Around the World by Endorphina: Compass and variable multiplier guide
Around the World evaluates lines from more than one direction and reserves its Compass for reel three. This guide maps the nine-line base, doubled Sphinx Wild wins and variable Free Games.
Supplier sources below. Operator eligibility needs a separate check.

Around the World uses five reels, three rows and nine paylines. Endorphina publishes 96.03% RTP, high volatility and a €0.09–€72 supplier stake reference. Three Adventuress Scatters trigger at least fifteen Free Games with a variable multiplier between ×2 and ×5.
The provider also describes line combinations that can start from the left, right or middle part of the reels. That unusual direction rule makes the live line map essential. Provider facts do not prove New Zealand operator access or NZD limits.
Published specification
| Field | Provider value |
|---|---|
| Grid | 5×3 |
| Paylines | 9 |
| RTP | 96.03% |
| Volatility | High |
| Bet reference | €0.09–€72 |

The five-Scatter award is 500× base bet. The Great Wall is the top published ordinary example at 83× for five. Read “base bet” in the loaded help before converting either figure into currency.
Nine lines with multiple starting directions
The official description says matching symbols must occupy enabled lines and adjacent reels, beginning from the leftmost reel, rightmost reel or middle section. This differs from the usual left-to-right-only model.
Save the full numbered line overlay and any direction arrows or explanatory examples. For each win, record its start point, adjacent path and symbol count. Do not reverse every failed line automatically; only the current help can show which paths qualify from each direction.
When several valid routes cross, the result panel should identify the paid combinations. Keep one ledger row per highlighted path and compare the sum with history.
Sphinx Wild and doubled wins
The Sphinx substitutes for regular symbols except the Adventuress Scatter and special Compass. One or more Sphinx Wilds appearing in a winning combination double that win.
The wording connects ×2 to a winning combination containing at least one Sphinx, not to the complete spin. Record the affected line and its displayed factor. If two Sphinxes appear on one line, do not assume ×4; the official summary says one or more Wilds double the win.
A Sphinx cannot replace the reel-three Compass. It also cannot create a Scatter trigger. These exclusions keep line substitution separate from feature-state symbols.
Scatter trigger and variable Free Games
Three or more Adventuress Scatters trigger variable Free Games. The public page says fifteen or more spins and multipliers from ×2 to ×5. Capture the trigger grid, Scatter count, initial counter and starting factor.
Because the exact relationship among Scatter count, Compass and spin quantity is not fully detailed in the public summary, do not invent a tier table. Use current help and the feature screen for the actual build.
Five Scatters pay 500× base bet. Establish whether that payment is included in the feature summary before adding it to the final history amount.
Compass on reel three
The special Compass appears only on reel three and is excluded from Sphinx substitution. Record every Compass landing, the feature counter before and after, and any multiplier change shown.
Do not infer that a compass always adds spins or always raises the factor. The official public page identifies it as special but does not publish every transition in the visible summary. The live rules and result panel are the correct evidence.
When auditing, use neutral language: “Compass appeared and the display changed from ×2 to ×3” is stronger than claiming a universal rule from one event.
Feature ledger
Use columns for free-spin number, Compass position, Sphinx positions, winning direction, line number, multiplier before, multiplier after, added spins and credit. This separates Wild doubling from the feature-wide variable factor.
If a line contains Sphinx while a feature multiplier is active, record the order and final factor as shown. Do not multiply ×2 and ×5 manually unless help confirms that composition and the settlement display matches it.
At completion, compare the ledger with the feature summary and parent round. Preserve counter changes and server history rather than judging duration by animation.
Optional features
Bonus Pop is listed but may depend on casino and jurisdiction. If present, capture price, entry route and RTP disclosure. Paid entry does not establish natural Scatter frequency.
Unlike many Endorphina titles, the current public feature list does not foreground Classic Risk for this game. Do not add Risk rules from another slot unless the loaded build explicitly shows the control.
For a clean first review, use natural play or a permitted demo and avoid optional purchases.
RTP, volatility and stakes
The 96.03% RTP is theoretical and long-run. It does not predict Compass arrivals, feature length or the next multiplier. Verify the active value in current help.
