Tycoons rules and version-verification guide

A careful comparison of Betsoft's current catalogue record and a separately labelled Tycoons Plus NJP ToGo ruleset, without merging two RTP values into one imaginary build.

Supplier sources below. Operator eligibility needs a separate check.

Tycoons has a simple current catalogue record and a more detailed, differently labelled rules document. Betsoft’s product page lists the game as live from 20 July 2015 with 95.34% RTP, medium volatility, 4.73% hit rate, five reels and 30 paylines. Its accessible feature captions are blank.

A Betsoft-hosted PDF titled Tycoons Plus NJP ToGo, version 1.0, instead states 95.16% RTP and documents free spins, Click Me and a poker-style bonus. These sources should not be blended. The PDF is useful evidence for that named variant, not automatic proof of the rules or return loaded under plain “Tycoons”.

The correct live value is the one attached to the exact deployed game ID and Help document. If an operator launches “Tycoons Plus NJP ToGo”, the 95.16% file may match. If it launches plain “Tycoons”, do not assume the suffix is cosmetic.

Why the RTP difference matters

A 0.18 percentage-point difference can reflect a jackpot contribution, a market build or another mathematical configuration. It is not evidence that one source is false. Save the Help title, RTP, version, operator, territory and date in one capture.

Never average 95.34% and 95.16%. Never publish the larger value as active merely because it is more attractive. If the client does not disclose enough identity information, mark deployment RTP uncertain while retaining both primary-source records.

The 4.73% catalogue hit rate is also unusually specific. It does not mean a paying event must occur once every fixed number of spins, and it should not be attached to the PDF variant unless Betsoft connects the metrics.

What the variant PDF documents

The version 1.0 PDF describes standard spinning reels, 30 lines and awards evaluated from the leftmost reel. Line pays are multiplied by the line bet. It lists one to five bet levels and a UK-pound default schedule, but those amounts belong to that document and should not be converted into NZ account limits.

It also confirms history controls and HTML5 support for desktop and mobile. These details help identify a matching build. They do not establish that the game is currently offered by a New Zealand-facing operator.

Character free spins in Tycoons Plus

According to the variant rules, winning combinations of three or more matching character symbols carrying the small “fs” marker trigger free spins. Three icons award three spins, four award six, and five award twelve; when multiple lines trigger, the highest icon count defines the award.

Reel two, three or four becomes a Wild reel during the feature, and character-symbol wins are doubled. Free spins use the triggering bet settings. These are precise rules, but they remain scoped to Tycoons Plus NJP ToGo until the loaded plain-title client proves a match.

For an audit, capture the marked character combination, the selected Wild reel, starting counter, doubled character settlement and final total. Do not double non-character awards unless Help says so.

Click Me sequence

The PDF says GOLD, CASH and CHECKBOOK symbols appearing consecutively in any order on payline one, two or three activate Click Me. The player selects one of three symbols for an instant award. The document states a maximum of 1,500 coins for this feature.

Coins are not necessarily the same as total stake. Record coin value, line bet, active lines and resulting currency credit before expressing the cap as a multiplier. A selection screen should be called a reveal unless the rules demonstrate that choice changes the underlying probability.

Second-screen card-dealer bonus

Three or more Card Dealer symbols anywhere trigger a second-screen poker presentation in the variant PDF. The player predicts which of four tycoons wins and receives an instant award. The document lists a 37,500-coin maximum for the bonus round.

Do not call it poker strategy. The extracted rules do not provide card probabilities, decision trees or proof that the prediction alters expected value. Record the dealt state, selection, result and credit as one bonus event linked to the initiating round.

Base-line reconstruction

The PDF states that wins begin on the leftmost reel and that the game has 30 lines. A valid check needs the exact line diagram, consecutive symbol count, line bet and paytable value. Similar-looking diagonals are not evidence of an active line.

If the live client permits a changing number of active lines, record it before every test round. The current public product page only states 30 paylines; it does not say whether all are always active.

