THE Robbery coin and expanding-reel rules
A round-by-round audit of Coin and Collect symbols, Vault activation and free spins that can expand from 243 to 3,125 ways.
Supplier sources below. Operator eligibility needs a separate check.

Betsoft lists THE Robbery as live from 16 July 2026. The official specification is five reels, three rows, 243 ways to win, 96.06% RTP, high volatility and a 25.89% hit rate. During free spins, individual reels may expand until the grid reaches five rows and 3,125 ways.
The central mechanism pairs Coin and Collect symbols. At least one of each starts a collection, while a separate five-reel Coin event, a Vault meter, free-spin modifiers, Wild and Buy Bonus create additional settlement paths.

Coin Collect Feature
At least one Coin and one Collect symbol on the reels trigger the feature. The Collect symbol fires a number of bullets represented on its face, selects random Coin symbols and assigns each selected Coin a multiplier from 2x to 10x.
Record the unmodified Coin values first. Then log the bullet count, which Coins were selected, each multiplier and the resulting subtotal. This order prevents the visual sequence from obscuring whether a Coin was ignored or multiplied.
The public page does not publish selection probabilities, multiplier weights or treatment of multiple Collect symbols. Current Help must answer those questions. Never assume every Coin is selected simply because at least one Collect landed.
Five-reel Coin event
When a winning combination contains Coin symbols on all five reels without a Collect symbol, Betsoft says every Coin value on the reels is added to the win meter alongside the ordinary ways win.
This route is mutually described by the absence of Collect, so record that absence explicitly. Separate the normal symbol award from the sum of all Coin values and compare both with final credit. A Coin on each reel does not mean every visible Coin forms the same ways combination.
The provider does not state how overlapping five-reel Coin combinations are de-duplicated. Use the deployed paytable and history rather than multiplying the visual count by guesswork.
The Vault
Every Coin or Collect symbol is added to the Vault, which has a random chance to trigger the Coin Collect Feature. The public description does not expose a numeric threshold or activation probability.
Treat the Vault as a state indicator, not stored balance. Log each contribution and any visible meter movement, then note the exact round on which activation occurs. If the interface shows no counter, do not invent one.
Test persistence only without placing an unnecessary wager: close after settlement, reopen and compare the visual state. A reset animation may differ from the server’s recorded state, so retain round IDs.
Free spins and expanding reels
Three or more Scatters trigger 6, 10 or 12 free spins. The official page does not map each Scatter count to a specific award, so confirm the relationship in Help. Two special symbols can appear: +1 Spin adds a free spin, while Expand raises the reel on which it lands and also adds one spin.
Begin with a five-by-three grid map. After every Expand symbol, record the affected reel height and recalculate the visible ways. Because reels expand independently, intermediate grids need not be rectangular. The published maximum is five rows and 3,125 ways.
Record +1 Spin and Expand additions separately. Both increase the counter, but only Expand changes geometry. At feature end, verify that all reels return to their base height before another paid round.
Wild exclusions
The Wild replaces ordinary symbols but not Scatter, Coin, Collect, +1 Spin or Expand. Those exclusions are essential when reconstructing ways.
For each Wild-assisted win, follow adjacent reels from the left according to Help. Do not use a Wild to bridge a special symbol that the provider explicitly excludes. Save the line or ways breakdown when history provides it.
The public page does not publish the full paytable or maximum win. Exact symbol awards and caps remain unavailable until current primary Help exposes them.
Buy Bonus
Betsoft describes instant access to free spins with 6, 10 or 12 spins awarded at random. The public page does not provide cost, probability split, alternative RTP or local configuration.
If present, capture the confirmation panel, price, total stake, disclosed RTP and cancellation control. The result is an in-game wager, not a promotional bonus. Do not imply that 12 spins is the usual result without probability evidence.
Provider documentation does not prove that the control or the game is available to a New Zealand account. Only an authenticated operator lobby can establish that scope.
RTP and session interpretation
The published 96.06% RTP describes long-run theoretical return. High volatility signals uneven distribution, while 25.89% hit rate counts qualifying awards that may be below stake.
Use a ledger with separate columns for stake, base ways award, Coin values, applied multipliers, Vault-triggered collection, extra spins and final credit. This makes a complex result auditable without turning a short sample into a mathematical claim.
Never infer frequency from a trailer or provider screenshot. Marketing footage demonstrates possible presentation, not probability.
Mobile and interruption checks
On mobile, verify that reel height changes remain visible and the expanded top row is not clipped. Check that Coin values, Collect bullet counts and free-spin counters remain legible in portrait orientation.
Interrupt only after settlement. On return, compare Vault state, reel expansion and remaining spins with history. If the client replays an animation, confirm the wallet was credited once.
Accessibility testing should cover contrast, text alternatives for Coin values, reduced motion and a non-colour-only indication of selected Coins. Keyboard focus must reach Help and history.

Verdict
Reconstructing one expanded feature
Use five vertical columns and give each reel five potential cells. Shade the three base cells before free spins. When an Expand symbol lands, reveal only the added cells on that reel and write the new ways count beside the grid. This prevents a common mistake: treating one expanded reel as though the whole game had already reached five rows.
Beside the grid, maintain a counter ledger. A +1 Spin changes only the remaining-spin value. An Expand changes both the counter and reel height. If both effects occur in the same settlement, record the order displayed in Help and compare it with the history entry. The final grid should be preserved before the feature collapses back to base size.
Coin records need a different table. List every Coin face value, then mark which ones the Collect bullets selected and which multiplier each received. For the five-reel no-Collect event, leave the bullet and multiplier columns blank and record the additional sum separately. That blank space is useful evidence: it shows that the alternative rule, not the standard Collect sequence, produced the credit.
When Vault activation overlaps a normal trigger, save the full round before assigning causation. The public description confirms random Vault activation but not precedence. A careful report can state what the interface showed without claiming an undocumented priority rule.
Keep the matching server timestamp and round identifier beside that record so a later correction can distinguish a changed build from a transcription error.
THE Robbery is best understood as three distinct evidence chains: direct Coin collection, a no-Collect five-reel Coin event and a free-spin grid that changes shape. Combining them into a generic “coin bonus” description loses the rules that determine settlement.
The provider supplies strong feature documentation but not probability weights, full paytable, purchase cost or local deployment. A useful review preserves those boundaries and gives readers a repeatable method for checking the live version.

