availability, operator eligibility and product configuration as three separate checks.

Start with identity, then configuration

Open the game only through the authenticated casino lobby. The information or help panel should identify Hacksaw Gaming, the exact title and the active mathematical return. Compare the reel or grid layout, paylines or cluster rules, named features and symbol behaviour with the official product material. Similar artwork or a matching title is not enough when the help file is missing or inconsistent.

When the supplier publishes several RTP values, report all of them as configurations. Do not assume the highest option is deployed. RTP is a theoretical long-run measure across a very large number of rounds; it is not a refund rate for one player and cannot predict the next result. Volatility is different: it describes how unevenly results are distributed on the provider's scale.

Read stake controls as money, not interface decoration

Provider sheets often quote a reference range in euros. That range does not establish New Zealand-dollar support or the limits in a specific account. Before a paid round, identify the total amount that will leave the balance. If the interface separates denomination, coins and lines, verify the combined total. If Extra Bet is active, calculate its full cost before pressing spin.

Feature-buy prices are multiples of the current bet, not promised returns. A 100x purchase at a $1 stake costs $100; at a $2 stake it costs $200. Availability can vary by market and some mathematical configurations may not support the control. If the live help does not explain the price, delivered feature and active RTP, leave the option unused.

Keep simulation figures in their proper scope

A game sheet may publish a maximum result observed in a large simulation. That is not automatically the contractual maximum payout and never describes a likely session. Preserve the provider's wording, sample size and configuration. Check the live rules for a binding cap and the operator terms for any separate payout limit. Do not turn an extreme result into a promotional headline.

Audit a disputed round

If an animation freezes or a connection drops, do not repeat the wager immediately. Reopen the game through the authenticated lobby and inspect round history. Record the time, total stake, balance movement and round identifier. The result can be settled by the gaming system even when the device never displays the final animation. Send evidence through verified operator support; never disclose a password, recovery phrase or one-time code.

Read the paytable as a calculation document

The paytable should explain what creates a win, which symbols substitute, where special symbols can land and how multiple awards combine. For line games, confirm direction and active paylines. For cluster games, confirm adjacency, minimum group size and the order of collection. For respins, identify what remains locked, what resets the counter and what ends the feature. A graphic effect can illustrate those rules but cannot replace them.

Separate addition from multiplication. Several prize values may be added before a multiplier applies, while reel-specific multipliers can sometimes multiply together only when each reel participates in the same win. Reconstruct one low-stake result from game history. If the arithmetic cannot be matched to the help file, stop and ask the operator rather than guessing.

Do not confuse hit frequency with a profitable round

Provider sheets can publish hit frequency or category probabilities. A hit simply means a round returned a qualifying amount; it can be smaller than the stake. “Big”, “Mega” or “Epic” thresholds are provider reporting categories, not promises. They are useful for comparing mathematical versions only when definitions and samples are the same.

Random outcomes do not become due after a long gap. A feature that appeared repeatedly in a demo or marketing clip has no obligation to repeat in a funded session. Previous rounds do not create a debt from the next random result.

Confirm market and device behaviour independently

A title can exist in the supplier catalogue while an operator disables it for a territory, currency, device or bonus. Language localisation is not evidence of legal availability. Confirm the operator's identity, accepted countries and current lobby separately from the provider review.

On mobile, verify that balance, total bet, feature state and help remain visible without overlap. On desktop, check that browser zoom does not hide a purchase control or change the apparent denomination. Mathematical configuration should not change merely because the screen changes; if the help shows another RTP, treat it as a different deployment and record it.

Keep a compact evidence record

For any fact used in a review, save the title, provider, official URL, document date when available, access date and exact territorial scope. For a live session, add the operator domain, Game ID, RTP, currency and a non-sensitive screenshot of the help panel. This makes later corrections possible when a supplier updates a sheet or an operator changes configuration.

Missing information should remain missing. Do not estimate an RTP from results, convert a euro reference range into an operator's NZD limit, or treat another casino's configuration as evidence. A transparent “not confirmed” is more useful than a precise-looking number without the correct source.

Use limits that survive the feature design

Collection meters, expanding grids, sticky symbols and near misses can make a session feel unfinished. Unless the rules explicitly preserve progress, the visible state has no value after the round or feature ends. Set a money limit and time limit before launch, count feature buys immediately, and stop at the limit even when a meter appears close to an upgrade.

No random game is an income plan. Do not borrow, use essential funds or raise the stake to recover a loss. If play stops feeling recreational, use timeout, deposit-limit or self-exclusion tools and consult the site's responsible gambling guide.

Primary source and correction path

This guide separates documented product information from market availability. Check the official source and the game help inside the exact version offered before making a decision.
