Temple Cats by Endorphina: expanding symbol and Free Games rules
A line-by-line guide to the dual-purpose Two Cats symbol, randomly selected expander and non-adjacent feature wins.
Supplier sources below. Operator eligibility needs a separate check.

Temple Cats uses five reels, three rows and ten paylines. Endorphina publishes 96.05% RTP, high volatility and a €0.10–€45 supplier range. Its unusual element is a Two Cats symbol that acts as both Scatter and Wild, plus Free Games with a randomly selected expanding picture.
The official product page was checked on 8 October 2026. Supplier facts do not prove availability at a New Zealand operator, a local currency range or identical optional features in every deployment.

Ordinary wins use the ten enabled paylines. Trace adjacent symbols from the first reel and rely on the server line display. The Free Games expander changes one part of that logic, but it does not turn the base game into an all-ways slot.
Two Cats: Scatter and Wild
The Two Cats picture is both Scatter and Wild. As Scatter, three or more copies start ten Free Games. As Wild, it replaces regular paying symbols. During the feature it cannot substitute for the specially selected expanding symbol.
That last restriction prevents double counting. If the chosen picture is missing from a position, a Two Cats symbol cannot be mentally converted into it. Save the game’s highlighted calculation whenever the dual role creates ambiguity.
Free Games and random selection
At the start of Free Games, the game randomly chooses a special expanding symbol. The chosen picture can expand to cover three positions after ordinary wins are evaluated, but only when enough copies exist to create a win. This order matters: regular line awards are calculated before the expansion treatment.
The selected symbol is not a player choice. Record the selection screen, chosen picture and starting counter. Additional Two Cats Scatters can retrigger the feature, so track awarded, played and remaining spins separately.
Non-adjacent feature wins
Expanded special symbols can pay on non-adjacent reels during the feature. However, the official rule still ties them to enabled paylines. “Anywhere on the screen pays” would be too broad. The relevant question is whether the selected picture occupies the necessary positions on a valid line after expansion.
For a disputed award, copy the pre-expansion grid, post-expansion grid, active line and paytable value. Identify which positions were naturally present and which were filled by the expansion. This produces a reproducible explanation rather than a visual guess.
Paytable context
The Girl is the highest regular symbol and pays 500 times base bet for five on a qualifying line. That is a selected symbol value, not a universal maximum-win declaration. Lower counts and other pictures must be read directly from live help.
Multipliers depend on the provider’s definition of base bet. Before turning 500x into currency, record total stake, line count, denomination and any line-stake field. The account credit remains the authoritative monetary result.
RTP and high volatility
Endorphina’s 96.05% RTP is a long-run theoretical reference. It does not guarantee that a session returns 96.05% or set a timetable for Free Games. High volatility signals uneven outcomes relative to the provider scale and should inform budget size, not predictions.
Check the deployed help page for RTP, game ID and version. If the live figure differs, publish the two values with their respective scopes. Do not silently substitute the supplier number for an operator configuration or average them.
Stakes and local availability
The €0.10–€45 supplier range is not an NZD promise. Currency, increments and limits may be adapted by the operator. Confirm the authenticated screen before play and preserve the total-stake display for any support case.
Ten lines can make a line stake look modest while the total is larger. Adjust one control and observe the total before committing. Responsible budgeting should use the final monetary amount per spin and a pre-set session ceiling.
Bonus Pop and Risk Game
The official feature list includes Bonus Pop and a Risk Game. Either may be absent in a particular territory. If Bonus Pop appears, record purchase cost, warning, starting state and any separate RTP disclosure.
The Risk Game exposes an existing win to another result. Log original award, amount risked, choice, outcome and final balance. It should never be described as a free extension of the base spin.
Mobile and demo review
The game is listed for mobile. In portrait view, ensure the selected-symbol announcement, reel grid, expansion, counters, stake and balance are all readable. An expanding animation must not hide which line actually paid.
Use demo mode to learn sequence and terminology, not to infer real-money availability. Demo credits, feature frequency and euro endpoints do not establish New Zealand access or the live account build.
