Cupid by Endorphina: Free Games and Better Half bonus guide
Cupid combines a line-based slot with two different feature triggers: heart Scatters award Free Games, while paired heart halves drive the Better Half bonus. This guide keeps those paths separate.
Supplier sources below. Operator eligibility needs a separate check.

Cupid uses five reels, three rows and 20 paylines. Endorphina publishes 96.01% RTP, high volatility and a €0.20–€150 supplier stake reference. The official page also identifies Wild, Scatter, Risk Game and Bonus Pop features. Those details describe the studio profile reviewed on 8 October 2026, not guaranteed settings at every operator.
The name “heart” is used for more than one job. A luxurious heart is the Scatter, Cupid is the Wild, and separate left and right heart halves belong to the Better Half bonus. Keeping these symbols distinct is the first step towards reading a result correctly.

Before using these figures, open the deployed help and match the title, version, paytable, RTP and feature names. If the live build differs, save that evidence. Do not convert the euro limits into New Zealand dollars or imply that listing on a supplier site confirms access from New Zealand.
Ordinary line wins and Cupid Wild
Regular combinations follow enabled paylines across adjacent reels. Endorphina says only the highest win on a line is paid. The Cupid symbol substitutes for ordinary symbols but not for Scatter. When one or more Wilds appear in a winning combination, the provider states that the win is doubled.
That wording should be applied to the qualifying line, not automatically to every award in the round. If several lines are highlighted, identify which contain a substituting Cupid. Compare their displayed line values with the settled total and keep the Scatter award separate.
The official symbol summary lists five roses at 38× base bet. That is a paytable example rather than a claim about total-stake return. The loaded help must define “base bet”. A cautious test uses the smallest comfortable stake, one uncomplicated line and no optional Risk action.
Scatter path: 20 Free Games
Three or more Scatter hearts trigger 20 Free Games according to Endorphina’s description. The Scatter counts at any position, so it should not be traced along a payline. The provider’s symbol section also gives five Scatters a 500× base-bet award.
When Free Games begin, capture the trigger screen, number awarded and any displayed stake lock. Keep a running counter of played and remaining rounds. If the game shows retriggers or modified rules, use the active help for that build rather than assuming behaviour that is not stated on the public summary.
A Scatter payment and a feature trigger can appear in the same event. Avoid adding the 500× example unless five Scatters actually landed and the result panel confirms it. The history screen should show the complete credited amount.
Better Half bonus path
The Better Half feature uses dedicated bonus symbols rather than the main heart Scatter. Endorphina says three or more Bonus symbols trigger the mode, which contains 20 rounds. When matching left and right halves meet, the heart’s displayed value is multiplied by total bet. The published factor range runs from 1× to 500×.
For each round, record the two halves, whether they formed a pair, the displayed factor and the awarded amount. Do not treat the maximum possible factor as a typical result or promised win. The total-bet basis should be checked directly in the help and result screen.
The public page also lists Bonus Pop, but warns that availability can depend on casino and jurisdiction. Bonus Pop is not the same thing as the Better Half feature. If it appears, document its price, conditions and any separate RTP disclosure before activating it.
Risk Game, RTP and high volatility
Risk Game is an optional post-win decision. It can change the amount ultimately returned to the balance, but it does not alter whether the original line or bonus was settled correctly. Decline it while learning the two feature paths; if used later, record each decision separately.
The 96.01% RTP is theoretical over a very large number of rounds. It cannot predict a romance symbol, bonus entry or short session. High volatility is a supplier classification indicating that outcomes may be uneven; it is not a schedule. A run without a feature does not show that the game is malfunctioning.
Use a fixed entertainment budget and time limit. Stop when either is reached. Never increase stake to recover losses or to “complete” a heart sequence; each paid round is a new debit and the visual theme does not create progress between independent outcomes unless the rules explicitly show a persistent state.
Mobile reading and evidence quality
On a small display, confirm that the Scatter heart, bonus halves and Cupid Wild remain visually distinguishable. Open the symbol help rather than relying on colour alone. The total stake, balance, Free Games counter and result value should remain visible after orientation changes.