High volatility is a supplier category, not a promise of travel-themed awards. Set limits before play and never increase stake because a landmark or Compass seems overdue.
The €0.09–€72 range is denominated in euros. It must not be represented as NZD or as an operator limit. Save the actual currency and debit shown by the account.
Mobile, demo and access
Endorphina describes mobile support and offers an official demo route. Demo mode can expose directional lines and feature labels but does not prove real-money access or configuration parity.
On mobile, verify that outer reels, reel three, line overlay, counter, multiplier and stake are all visible. Directional wins are especially easy to misread on a cropped screen.
Save exact title, version, RTP, currency, limits, domain, date and optional-control status. For disputes, add the round ID, trigger and every Compass or multiplier transition.
Common errors
- Evaluating all lines only from the left.
- Letting Sphinx substitute for Scatter or Compass.
- Turning two Sphinxes into an unsupported ×4.
- Assuming a fixed fifteen-spin feature.
- Inventing Compass transitions absent from help.
- Adding a five-Scatter award twice.
- Converting euro limits into NZD.
Building the directional line map
Create a five-column grid and transcribe each numbered payline from the loaded help. Beside every line, note whether the rules permit evaluation from left, right, middle or more than one starting point. Keep this mapping attached to the exact game version; it should not be copied into another title with nine lines.
For a settled win, trace consecutive coordinates in the direction used by the game. “Starting from the middle” still requires an official path and adjacent reel positions under the provider description. A cluster touching the centre reel is not automatically a valid middle-start win.
Separating two multiplier sources
Around the World can show a variable feature multiplier and a Sphinx-based double. These are conceptually different. The feature display supplies a general state between ×2 and ×5; Sphinx doubles a winning combination in which it participates.
When both appear, save the line breakdown and factor display. If the result panel shows one combined value, document the final settlement without guessing multiplication order. If help explicitly states composition, calculate one example using the displayed base line amount and confirm it against history.
Five-Scatter audit
A five-Scatter screen has a published award of 500× base bet and also starts the Free Games feature. Capture the trigger before any travel animation, then the initial counter and multiplier. Check whether the 500× amount is credited immediately, displayed in the feature summary or settled in the parent round.
Never add 500× merely because the feature contains five thematic landmarks. Only five Adventuress Scatter symbols meet this public paytable example. The Compass and Sphinx have separate roles.
Comparing mobile and desktop results
The same round should settle identically across devices even if animations differ. If the account permits history access on both, compare round ID, total debit and credit rather than layout. A narrow mobile screen may abbreviate the line explanation or hide part of the map behind a panel.
For an editorial screenshot, use the view that clearly shows all five reels and the multiplier. Do not crop away reel three, because Compass evidence depends on that exact location. Include a second close-up only when it clarifies a specific line.
Responsible interpretation
Landmark progression and compass imagery are narrative, not evidence that a route is “close” to completion. The public rules do not describe a persistent journey across paid spins. Do not continue because a destination has not appeared recently.
Set money and time limits in advance. Use demo mode for interface mapping where permitted, and never stake more merely to obtain a rare five-Scatter screenshot or the maximum feature multiplier.
Final assessment
Around the World requires a line-direction audit before its feature can be understood. The Sphinx doubles qualifying combinations, while the reel-three Compass and variable feature factor need chronological evidence.
The provider page supports the 5×3, nine-line profile, 96.03% RTP, high volatility, Scatter trigger and ×2–×5 feature range. Current help remains decisive for the detailed Compass sequence.

How to verify the version you can actually open
A provider page proves that a title exists and describes the supplier's intended rules. It does not prove that a casino accepts players in New Zealand, that the title is enabled for a particular account, or that the highest published RTP is the version in the lobby. Treat availability, operator eligibility and product configuration as three separate checks.
Start with identity, then configuration
Open the game only through the authenticated casino lobby. The information or help panel should identify Endorphina, the exact title and the active mathematical return. Compare the reel or grid layout, paylines or cluster rules, named features and symbol behaviour with the official product material. Similar artwork or a matching title is not enough when the help file is missing or inconsistent.
