Mystery of Eldorado by Endorphina: expanding-symbol Free Games guide

Mystery of Eldorado uses a map Scatter to open ten retriggerable Free Games, where one randomly selected symbol can expand across its reel when it completes a win.

Mystery of Eldorado is a five-reel, three-row slot with 10 paylines. Endorphina publishes 96.05% RTP, high volatility and a €0.10–€45 supplier stake range. Three or more map Scatters start 10 Free Games, and one symbol is randomly selected to become a special expanding symbol during the feature.

Those details describe the provider profile checked on 8 October 2026. They do not confirm availability at a New Zealand operator, account currency or an identical deployed configuration. The loaded help and round history are the operational evidence.

The euro range is not an NZD limit. Record the exact game version, active RTP, currency and total stake from the account before using any numerical example.

Base-game lines and the dual-role map

Ten fixed routes cross the 5×3 grid. A visible symbol chain is payable only if it follows an enabled line under the current direction rule. Open the line overlay and keep its numbering beside any settlement worksheet.

The map is both Scatter and Wild. As a Scatter, three or more maps open the feature and five maps are published at 200× base bet. As a Wild, the map substitutes according to the paytable. Keep those two roles separate: one map can contribute to substitution without meeting the trigger count, while a trigger may also have a direct Scatter payment.

The pyramid is listed as the highest regular symbol at 500× base bet for five. The male adventurer follows at 200× and the scientist at 75×. “Base bet” must be interpreted using the live help, not assumed to equal total stake.

Ten Free Games and random selection

At feature start, one regular symbol is selected randomly. Capture that selection screen before the first spin. The chosen symbol—not every symbol—may expand during the ten Free Games. If maps retrigger the feature, record the added rounds and whether the selected symbol remains unchanged.

Endorphina states that expansion occurs after ordinary payouts and only when enough selected symbols for a win are present. It fills three positions on the reel where the symbol lands. This is conditional expansion, not an automatic full-reel transformation whenever one selected symbol appears.

The provider also says expanded symbols can pay on non-adjacent positions, but only on enabled paylines. That unusual wording makes the line map essential. Record the selected positions before expansion, the completed reel, the winning line numbers and final credit.

What the expansion does not mean

An expanding symbol is not necessarily Wild. It remains the selected paying symbol and expands only under the published feature condition. Scatter cannot substitute for the special symbol during Free Games, so do not use the map to complete that selected-symbol count.

Expansion is not described as sticky. A completed reel on one Free Game should not be assumed to persist into the next. It also does not create a separate payment merely for covering three cells; the credit comes from valid winning combinations.

If two reels contain qualifying selected symbols, mark each original location and expansion separately. Apply the game’s own line breakdown rather than multiplying a guessed number of covered positions.

Retriggers and counter reconciliation

The official description says Free Games can be won again during the feature. Create one chronological row per round with the counter before play, maps landed, rounds added, selected-symbol coordinates, expanded reels and credit.

The counter should reconcile as previous remaining rounds minus the round completed plus the documented retrigger award. If the build does not reveal the number added, preserve the before-and-after counter rather than inventing it.

Five map symbols may carry the published 200× base-bet award. Keep that Scatter credit separate from the value of newly awarded Free Games.

Bonus Pop and Risk Game

Endorphina lists Bonus Pop but warns that availability can depend on casino or jurisdiction. If offered, read its price, conditions and any alternate RTP notice. Natural map entry and an optional paid route should be labelled separately.

The classic Risk Game can double an eligible win, but it is a post-settlement decision. Save the slot credit first, then record the amount placed at risk, the choice, outcome and final balance. A lost Risk round does not mean the original combination failed to pay.

RTP and high volatility

The published 96.05% is a long-run theoretical rate for the referenced configuration, not a forecast for ten Free Games or a session. High volatility describes uneven distribution and does not make a map more likely after a dry run.

Set an affordable money limit and time limit before play. Never raise stake to chase the selected symbol or retrigger. If live help displays another RTP, preserve it with the version and date; do not average it with the provider benchmark.

Mobile and demo checks

On mobile, confirm all fifteen positions, the selected-symbol indicator, feature counter, line highlights, balance and total stake remain visible. Test both orientations and reopen the completed round from history after any connection interruption.