Worked expansion audit
Suppose three Two Cats symbols start ten spins and the Girl is selected. On each spin, save the original grid before the game expands any Girl positions. Record normal line wins first, then capture the expanded grid and separate special-symbol awards.
If Girls appear on non-adjacent reels, identify the enabled line that joins their final positions. Do not count every visible Girl as one global cluster. At feature end, compare the official summary with child-round awards and wallet movement once.
Common errors
One error is treating Two Cats as an unrestricted substitute during Free Games. It cannot replace the chosen expander. Another is applying non-adjacent payment to every symbol; the exception belongs to the selected expanding picture under the feature rules.
A third is assuming expansion always occurs. Endorphina says it may expand when enough symbols exist for a win. Finally, a 500x five-Girl paytable entry should not be advertised as the title’s entire win cap without explicit maximum-win evidence.
Evidence pack
Save UTC time, operator, title, game ID, version, RTP, currency, total stake, balances and parent round ID. Add trigger Scatters, selected symbol, counters, pre- and post-expansion grids, enabled lines, retriggers, feature total and final credit.
Keep originals private and redact personal information from shared images. A clear case labels each child spin and separates visual presentation from server-recorded settlement.
Pre-expansion and post-expansion accounting
The safest worksheet uses two columns for every Free Game. The first copies the settled reel symbols before expansion and lists ordinary payline awards. The second shows the expanded special symbol and only the extra routes created by that rule. This prevents the same ordinary line from being counted again after the animation fills a reel.
Non-adjacent does not mean unordered. Mark the exact positions belonging to each enabled line and compare them with the live line map. If an expanded picture appears on several reels but no enabled route joins the necessary positions, a payment should not be invented. Conversely, if the history reports an award that the animation did not make obvious, the server record and help definition are stronger evidence than a screenshot taken between states.
Questions for support
Ask which RTP build is deployed, how base bet maps to the ten lines, and how the selected symbol is evaluated before and after expansion. Request the event log for any missing retrigger or interrupted feature.
If Bonus Pop is present, ask whether its purchase path has a distinct theoretical return. If the title cannot be opened in New Zealand, ask the operator for the account or territory rule rather than relying on the global supplier catalogue.
For an expansion dispute, request both the original stop grid and the evaluated grid after the special-symbol rule. Ask support to identify the enabled payline, positions used, base value and credited amount. This is more useful than requesting a generic replay because it exposes whether the difference concerns symbol selection, expansion eligibility, line geometry or settlement.
Short answers
What triggers Free Games? Three or more Two Cats symbols.
How many spins are awarded? Ten initially, with retriggers possible.
Is the special symbol chosen by the player? No. It is selected randomly.
Can expanded symbols pay non-adjacently? Yes, but only through enabled paylines under the feature rule.
Can Two Cats replace the selected expander? No.
Is €45 the New Zealand maximum? Not necessarily; it is supplier metadata in euros.
Final assessment
Temple Cats is defined by a precise exception: one randomly selected picture can expand and pay non-adjacently during Free Games, while ordinary line structure still matters. The dual Scatter-Wild Cat adds another rule boundary that deserves explicit evidence.
Verify the deployed RTP and stakes before play. During the feature, preserve both grids and the selected symbol so every award can be traced without extrapolation.

How to verify the version you can actually open
A provider page proves that a title exists and describes the supplier's intended rules. It does not prove that a casino accepts players in New Zealand, that the title is enabled for a particular account, or that the highest published RTP is the version in the lobby. Treat availability, operator eligibility and product configuration as three separate checks.
Start with identity, then configuration
Open the game only through the authenticated casino lobby. The information or help panel should identify Endorphina, the exact title and the active mathematical return. Compare the reel or grid layout, paylines or cluster rules, named features and symbol behaviour with the official product material. Similar artwork or a matching title is not enough when the help file is missing or inconsistent.
When the supplier publishes several RTP values, report all of them as configurations. Do not assume the highest option is deployed. RTP is a theoretical long-run measure across a very large number of rounds; it is not a refund rate for one player and cannot predict the next result. Volatility is different: it describes how unevenly results are distributed on the provider's scale.