Paytable fields still missing for plain Tycoons

The current page does not expose symbol payouts, Wild substitutions, trigger text, maximum win or stake limits in accessible copy. Feature images titled Main Game, Wild and Free Spins establish that those concepts exist visually, but not their complete rules.

This distinction is important for search readers: a detailed third-party description may be correct for one integration while still failing to identify the active build. Exact Help outranks a remembered review.

Mobile and interruption checks

On a phone, confirm that 30-line controls, bet unit, active lines and history remain readable without horizontal scrolling. In free spins, the chosen Wild reel and doubled character win should have stable indicators beyond sound or rapid animation.

If the second screen is interrupted, reopen history instead of repeating the choice. A restored animation may present the outcome again even though the server has already settled it. Save round ID and wallet movement but remove personal data.

Demo and territorial boundary

The Betsoft product page links a studio preview. The sponsored links in this guide are separate commercial routes and are not the official Tycoons demo. Neither source confirms that Tycoons is offered in New Zealand or in a particular 22Bet account.

Availability requires authenticated operator evidence, compatible territory and current terms. A launch failure can reflect geolocation, account state, retirement or technical maintenance; it should not be converted into a permanent global claim.

A practical version decision

First read the Help title. If it includes “Plus NJP ToGo”, compare its RTP and version with the PDF. If it says only “Tycoons”, use the current catalogue as the studio baseline and treat PDF-only mechanics as unconfirmed.

Second, check whether the feature names and symbol markers match. Third, preserve a screenshot of the RTP and paytable revision. Only after all three checks should the article attach detailed feature rules to that deployment.

Building a conflict matrix

Create one row for the current catalogue page, one for the Plus NJP ToGo PDF and one for the loaded client. Use columns for exact title, RTP, game version, paytable version, feature names, wager currency and territory. This makes the conflict visible without declaring a winner too early.

Identity fields come first. If the loaded title includes the Plus and NJP suffixes and exposes version 1.0, the PDF becomes a close candidate. If the title omits them or the RTP is 95.34%, keep the variant rules outside the active column until more evidence appears.

Next compare mechanics rather than artwork. Look for the small “fs” marker on character symbols, the Wild-reel selection, GOLD/CASH/CHECKBOOK sequence and Card Dealer trigger. A reused mansion background cannot establish a mathematical match.

Finally, date every row. The 2015 catalogue record can remain historically correct while a later market build uses different return or feature funding. A version log should explain whether the update reflects new evidence, an operator configuration or a genuine rule change.

If support answers only “the game is Tycoons”, ask for the game ID and rules document shown to the account. A name confirmation does not resolve the 95.34% versus 95.16% difference. Publish the unresolved status plainly rather than assembling the most detailed-looking hybrid.

Evidence checklist

  1. Capture exact title and suffix.
  2. Record game and paytable version.
  3. Compare 95.34% with 95.16% without averaging.
  4. Confirm all 30 line diagrams.
  5. Match free-spin markers and Wild reel.
  6. Identify Click Me and dealer bonus rules.
  7. Translate coin awards only with a known denominator.
  8. Save history and final settlement.

How to verify the version you can actually open

A provider page proves that a title exists and describes the supplier's intended rules. It does not prove that a casino accepts players in New Zealand, that the title is enabled for a particular account, or that the highest published RTP is the version in the lobby. Treat availability, operator eligibility and product configuration as three separate checks.

Start with identity, then configuration

Open the game only through the authenticated casino lobby. The information or help panel should identify Betsoft, the exact title and the active mathematical return. Compare the reel or grid layout, paylines or cluster rules, named features and symbol behaviour with the official product material. Similar artwork or a matching title is not enough when the help file is missing or inconsistent.

When the supplier publishes several RTP values, report all of them as configurations. Do not assume the highest option is deployed. RTP is a theoretical long-run measure across a very large number of rounds; it is not a refund rate for one player and cannot predict the next result. Volatility is different: it describes how unevenly results are distributed on the provider's scale.