The official demo can teach symbol recognition and help navigation. It does not prove real-money availability, regional legality or operator limits. Demo credits have no cash value.

Worked expanding-symbol audit

Label reels A–E and rows 1–3. Suppose the chosen pyramid lands at B1, B3 and D2 and forms a valid route after expansion. Record the initial three coordinates, identify which reels expand, then shade B1–B3 and D1–D3 on a second grid.

Next, apply only the ten enabled paylines. A non-adjacent visual group is not enough without a valid route. Write each highlighted line, match length, paytable multiplier and credit. The sum should agree with the feature history.

If the map sits on a potential route, remember the provider’s restriction: it cannot substitute for the selected special symbol during Free Games. Excluding that substitution can explain why an apparently complete line did not pay.

Evidence for an operator query

Provide title, version, active RTP, UTC time, round ID, total stake, trigger grid, selected-symbol screen, pre- and post-expansion grids, counter and balances. Ask support for the server-side settlement breakdown.

Avoid relying on a cropped animation. A full result screen and history entry are more useful because expansion is evaluated after regular payouts.

Reading “non-adjacent” without turning the game into a ways system

The provider specifically says expanded selected symbols can pay on non-adjacent positions, but only on enabled paylines. That does not convert the game into a cluster or all-ways format. The 10 line shapes still govern which coordinates belong together.

Take one enabled line and write its row position on reels A through E. After a selected symbol expands, inspect only those five coordinates. They can now contain the same symbol even if the original symbols were separated before expansion. The line becomes payable because the reel was filled, not because arbitrary matching icons anywhere on the grid connect.

Repeat this exercise for every highlighted route. Do not count a newly visible symbol on a row that the line does not use. If two line shapes pass through the same expanded reel, each line may be assessed separately under the paytable.

Selected-symbol boundaries

The selected symbol is chosen once at feature start according to the public description. Preserve its artwork or label because later rounds may show only a small indicator. If a retrigger occurs, observe whether the same selection continues; do not presume a new random choice.

Expansion fills three positions because the grid has three rows. When the selected symbol already occupies two cells on one reel, the transformation may add only the missing cell. Record the pre-expansion count rather than claiming that three new symbols were created.

Maps cannot stand in for the selected symbol during Free Games. If a line contains selected symbols on reels one and two, a map on reel three and the selected symbol on reel four, exclude the map substitution when reconstructing that special-symbol win. The same map may still have another function under the paytable.

Trigger-to-summary reconciliation

Start the ledger with the paid trigger round, including line wins and direct Scatter credit. Put the 10 Free Games in a separate block. Add retriggered rounds to the counter chronologically. Sum feature credits, then compare them with the summary and post-feature balance.

This order prevents three common double counts: adding five-map credit twice, treating each expanded cell as a separate prize, and including the trigger round inside the feature total when history already reports it separately.

If the feature closes unexpectedly, note the last visible counter and request the missing round IDs. A reconnect may complete server-side settlement even when the remaining animations were not displayed.

Final assessment

Mystery of Eldorado’s defining rule is conditional expansion of one randomly selected symbol during retriggerable Free Games. The map’s dual Wild/Scatter role and inability to substitute for the selected symbol in the feature are the details most likely to be misread.

The provider source supports the grid, lines, 96.05% RTP, volatility, trigger, 10 rounds and feature sequence. Availability, currency, active RTP and optional controls remain live-account facts.

How to verify the version you can actually open

A provider page proves that a title exists and describes the supplier's intended rules. It does not prove that a casino accepts players in New Zealand, that the title is enabled for a particular account, or that the highest published RTP is the version in the lobby. Treat availability, operator eligibility and product configuration as three separate checks.

Start with identity, then configuration

Open the game only through the authenticated casino lobby. The information or help panel should identify Endorphina, the exact title and the active mathematical return. Compare the reel or grid layout, paylines or cluster rules, named features and symbol behaviour with the official product material. Similar artwork or a matching title is not enough when the help file is missing or inconsistent.

