Argonauts: Golden Fleece collector and Free Games rules

Argonauts combines a conventional 10-line slot with two distinct feature paths: Scatter-triggered Free Games and a Golden Fleece collector. This guide separates their symbols, counters and settlement rules.

Argonauts is a five-reel, three-row Endorphina slot with 10 paylines. The supplier page checked on 8 October 2026 lists 96.06% RTP, high volatility and a €0.10–€45 reference stake range. Its central complication is that shields, Golden Fleeces, meanders, Scatters and Wilds do different jobs. A correct reading starts by keeping those symbol families separate.

The provider page is evidence for the published game design, not evidence that the title is available to every New Zealand visitor. It also does not establish an NZD stake range. Availability, currency, RTP build and optional controls must be checked inside the loaded game help before a paid decision.

Grid 5×3
Paylines 10
Provider RTP 96.06%

These values describe the public supplier profile. Save the help screen, version identifier and round-history timestamp if the loaded build differs. Never combine one build’s RTP with another build’s paytable merely because the title art is identical.

Base-game line wins and stacked Wild

Line wins are evaluated on the published 10-line map. The warrior is the highest ordinary symbol and the supplier lists five matching warriors at 25× base bet. That example is useful for checking the unit shown in help, but it is not a substitute for saving the complete paytable.

The Wild may appear stacked and substitutes for ordinary paying symbols. Five Wilds are published at 30× base bet. A stacked graphic can cover several cells, yet each completed line still has to be reconciled through the actual payline path. Do not multiply the whole result merely because one artwork spans more than one row.

The Bonus, Scatter and special collector symbols have their own functions. Unless the loaded help explicitly says otherwise, a Wild should not be assumed to replace them. Capture the winning line overlay and the settled credit rather than estimating from animation alone.

Free Games are a separate route

Three or more Scatter symbols trigger eight Free Games. The supplier also states that three Scatters pay 25× base bet. Record the trigger award and the Free Games sequence separately so the same amount is not counted twice when the interface shows an inclusive total.

During Free Games, the symbol set is restricted to the top symbols, Scatter, Wild and Bonus symbols. Additional Scatters can retrigger the feature. The absence of lower symbols changes the reel presentation, but it does not make a particular premium combination due or guaranteed.

For an audit, note the starting spin count, every retrigger, the post-spin counter and the final feature total. If a reconnect occurs, compare the restored counter with transaction history before continuing. This simple ledger is more reliable than a screenshot of the final animation.

Golden Fleece Bonus trigger

Six or more Bonus symbols trigger the Golden Fleece Bonus on a 5×3 collector grid. The feature retains special symbols and continues through an attempt-based sequence described in current game help. The public page explains the endpoints but does not clearly publish every counter detail, so the loaded help should decide the exact starting-attempt value.

That distinction matters. It would be wrong to import a three-attempt rule from another collector merely because its layout looks familiar. Start the record with the six-or-more trigger count, then note each symbol that lands, whether the counter resets, and when the feature closes.

The bonus can contain ordinary Jason shields, Golden Fleeces and meander symbols. Their outcomes are not interchangeable. Use a 15-cell coordinate map so each landed object is recorded once.

Shields, Fleeces and meanders

Jason shield symbols carry prizes from 1× to 16× total bet. The Golden Fleece can conceal jackpot prizes. The product description publishes 20×, 50× and 150× total-bet values, while the symbol summary also uses MIN, MID, MAX and ULTRA labels. Because those presentations do not map cleanly in the public copy, preserve the exact label and value shown in the current help rather than inventing a correspondence.

Meanders keep the reels spinning while other landed symbols remain. Treat the meander as a state-changing symbol, not automatically as another cash prize. In the ledger, mark its coordinate, the extended sequence and the symbols preserved after it lands.

If all 15 collector positions are filled with Bonus symbols, the official page states that an Extra Jackpot of 5000× total bet is awarded. Save the completed grid and history entry. Check whether the displayed running collector sum is included in or additional to that completion award before adding figures together.

A clean collector ledger

Create columns for step, attempts before, new coordinate, symbol class, printed multiplier or jackpot label, attempts after and running display. This reveals whether a meander extended the feature, whether a symbol was counted twice and whether the final meter was inclusive.

