Endorphina Football family: three versions, three rule sets

Football, Football:2022 and Football 2026 share a pitch theme but not the same mathematics. This canonical guide separates every grid, RTP and bonus route.

Supplier sources below. Operator eligibility needs a separate check.

Football by Endorphina is a family name, not one interchangeable game. The original Football uses a 5×3 grid, 21 lines, 96.00% RTP and low volatility. Football:2022 changes that to 5×3, 10 fixed lines, 96.15% and low volatility. Football 2026 moves to 5×4, 100 fixed paylines, 96.05% and high volatility.

That difference is the central finding. A review that merges the numbers would send a reader to the wrong paytable. Always match the title and game ID shown in the lobby to the corresponding help screen.

Version comparison

Version Grid Win structure RTP Volatility Provider stake reference
Football 5×3 21 lines 96.00% Low €0.21–€189
Football:2022 5×3 10 fixed lines 96.15% Low €0.10–€200
Football 2026 5×4 100 fixed lines 96.05% High €1–€80

These are dated studio-page values, not NZD limits. Do not convert them mechanically: an operator can configure currency increments and may deploy a different approved build.

Original Football rules

The original page lists Wild, Scatter, in-game Free Spins, multiplier, Bonus Pop and Risk Game. Its description says the ball is Wild and substitutes for ordinary symbols except scattered symbols. The cup is described in older copy as a joker that pays on its own, while the whistle triggers Free Games.

Three whistles award 15 Free Games, four award 30 and five award 45 according to the provider’s checked symbol notes. Record the trigger screen and opening counter because a live build may present revised wording. The top-paying boot is listed at 6× base bet for five of a kind; confirm how base bet is defined before calculation.

With 21 lines, document direction and active-line behaviour. Save total debit, winning path and paytable unit. Do not assume that selecting a higher displayed coin value activates more lines unless the controls explicitly say so.

Football:2022 rules

Football:2022 reduces the published structure to ten fixed lines. The page lists Wild, Scatter and Bonus Pop, and publishes 96.15% at low volatility. Its short description does not supply enough detail to reconstruct every award, so the embedded help remains essential.

The correct audit identifies the exact title including the colon and year. Capture the game ID, Wild exclusions, Scatter count, bonus entry and paytable. A football skin does not mean the original game’s 15/30/45 Free Games ladder carries over.

The lower €0.10 provider reference cannot be advertised as a New Zealand minimum. Verify the currency selector and total stake in the authenticated account.

Football 2026 rules

Football 2026 is structurally the largest: 5×4, 100 fixed paylines, high volatility and 96.05% provider RTP. Endorphina lists Hold and Win, Pile, jackpots, Bonus Pop and Risk Game. The description names Collector, Extended and Boost goals plus MIN, MID, MAX and ULTRA jackpot labels.

For Hold and Win, record the trigger, starting locked values, respins, resets and every modifier. “Collector”, “Extended” and “Boost” should each have its own ledger; do not infer their effect from the label. A displayed jackpot name can represent a fixed multiple, configured amount or progressive pool, so check help before quoting a number.

Pile is also a named feature. Document what fills it, when it activates and whether progress resets. A stadium animation or crowd reaction is presentation, not an additional payment.

Why the RTP values cannot be blended

The three published RTPs are close, but averaging them would create a number that belongs to no game. RTP applies to a specific mathematical configuration across a very large number of rounds. It is not a score and does not predict a session.

Store title, build identifier, operator, mode, RTP and date together. If live help differs from the public studio page, preserve both pieces of evidence and label their scope. The operator build controls the session; the provider page is a comparison reference.

Volatility changes the budget question

Original Football and Football:2022 are labelled low volatility, while Football 2026 is high. This does not make one safer or more profitable. It describes how unevenly outcomes may be distributed under the game model.

For the high-volatility version, a smaller ordinary stake leaves more rounds inside a fixed cap. For low volatility, the same stop-loss and time boundary still matter. Do not raise stakes after conceding a goal-themed animation or a run without features.

Paytable and symbol audit

For each version, save a clean paytable before relying on symbol values. Record whether awards are stated in total-bet multiples, line-bet multiples or credits. Verify Wild substitution, Scatter independence, left-to-right direction and whether adjacent reels are required.