When the supplier publishes several RTP values, report all of them as configurations. Do not assume the highest option is deployed. RTP is a theoretical long-run measure across a very large number of rounds; it is not a refund rate for one player and cannot predict the next result. Volatility is different: it describes how unevenly results are distributed on the provider's scale.

Read stake controls as money, not interface decoration

Provider sheets often quote a reference range in euros. That range does not establish New Zealand-dollar support or the limits in a specific account. Before a paid round, identify the total amount that will leave the balance. If the interface separates denomination, coins and lines, verify the combined total. If Extra Bet is active, calculate its full cost before pressing spin.

Feature-buy prices are multiples of the current bet, not promised returns. A 100x purchase at a $1 stake costs $100; at a $2 stake it costs $200. Availability can vary by market and some mathematical configurations may not support the control. If the live help does not explain the price, delivered feature and active RTP, leave the option unused.

Keep simulation figures in their proper scope

A game sheet may publish a maximum result observed in a large simulation. That is not automatically the contractual maximum payout and never describes a likely session. Preserve the provider's wording, sample size and configuration. Check the live rules for a binding cap and the operator terms for any separate payout limit. Do not turn an extreme result into a promotional headline.

Audit a disputed round

If an animation freezes or a connection drops, do not repeat the wager immediately. Reopen the game through the authenticated lobby and inspect round history. Record the time, total stake, balance movement and round identifier. The result can be settled by the gaming system even when the device never displays the final animation. Send evidence through verified operator support; never disclose a password, recovery phrase or one-time code.

Read the paytable as a calculation document

The paytable should explain what creates a win, which symbols substitute, where special symbols can land and how multiple awards combine. For line games, confirm direction and active paylines. For cluster games, confirm adjacency, minimum group size and the order of collection. For respins, identify what remains locked, what resets the counter and what ends the feature. A graphic effect can illustrate those rules but cannot replace them.

Separate addition from multiplication. Several prize values may be added before a multiplier applies, while reel-specific multipliers can sometimes multiply together only when each reel participates in the same win. Reconstruct one low-stake result from game history. If the arithmetic cannot be matched to the help file, stop and ask the operator rather than guessing.

Do not confuse hit frequency with a profitable round

Provider sheets can publish hit frequency or category probabilities. A hit simply means a round returned a qualifying amount; it can be smaller than the stake. “Big”, “Mega” or “Epic” thresholds are provider reporting categories, not promises. They are useful for comparing mathematical versions only when definitions and samples are the same.

Random outcomes do not become due after a long gap. A feature that appeared repeatedly in a demo or marketing clip has no obligation to repeat in a funded session. Previous rounds do not create a debt from the next random result.

Confirm market and device behaviour independently

A title can exist in the supplier catalogue while an operator disables it for a territory, currency, device or bonus. Language localisation is not evidence of legal availability. Confirm the operator's identity, accepted countries and current lobby separately from the provider review.

On mobile, verify that balance, total bet, feature state and help remain visible without overlap. On desktop, check that browser zoom does not hide a purchase control or change the apparent denomination. Mathematical configuration should not change merely because the screen changes; if the help shows another RTP, treat it as a different deployment and record it.

Keep a compact evidence record

For any fact used in a review, save the title, provider, official URL, document date when available, access date and exact territorial scope. For a live session, add the operator domain, Game ID, RTP, currency and a non-sensitive screenshot of the help panel. This makes later corrections possible when a supplier updates a sheet or an operator changes configuration.

Missing information should remain missing. Do not estimate an RTP from results, convert a euro reference range into an operator's NZD limit, or treat another casino's configuration as evidence. A transparent “not confirmed” is more useful than a precise-looking number without the correct source.

Use limits that survive the feature design

Collection meters, expanding grids, sticky symbols and near misses can make a session feel unfinished. Unless the rules explicitly preserve progress, the visible state has no value after the round or feature ends. Set a money limit and time limit before launch, count feature buys immediately, and stop at the limit even when a meter appears close to an upgrade.

No random game is an income plan. Do not borrow, use essential funds or raise the stake to recover a loss. If play stops feeling recreational, use timeout, deposit-limit or self-exclusion tools and consult the site's responsible gambling guide.

Primary source and correction path

This guide separates documented product information from market availability. Check the official source and the game help inside the exact version offered before making a decision.