Use total bet as the reference only where the official rules use that phrase. Base-game examples on the product page can use base bet, while collector prizes use total bet. Converting both to the same cash amount without checking the game’s definitions is a common source of reconciliation errors.

If an animation briefly presents several numbers, wait until the game history posts a final amount. Presentation stages are not independent credits. Preserve both the visible summary and the transaction entry when raising a support query.

RTP, volatility and Classic Risk

The published 96.06% RTP is a long-run theoretical setting, not a forecast for a session or a promise that either feature will open. High volatility describes the shape of outcomes over a large sample; it cannot tell a player when a Golden Fleece or Scatter is due.

Endorphina also lists Classic Risk, which can offer up to 10 doubling decisions on eligible wins. It is a separate optional step and may be unavailable by operator or jurisdiction. Check whether it appears after line wins, feature wins or neither, and do not include a declined gamble as a separate result.

Set a spend and time boundary before testing. A collector with many occupied positions can create pressure to continue, but an unfinished grid has no stored cash value unless the loaded rules explicitly say that progress persists.

Mobile and version checks

On mobile, open the information panel in portrait and landscape. Confirm that the 10-line map, collector labels, attempt counter and total-bet definition remain readable without relying on hover. Test focus, mute and history controls before the first paid round.

Record title, provider, game ID, version, RTP, currency and total-bet unit. If an operator supplies a different RTP variant, report that loaded value alongside the supplier page rather than averaging the two. If the title is absent from an account, absence is the result; a provider catalogue is not proof of local delivery.

Worked evidence example

Suppose a round shows three Scatters and later opens eight Free Games. The record should contain the paid trigger round, its 25× base-bet Scatter entry, the opening feature counter and each free round. If a retrigger occurs on the fifth Free Game, write down the counter immediately before and after it. This prevents the trigger award from disappearing into the feature total or being added twice.

For a Golden Fleece sequence, begin with a blank 5×3 diagram and colour only the six or more transferred trigger cells. Add a new row whenever a Jason shield, Fleece or meander arrives. A Jason shield receives its printed total-bet multiplier; a Fleece keeps the exact label shown; a meander records the continuation effect. The final row contains the settled feature credit and transaction identifier.

If all 15 positions fill, preserve two screenshots: one before the completion message and one after the history entry posts. They establish whether the 5000× Extra Jackpot stands alone or is combined with collected prizes. Without both views, the safest published statement is the condition itself, not an assumed arithmetic formula.

Common interpretation errors

  • Treating a stacked Wild graphic as one universal multiplier.
  • Combining the Scatter award and Free Games total twice.
  • Importing an attempt count from a visually similar collector.
  • Calling a meander an automatic cash prize.
  • Mapping jackpot labels to 20×, 50× and 150× without current help.
  • Reading 5000× as the normal collector ceiling rather than the 15-symbol condition.
  • Presenting euro reference stakes as NZD account limits.
  • Claiming New Zealand availability from a supplier page alone.

Final assessment

Argonauts is best understood as two ledgers. The Free Games ledger tracks Scatters, spin counts and retriggers. The Golden Fleece ledger tracks collector coordinates, symbol classes, attempts and settlement. Keeping them separate makes the published mechanics much easier to verify.

The official page supports the grid, paylines, RTP, volatility and major feature values. Current in-game help must still settle the exact counter behaviour, jackpot-label mapping, loaded RTP, wager definitions and local availability.

How to verify the version you can actually open

A provider page proves that a title exists and describes the supplier's intended rules. It does not prove that a casino accepts players in New Zealand, that the title is enabled for a particular account, or that the highest published RTP is the version in the lobby. Treat availability, operator eligibility and product configuration as three separate checks.

Start with identity, then configuration

Open the game only through the authenticated casino lobby. The information or help panel should identify Endorphina, the exact title and the active mathematical return. Compare the reel or grid layout, paylines or cluster rules, named features and symbol behaviour with the official product material. Similar artwork or a matching title is not enough when the help file is missing or inconsistent.