Build separate worksheets named Football, Football:2022 and Football 2026. Reusing one sheet invites feature leakage—for example, putting Hold and Win into the original game or importing the 45-spin ladder into 2022.

Risk Game and Bonus Pop

Risk Game appears on the original and 2026 pages. Where offered, confirm eligibility, tie rule, maximum attempts and the loss condition. Record the settled win before the first card and every subsequent balance. Choosing not to gamble an award is always valid.

Bonus Pop appears in the listed features, but optional paid access can be disabled by operator or jurisdiction. If available, capture its price, underlying stake, destination feature and mode-specific RTP. Never describe a purchased entry as a guaranteed return.

Mobile and demo use

The official pages expose demo links, subject to location and age controls. Demo is useful for locating rules but does not establish funded access, account currency or identical settings.

On mobile, check that title suffix, line count, total stake, feature counter and history remain visible. The 100-line 5×4 version contains more state information, so test portrait and landscape at enlarged text. After any disconnect, inspect history before continuing.

New Zealand scope

No official source checked here confirms that a named NZ-facing operator offers all three versions. A studio catalogue listing is not an operator availability statement. Confirm the casino entity, country terms and authenticated lobby separately.

If only “Football” is shown, do not guess the year from artwork. Open help and match grid, lines and RTP. Mark the exact version unavailable when those identifiers cannot be established.

Worked identification example

A 5×4 game with 100 fixed lines, high volatility and Hold and Win is consistent with Football 2026, not the earlier titles. A 5×3 game with ten fixed lines and 96.15% points to Football:2022. A 5×3 game with 21 lines and the 15/30/45 whistle ladder points to original Football.

This is identification, not proof of NZ legality or a recommendation. Save the live title and game ID because an operator label can be shortened.

Common questions

Which version has the highest listed RTP?

Football:2022 at 96.15% on the checked provider page.

Which version has 100 lines?

Football 2026, using a 5×4 grid.

Are all three low volatility?

No. Football 2026 is labelled high; the earlier two are labelled low.

Can the original rules be applied to 2026?

No. They are separate builds with different grids, features and settings.

Is any version confirmed for a NZ account?

Not by the studio evidence alone.

Final assessment

Endorphina’s Football titles demonstrate why theme-based reviews fail. The original is a 21-line Free Games game; 2022 is a ten-line variant; 2026 is a high-volatility 100-line Hold-and-Win design.

The practical choice begins with version identification, not a headline RTP comparison. Use the correct live help, preserve the dated evidence and keep sport imagery separate from claims about performance.

Version-switching checklist

If the lobby presents more than one Football tile, open each help file without placing a wager. Compare the complete title, grid, line count, RTP, volatility and feature list. Save the game IDs because artwork can change while the underlying build remains the same.

When returning later, repeat the identification. A cached favourite or search result may open a different edition after a catalogue update. Never carry an unfinished Free Games, Hold or Risk Game worksheet into another version.

For support, state which edition is involved in the first sentence. Include round ID, time zone, currency and redacted screenshots. “The football game” is too ambiguous when three products share a theme.

This procedure also improves comparison: the reader can choose between simple low-volatility line play and the more state-heavy 2026 build without pretending that either guarantees better outcomes.

Keep marketing dates out of the identification logic. The year in a title distinguishes a product, but it does not prove that the build is newly released, currently promoted or available in a particular country. Only dated catalogue and operator evidence can establish those claims.

How to verify the version you can actually open

A provider page proves that a title exists and describes the supplier's intended rules. It does not prove that a casino accepts players in New Zealand, that the title is enabled for a particular account, or that the highest published RTP is the version in the lobby. Treat availability, operator eligibility and product configuration as three separate checks.

Start with identity, then configuration

Open the game only through the authenticated casino lobby. The information or help panel should identify Endorphina, the exact title and the active mathematical return. Compare the reel or grid layout, paylines or cluster rules, named features and symbol behaviour with the official product material. Similar artwork or a matching title is not enough when the help file is missing or inconsistent.