Read stake controls as money, not interface decoration

Provider sheets often quote a reference range in euros. That range does not establish New Zealand-dollar support or the limits in a specific account. Before a paid round, identify the total amount that will leave the balance. If the interface separates denomination, coins and lines, verify the combined total. If Extra Bet is active, calculate its full cost before pressing spin.

Feature-buy prices are multiples of the current bet, not promised returns. A 100x purchase at a $1 stake costs $100; at a $2 stake it costs $200. Availability can vary by market and some mathematical configurations may not support the control. If the live help does not explain the price, delivered feature and active RTP, leave the option unused.

Keep simulation figures in their proper scope

A game sheet may publish a maximum result observed in a large simulation. That is not automatically the contractual maximum payout and never describes a likely session. Preserve the provider's wording, sample size and configuration. Check the live rules for a binding cap and the operator terms for any separate payout limit. Do not turn an extreme result into a promotional headline.

Audit a disputed round

If an animation freezes or a connection drops, do not repeat the wager immediately. Reopen the game through the authenticated lobby and inspect round history. Record the time, total stake, balance movement and round identifier. The result can be settled by the gaming system even when the device never displays the final animation. Send evidence through verified operator support; never disclose a password, recovery phrase or one-time code.

Read the paytable as a calculation document

The paytable should explain what creates a win, which symbols substitute, where special symbols can land and how multiple awards combine. For line games, confirm direction and active paylines. For cluster games, confirm adjacency, minimum group size and the order of collection. For respins, identify what remains locked, what resets the counter and what ends the feature. A graphic effect can illustrate those rules but cannot replace them.

Separate addition from multiplication. Several prize values may be added before a multiplier applies, while reel-specific multipliers can sometimes multiply together only when each reel participates in the same win. Reconstruct one low-stake result from game history. If the arithmetic cannot be matched to the help file, stop and ask the operator rather than guessing.

Do not confuse hit frequency with a profitable round

Provider sheets can publish hit frequency or category probabilities. A hit simply means a round returned a qualifying amount; it can be smaller than the stake. “Big”, “Mega” or “Epic” thresholds are provider reporting categories, not promises. They are useful for comparing mathematical versions only when definitions and samples are the same.

Random outcomes do not become due after a long gap. A feature that appeared repeatedly in a demo or marketing clip has no obligation to repeat in a funded session. Previous rounds do not create a debt from the next random result.

Confirm market and device behaviour independently

A title can exist in the supplier catalogue while an operator disables it for a territory, currency, device or bonus. Language localisation is not evidence of legal availability. Confirm the operator's identity, accepted countries and current lobby separately from the provider review.

On mobile, verify that balance, total bet, feature state and help remain visible without overlap. On desktop, check that browser zoom does not hide a purchase control or change the apparent denomination. Mathematical configuration should not change merely because the screen changes; if the help shows another RTP, treat it as a different deployment and record it.

Keep a compact evidence record

For any fact used in a review, save the title, provider, official URL, document date when available, access date and exact territorial scope. For a live session, add the operator domain, Game ID, RTP, currency and a non-sensitive screenshot of the help panel. This makes later corrections possible when a supplier updates a sheet or an operator changes configuration.

Missing information should remain missing. Do not estimate an RTP from results, convert a euro reference range into an operator's NZD limit, or treat another casino's configuration as evidence. A transparent “not confirmed” is more useful than a precise-looking number without the correct source.

Use limits that survive the feature design

Collection meters, expanding grids, sticky symbols and near misses can make a session feel unfinished. Unless the rules explicitly preserve progress, the visible state has no value after the round or feature ends. Set a money limit and time limit before launch, count feature buys immediately, and stop at the limit even when a meter appears close to an upgrade.

No random game is an income plan. Do not borrow, use essential funds or raise the stake to recover a loss. If play stops feeling recreational, use timeout, deposit-limit or self-exclusion tools and consult the site's responsible gambling guide.

Primary source and correction path

This guide separates documented product information from market availability. Check the official source and the game help inside the exact version offered before making a decision.