Read stake controls as money, not interface decoration
Provider sheets often quote a reference range in euros. That range does not establish New Zealand-dollar support or the limits in a specific account. Before a paid round, identify the total amount that will leave the balance. If the interface separates denomination, coins and lines, verify the combined total. If Extra Bet is active, calculate its full cost before pressing spin.
Feature-buy prices are multiples of the current bet, not promised returns. A 100x purchase at a $1 stake costs $100; at a $2 stake it costs $200. Availability can vary by market and some mathematical configurations may not support the control. If the live help does not explain the price, delivered feature and active RTP, leave the option unused.
Keep simulation figures in their proper scope
A game sheet may publish a maximum result observed in a large simulation. That is not automatically the contractual maximum payout and never describes a likely session. Preserve the provider's wording, sample size and configuration. Check the live rules for a binding cap and the operator terms for any separate payout limit. Do not turn an extreme result into a promotional headline.
Audit a disputed round
If an animation freezes or a connection drops, do not repeat the wager immediately. Reopen the game through the authenticated lobby and inspect round history. Record the time, total stake, balance movement and round identifier. The result can be settled by the gaming system even when the device never displays the final animation. Send evidence through verified operator support; never disclose a password, recovery phrase or one-time code.
Read the paytable as a calculation document
The paytable should explain what creates a win, which symbols substitute, where special symbols can land and how multiple awards combine. For line games, confirm direction and active paylines. For cluster games, confirm adjacency, minimum group size and the order of collection. For respins, identify what remains locked, what resets the counter and what ends the feature. A graphic effect can illustrate those rules but cannot replace them.
Separate addition from multiplication. Several prize values may be added before a multiplier applies, while reel-specific multipliers can sometimes multiply together only when each reel participates in the same win. Reconstruct one low-stake result from game history. If the arithmetic cannot be matched to the help file, stop and ask the operator rather than guessing.
Do not confuse hit frequency with a profitable round
Provider sheets can publish hit frequency or category probabilities. A hit simply means a round returned a qualifying amount; it can be smaller than the stake. “Big”, “Mega” or “Epic” thresholds are provider reporting categories, not promises. They are useful for comparing mathematical versions only when definitions and samples are the same.
Random outcomes do not become due after a long gap. A feature that appeared repeatedly in a demo or marketing clip has no obligation to repeat in a funded session. Previous rounds do not create a debt from the next random result.
Confirm market and device behaviour independently
A title can exist in the supplier catalogue while an operator disables it for a territory, currency, device or bonus. Language localisation is not evidence of legal availability. Confirm the operator's identity, accepted countries and current lobby separately from the provider review.
On mobile, verify that balance, total bet, feature state and help remain visible without overlap. On desktop, check that browser zoom does not hide a purchase control or change the apparent denomination. Mathematical configuration should not change merely because the screen changes; if the help shows another RTP, treat it as a different deployment and record it.
Keep a compact evidence record
For any fact used in a review, save the title, provider, official URL, document date when available, access date and exact territorial scope. For a live session, add the operator domain, Game ID, RTP, currency and a non-sensitive screenshot of the help panel. This makes later corrections possible when a supplier updates a sheet or an operator changes configuration.
Missing information should remain missing. Do not estimate an RTP from results, convert a euro reference range into an operator's NZD limit, or treat another casino's configuration as evidence. A transparent “not confirmed” is more useful than a precise-looking number without the correct source.
Use limits that survive the feature design
Collection meters, expanding grids, sticky symbols and near misses can make a session feel unfinished. Unless the rules explicitly preserve progress, the visible state has no value after the round or feature ends. Set a money limit and time limit before launch, count feature buys immediately, and stop at the limit even when a meter appears close to an upgrade.
No random game is an income plan. Do not borrow, use essential funds or raise the stake to recover a loss. If play stops feeling recreational, use timeout, deposit-limit or self-exclusion tools and consult the site's responsible gambling guide.
Primary source and correction path
This guide separates documented product information from market availability. Check the official source and the game help inside the exact version offered before making a decision.