When the supplier publishes several RTP values, report all of them as configurations. Do not assume the highest option is deployed. RTP is a theoretical long-run measure across a very large number of rounds; it is not a refund rate for one player and cannot predict the next result. Volatility is different: it describes how unevenly results are distributed on the provider's scale.

Read stake controls as money, not interface decoration

Provider sheets often quote a reference range in euros. That range does not establish New Zealand-dollar support or the limits in a specific account. Before a paid round, identify the total amount that will leave the balance. If the interface separates denomination, coins and lines, verify the combined total. If Extra Bet is active, calculate its full cost before pressing spin.

Feature-buy prices are multiples of the current bet, not promised returns. A 100x purchase at a $1 stake costs $100; at a $2 stake it costs $200. Availability can vary by market and some mathematical configurations may not support the control. If the live help does not explain the price, delivered feature and active RTP, leave the option unused.

Keep simulation figures in their proper scope

A game sheet may publish a maximum result observed in a large simulation. That is not automatically the contractual maximum payout and never describes a likely session. Preserve the provider's wording, sample size and configuration. Check the live rules for a binding cap and the operator terms for any separate payout limit. Do not turn an extreme result into a promotional headline.

Audit a disputed round

If an animation freezes or a connection drops, do not repeat the wager immediately. Reopen the game through the authenticated lobby and inspect round history. Record the time, total stake, balance movement and round identifier. The result can be settled by the gaming system even when the device never displays the final animation. Send evidence through verified operator support; never disclose a password, recovery phrase or one-time code.

Read the paytable as a calculation document

The paytable should explain what creates a win, which symbols substitute, where special symbols can land and how multiple awards combine. For line games, confirm direction and active paylines. For cluster games, confirm adjacency, minimum group size and the order of collection. For respins, identify what remains locked, what resets the counter and what ends the feature. A graphic effect can illustrate those rules but cannot replace them.

Separate addition from multiplication. Several prize values may be added before a multiplier applies, while reel-specific multipliers can sometimes multiply together only when each reel participates in the same win. Reconstruct one low-stake result from game history. If the arithmetic cannot be matched to the help file, stop and ask the operator rather than guessing.

Do not confuse hit frequency with a profitable round

Provider sheets can publish hit frequency or category probabilities. A hit simply means a round returned a qualifying amount; it can be smaller than the stake. “Big”, “Mega” or “Epic” thresholds are provider reporting categories, not promises. They are useful for comparing mathematical versions only when definitions and samples are the same.

Random outcomes do not become due after a long gap. A feature that appeared repeatedly in a demo or marketing clip has no obligation to repeat in a funded session. Previous rounds do not create a debt from the next random result.

Confirm market and device behaviour independently

A title can exist in the supplier catalogue while an operator disables it for a territory, currency, device or bonus. Language localisation is not evidence of legal availability. Confirm the operator's identity, accepted countries and current lobby separately from the provider review.

On mobile, verify that balance, total bet, feature state and help remain visible without overlap. On desktop, check that browser zoom does not hide a purchase control or change the apparent denomination. Mathematical configuration should not change merely because the screen changes; if the help shows another RTP, treat it as a different deployment and record it.

Keep a compact evidence record

For any fact used in a review, save the title, provider, official URL, document date when available, access date and exact territorial scope. For a live session, add the operator domain, Game ID, RTP, currency and a non-sensitive screenshot of the help panel. This makes later corrections possible when a supplier updates a sheet or an operator changes configuration.

Missing information should remain missing. Do not estimate an RTP from results, convert a euro reference range into an operator's NZD limit, or treat another casino's configuration as evidence. A transparent “not confirmed” is more useful than a precise-looking number without the correct source.

Use limits that survive the feature design

Collection meters, expanding grids, sticky symbols and near misses can make a session feel unfinished. Unless the rules explicitly preserve progress, the visible state has no value after the round or feature ends. Set a money limit and time limit before launch, count feature buys immediately, and stop at the limit even when a meter appears close to an upgrade.

No random game is an income plan. Do not borrow, use essential funds or raise the stake to recover a loss. If play stops feeling recreational, use timeout, deposit-limit or self-exclusion tools and consult the site's responsible gambling guide.

Primary source and correction path

This guide separates documented product information from market availability. Check the official source and the game help inside the exact version offered before making a decision.