Animations can place paired halves together before the numerical award appears. Wait for the settled state and capture history. A complete record contains round ID, timestamp, stake, currency, symbols, feature counter, award and balances before and after.
If a demo is available on Endorphina’s official page, use it to locate help and practise reading the features. Demo access does not establish that a New Zealand account can use the game for real money. Operator availability, currency and controls require a separate, authenticated check.
Common interpretation errors
Do not confuse the Scatter heart with a Better Half symbol, double an entire bonus because a Wild appeared, or quote the 500× Better Half ceiling as a maximum game win. Do not assume Bonus Pop is present simply because the provider lists it. Finally, do not translate the euro reference range into NZD without the account interface.
A useful ledger has separate columns for ordinary line wins, Wild involvement, Scatter count, Free Games state, bonus-half match and optional Risk. That structure shows which rule produced each part of the final credit.
Final assessment
A two-ledger method for Cupid
Cupid becomes much easier to check when the Free Games and Better Half bonus are recorded in separate ledgers. The Free Games sheet needs columns for trigger-round ID, Scatter count, starting counter, Wild positions, doubled lines, rounds played and final feature credit. The Better Half sheet needs the bonus trigger, left-half value, right-half value, successful matches, applied factor and award for each of its 20 rounds.
This separation matters because both modes use heart imagery but calculate results differently. Scatter hearts count anywhere and start Free Games. Better Half symbols create their own matching task. A Cupid Wild can double an ordinary qualifying line, but that does not automatically double a heart-half value. If the interface combines totals at the end, retain the intermediate screens so the two sources can still be reconciled.
For a practical test, first open the symbol page and name each heart aloud from its label rather than appearance: Scatter, left bonus half, right bonus half or Cupid Wild. On a small display, take a screenshot of the legend before entering a feature. This eliminates most confusion caused by similar colours or animation effects.
When a support query is necessary, include the precise stage. “The bonus paid incorrectly” is ambiguous; “Better Half round 12 displayed a 20× matched heart against a stated total bet of X” gives support a reproducible issue. Redact personal details but retain the game version and transaction reference.
How to interpret the 500× figures
Two different 500× references appear in the official material: five Scatters are shown with a 500× base-bet award, while the Better Half description gives a factor range reaching 500×. They are not interchangeable. One belongs to a specific Scatter count; the other is a possible value inside the dedicated bonus calculation.
Neither should be advertised as a routine outcome. Verify whether the displayed multiplier uses base bet or total bet and quote the unit exactly. If the loaded paytable uses different wording, document that version rather than combining the two source definitions into a larger claim.
One final control is the balance timeline. Note the debit before the triggering spin, the credit attached to the Scatter event and the separately reported Better Half total. When those entries are grouped by the operator, retain the shared transaction identifier. It gives support a single reference while the editorial ledger still explains which heart mechanic produced each component.
Cupid is best understood as three parallel systems: 20-line base-game settlement with a doubling Wild, Scatter-triggered Free Games, and a 20-round matching-heart bonus. The official page supports the grid, line count, published RTP, volatility, euro range and named feature rules.
The live help must still confirm the deployed version, active RTP, total-bet definition and optional controls. Good evidence comes from the settled result and history, not from a promotional animation or an assumed New Zealand listing.

How to verify the version you can actually open
A provider page proves that a title exists and describes the supplier's intended rules. It does not prove that a casino accepts players in New Zealand, that the title is enabled for a particular account, or that the highest published RTP is the version in the lobby. Treat availability, operator eligibility and product configuration as three separate checks.
Start with identity, then configuration
Open the game only through the authenticated casino lobby. The information or help panel should identify Endorphina, the exact title and the active mathematical return. Compare the reel or grid layout, paylines or cluster rules, named features and symbol behaviour with the official product material. Similar artwork or a matching title is not enough when the help file is missing or inconsistent.
When the supplier publishes several RTP values, report all of them as configurations. Do not assume the highest option is deployed. RTP is a theoretical long-run measure across a very large number of rounds; it is not a refund rate for one player and cannot predict the next result. Volatility is different: it describes how unevenly results are distributed on the provider's scale.