How to verify the version you can actually open
A provider page proves that a title exists and describes the supplier's intended rules. It does not prove that a casino accepts players in New Zealand, that the title is enabled for a particular account, or that the highest published RTP is the version in the lobby. Treat availability, operator eligibility and product configuration as three separate checks.
Start with identity, then configuration
Open the game only through the authenticated casino lobby. The information or help panel should identify Betsoft, the exact title and the active mathematical return. Compare the reel or grid layout, paylines or cluster rules, named features and symbol behaviour with the official product material. Similar artwork or a matching title is not enough when the help file is missing or inconsistent.
When the supplier publishes several RTP values, report all of them as configurations. Do not assume the highest option is deployed. RTP is a theoretical long-run measure across a very large number of rounds; it is not a refund rate for one player and cannot predict the next result. Volatility is different: it describes how unevenly results are distributed on the provider's scale.
Read stake controls as money, not interface decoration
Provider sheets often quote a reference range in euros. That range does not establish New Zealand-dollar support or the limits in a specific account. Before a paid round, identify the total amount that will leave the balance. If the interface separates denomination, coins and lines, verify the combined total. If Extra Bet is active, calculate its full cost before pressing spin.
Feature-buy prices are multiples of the current bet, not promised returns. A 100x purchase at a $1 stake costs $100; at a $2 stake it costs $200. Availability can vary by market and some mathematical configurations may not support the control. If the live help does not explain the price, delivered feature and active RTP, leave the option unused.
Keep simulation figures in their proper scope
A game sheet may publish a maximum result observed in a large simulation. That is not automatically the contractual maximum payout and never describes a likely session. Preserve the provider's wording, sample size and configuration. Check the live rules for a binding cap and the operator terms for any separate payout limit. Do not turn an extreme result into a promotional headline.
Audit a disputed round
If an animation freezes or a connection drops, do not repeat the wager immediately. Reopen the game through the authenticated lobby and inspect round history. Record the time, total stake, balance movement and round identifier. The result can be settled by the gaming system even when the device never displays the final animation. Send evidence through verified operator support; never disclose a password, recovery phrase or one-time code.
Read the paytable as a calculation document
The paytable should explain what creates a win, which symbols substitute, where special symbols can land and how multiple awards combine. For line games, confirm direction and active paylines. For cluster games, confirm adjacency, minimum group size and the order of collection. For respins, identify what remains locked, what resets the counter and what ends the feature. A graphic effect can illustrate those rules but cannot replace them.
Separate addition from multiplication. Several prize values may be added before a multiplier applies, while reel-specific multipliers can sometimes multiply together only when each reel participates in the same win. Reconstruct one low-stake result from game history. If the arithmetic cannot be matched to the help file, stop and ask the operator rather than guessing.
Do not confuse hit frequency with a profitable round
Provider sheets can publish hit frequency or category probabilities. A hit simply means a round returned a qualifying amount; it can be smaller than the stake. “Big”, “Mega” or “Epic” thresholds are provider reporting categories, not promises. They are useful for comparing mathematical versions only when definitions and samples are the same.
Random outcomes do not become due after a long gap. A feature that appeared repeatedly in a demo or marketing clip has no obligation to repeat in a funded session. Previous rounds do not create a debt from the next random result.
Confirm market and device behaviour independently
A title can exist in the supplier catalogue while an operator disables it for a territory, currency, device or bonus. Language localisation is not evidence of legal availability. Confirm the operator's identity, accepted countries and current lobby separately from the provider review.
On mobile, verify that balance, total bet, feature state and help remain visible without overlap. On desktop, check that browser zoom does not hide a purchase control or change the apparent denomination. Mathematical configuration should not change merely because the screen changes; if the help shows another RTP, treat it as a different deployment and record it.
Keep a compact evidence record
For any fact used in a review, save the title, provider, official URL, document date when available, access date and exact territorial scope. For a live session, add the operator domain, Game ID, RTP, currency and a non-sensitive screenshot of the help panel. This makes later corrections possible when a supplier updates a sheet or an operator changes configuration.
Missing information should remain missing. Do not estimate an RTP from results, convert a euro reference range into an operator's NZD limit, or treat another casino's configuration as evidence. A transparent “not confirmed” is more useful than a precise-looking number without the correct source.
Use limits that survive the feature design
Collection meters, expanding grids, sticky symbols and near misses can make a session feel unfinished. Unless the rules explicitly preserve progress, the visible state has no value after the round or feature ends. Set a money limit and time limit before launch, count feature buys immediately, and stop at the limit even when a meter appears close to an upgrade.
No random game is an income plan. Do not borrow, use essential funds or raise the stake to recover a loss. If play stops feeling recreational, use timeout, deposit-limit or self-exclusion tools and consult the site's responsible gambling guide.
Primary source and correction path
This guide separates documented product information from market availability. Check the official source and the game help inside the exact version offered before making a decision.