When the supplier publishes several RTP values, report all of them as configurations. Do not assume the highest option is deployed. RTP is a theoretical long-run measure across a very large number of rounds; it is not a refund rate for one player and cannot predict the next result. Volatility is different: it describes how unevenly results are distributed on the provider's scale.
Read stake controls as money, not interface decoration
Provider sheets often quote a reference range in euros. That range does not establish New Zealand-dollar support or the limits in a specific account. Before a paid round, identify the total amount that will leave the balance. If the interface separates denomination, coins and lines, verify the combined total. If Extra Bet is active, calculate its full cost before pressing spin.
Feature-buy prices are multiples of the current bet, not promised returns. A 100x purchase at a $1 stake costs $100; at a $2 stake it costs $200. Availability can vary by market and some mathematical configurations may not support the control. If the live help does not explain the price, delivered feature and active RTP, leave the option unused.
Keep simulation figures in their proper scope
A game sheet may publish a maximum result observed in a large simulation. That is not automatically the contractual maximum payout and never describes a likely session. Preserve the provider's wording, sample size and configuration. Check the live rules for a binding cap and the operator terms for any separate payout limit. Do not turn an extreme result into a promotional headline.
Audit a disputed round
If an animation freezes or a connection drops, do not repeat the wager immediately. Reopen the game through the authenticated lobby and inspect round history. Record the time, total stake, balance movement and round identifier. The result can be settled by the gaming system even when the device never displays the final animation. Send evidence through verified operator support; never disclose a password, recovery phrase or one-time code.
Read the paytable as a calculation document
The paytable should explain what creates a win, which symbols substitute, where special symbols can land and how multiple awards combine. For line games, confirm direction and active paylines. For cluster games, confirm adjacency, minimum group size and the order of collection. For respins, identify what remains locked, what resets the counter and what ends the feature. A graphic effect can illustrate those rules but cannot replace them.
Separate addition from multiplication. Several prize values may be added before a multiplier applies, while reel-specific multipliers can sometimes multiply together only when each reel participates in the same win. Reconstruct one low-stake result from game history. If the arithmetic cannot be matched to the help file, stop and ask the operator rather than guessing.
Do not confuse hit frequency with a profitable round
Provider sheets can publish hit frequency or category probabilities. A hit simply means a round returned a qualifying amount; it can be smaller than the stake. “Big”, “Mega” or “Epic” thresholds are provider reporting categories, not promises. They are useful for comparing mathematical versions only when definitions and samples are the same.
Random outcomes do not become due after a long gap. A feature that appeared repeatedly in a demo or marketing clip has no obligation to repeat in a funded session. Previous rounds do not create a debt from the next random result.
Confirm market and device behaviour independently
A title can exist in the supplier catalogue while an operator disables it for a territory, currency, device or bonus. Language localisation is not evidence of legal availability. Confirm the operator's identity, accepted countries and current lobby separately from the provider review.
On mobile, verify that balance, total bet, feature state and help remain visible without overlap. On desktop, check that browser zoom does not hide a purchase control or change the apparent denomination. Mathematical configuration should not change merely because the screen changes; if the help shows another RTP, treat it as a different deployment and record it.
Keep a compact evidence record
For any fact used in a review, save the title, provider, official URL, document date when available, access date and exact territorial scope. For a live session, add the operator domain, Game ID, RTP, currency and a non-sensitive screenshot of the help panel. This makes later corrections possible when a supplier updates a sheet or an operator changes configuration.
Missing information should remain missing. Do not estimate an RTP from results, convert a euro reference range into an operator's NZD limit, or treat another casino's configuration as evidence. A transparent “not confirmed” is more useful than a precise-looking number without the correct source.
Use limits that survive the feature design
Collection meters, expanding grids, sticky symbols and near misses can make a session feel unfinished. Unless the rules explicitly preserve progress, the visible state has no value after the round or feature ends. Set a money limit and time limit before launch, count feature buys immediately, and stop at the limit even when a meter appears close to an upgrade.
No random game is an income plan. Do not borrow, use essential funds or raise the stake to recover a loss. If play stops feeling recreational, use timeout, deposit-limit or self-exclusion tools and consult the site's responsible gambling guide.
Primary source and correction path
This guide separates documented product information from market availability. Check the official source and the game help inside the exact version offered before making a decision.