Read stake controls as money, not interface decoration
Provider sheets often quote a reference range in euros. That range does not establish New Zealand-dollar support or the limits in a specific account. Before a paid round, identify the total amount that will leave the balance. If the interface separates denomination, coins and lines, verify the combined total. If Extra Bet is active, calculate its full cost before pressing spin.
Feature-buy prices are multiples of the current bet, not promised returns. A 100x purchase at a $1 stake costs $100; at a $2 stake it costs $200. Availability can vary by market and some mathematical configurations may not support the control. If the live help does not explain the price, delivered feature and active RTP, leave the option unused.
Keep simulation figures in their proper scope
A game sheet may publish a maximum result observed in a large simulation. That is not automatically the contractual maximum payout and never describes a likely session. Preserve the provider's wording, sample size and configuration. Check the live rules for a binding cap and the operator terms for any separate payout limit. Do not turn an extreme result into a promotional headline.
Audit a disputed round
If an animation freezes or a connection drops, do not repeat the wager immediately. Reopen the game through the authenticated lobby and inspect round history. Record the time, total stake, balance movement and round identifier. The result can be settled by the gaming system even when the device never displays the final animation. Send evidence through verified operator support; never disclose a password, recovery phrase or one-time code.
Read the paytable as a calculation document
The paytable should explain what creates a win, which symbols substitute, where special symbols can land and how multiple awards combine. For line games, confirm direction and active paylines. For cluster games, confirm adjacency, minimum group size and the order of collection. For respins, identify what remains locked, what resets the counter and what ends the feature. A graphic effect can illustrate those rules but cannot replace them.
Separate addition from multiplication. Several prize values may be added before a multiplier applies, while reel-specific multipliers can sometimes multiply together only when each reel participates in the same win. Reconstruct one low-stake result from game history. If the arithmetic cannot be matched to the help file, stop and ask the operator rather than guessing.
Do not confuse hit frequency with a profitable round
Provider sheets can publish hit frequency or category probabilities. A hit simply means a round returned a qualifying amount; it can be smaller than the stake. “Big”, “Mega” or “Epic” thresholds are provider reporting categories, not promises. They are useful for comparing mathematical versions only when definitions and samples are the same.
Random outcomes do not become due after a long gap. A feature that appeared repeatedly in a demo or marketing clip has no obligation to repeat in a funded session. Previous rounds do not create a debt from the next random result.
Confirm market and device behaviour independently
A title can exist in the supplier catalogue while an operator disables it for a territory, currency, device or bonus. Language localisation is not evidence of legal availability. Confirm the operator's identity, accepted countries and current lobby separately from the provider review.
On mobile, verify that balance, total bet, feature state and help remain visible without overlap. On desktop, check that browser zoom does not hide a purchase control or change the apparent denomination. Mathematical configuration should not change merely because the screen changes; if the help shows another RTP, treat it as a different deployment and record it.
Keep a compact evidence record
For any fact used in a review, save the title, provider, official URL, document date when available, access date and exact territorial scope. For a live session, add the operator domain, Game ID, RTP, currency and a non-sensitive screenshot of the help panel. This makes later corrections possible when a supplier updates a sheet or an operator changes configuration.
Missing information should remain missing. Do not estimate an RTP from results, convert a euro reference range into an operator's NZD limit, or treat another casino's configuration as evidence. A transparent “not confirmed” is more useful than a precise-looking number without the correct source.
Use limits that survive the feature design
Collection meters, expanding grids, sticky symbols and near misses can make a session feel unfinished. Unless the rules explicitly preserve progress, the visible state has no value after the round or feature ends. Set a money limit and time limit before launch, count feature buys immediately, and stop at the limit even when a meter appears close to an upgrade.
No random game is an income plan. Do not borrow, use essential funds or raise the stake to recover a loss. If play stops feeling recreational, use timeout, deposit-limit or self-exclusion tools and consult the site's responsible gambling guide.
Primary source and correction path
This guide separates documented product information from market availability. Check the official source and the game help inside the exact version offered before making a decision.