When the supplier publishes several RTP values, report all of them as configurations. Do not assume the highest option is deployed. RTP is a theoretical long-run measure across a very large number of rounds; it is not a refund rate for one player and cannot predict the next result. Volatility is different: it describes how unevenly results are distributed on the provider's scale.

Read stake controls as money, not interface decoration

Provider sheets often quote a reference range in euros. That range does not establish New Zealand-dollar support or the limits in a specific account. Before a paid round, identify the total amount that will leave the balance. If the interface separates denomination, coins and lines, verify the combined total. If Extra Bet is active, calculate its full cost before pressing spin.

Feature-buy prices are multiples of the current bet, not promised returns. A 100x purchase at a $1 stake costs $100; at a $2 stake it costs $200. Availability can vary by market and some mathematical configurations may not support the control. If the live help does not explain the price, delivered feature and active RTP, leave the option unused.

Keep simulation figures in their proper scope

A game sheet may publish a maximum result observed in a large simulation. That is not automatically the contractual maximum payout and never describes a likely session. Preserve the provider's wording, sample size and configuration. Check the live rules for a binding cap and the operator terms for any separate payout limit. Do not turn an extreme result into a promotional headline.

Audit a disputed round

If an animation freezes or a connection drops, do not repeat the wager immediately. Reopen the game through the authenticated lobby and inspect round history. Record the time, total stake, balance movement and round identifier. The result can be settled by the gaming system even when the device never displays the final animation. Send evidence through verified operator support; never disclose a password, recovery phrase or one-time code.

Read the paytable as a calculation document

The paytable should explain what creates a win, which symbols substitute, where special symbols can land and how multiple awards combine. For line games, confirm direction and active paylines. For cluster games, confirm adjacency, minimum group size and the order of collection. For respins, identify what remains locked, what resets the counter and what ends the feature. A graphic effect can illustrate those rules but cannot replace them.

Separate addition from multiplication. Several prize values may be added before a multiplier applies, while reel-specific multipliers can sometimes multiply together only when each reel participates in the same win. Reconstruct one low-stake result from game history. If the arithmetic cannot be matched to the help file, stop and ask the operator rather than guessing.

Do not confuse hit frequency with a profitable round

Provider sheets can publish hit frequency or category probabilities. A hit simply means a round returned a qualifying amount; it can be smaller than the stake. “Big”, “Mega” or “Epic” thresholds are provider reporting categories, not promises. They are useful for comparing mathematical versions only when definitions and samples are the same.

Random outcomes do not become due after a long gap. A feature that appeared repeatedly in a demo or marketing clip has no obligation to repeat in a funded session. Previous rounds do not create a debt from the next random result.

Confirm market and device behaviour independently

A title can exist in the supplier catalogue while an operator disables it for a territory, currency, device or bonus. Language localisation is not evidence of legal availability. Confirm the operator's identity, accepted countries and current lobby separately from the provider review.

On mobile, verify that balance, total bet, feature state and help remain visible without overlap. On desktop, check that browser zoom does not hide a purchase control or change the apparent denomination. Mathematical configuration should not change merely because the screen changes; if the help shows another RTP, treat it as a different deployment and record it.

Keep a compact evidence record

For any fact used in a review, save the title, provider, official URL, document date when available, access date and exact territorial scope. For a live session, add the operator domain, Game ID, RTP, currency and a non-sensitive screenshot of the help panel. This makes later corrections possible when a supplier updates a sheet or an operator changes configuration.

Missing information should remain missing. Do not estimate an RTP from results, convert a euro reference range into an operator's NZD limit, or treat another casino's configuration as evidence. A transparent “not confirmed” is more useful than a precise-looking number without the correct source.

Use limits that survive the feature design

Collection meters, expanding grids, sticky symbols and near misses can make a session feel unfinished. Unless the rules explicitly preserve progress, the visible state has no value after the round or feature ends. Set a money limit and time limit before launch, count feature buys immediately, and stop at the limit even when a meter appears close to an upgrade.

No random game is an income plan. Do not borrow, use essential funds or raise the stake to recover a loss. If play stops feeling recreational, use timeout, deposit-limit or self-exclusion tools and consult the site's responsible gambling guide.

Primary source and correction path

This guide separates documented product information from market availability. Check the official source and the game help inside the exact version offered before making a decision.
