THE Gem Master collection and multiplier rules
A source-led guide to locked Bonus values, additive Customer Multipliers and the separate Scatter-triggered free-spin route.
Supplier sources below. Operator eligibility needs a separate check.

Betsoft lists THE Gem Master as live from 2 July 2026. Its official specification is five reels, four rows, 20 fixed paylines, 96.10% RTP, high volatility and a 21.00% hit rate. Six or more scattered Bonus symbols trigger respins, while three or more Scatters start a separate free-spin mode.
The respin formula is unusually clear: Bonus values and Customer Multipliers lock, new qualifying symbols reset the counter to three, then all Customer Multipliers are added together and applied to the total collected Bonus value.

Respins and the locked grid
When at least six Bonus symbols land, the feature starts. The visible Bonus values lock in place and the respin counter is set to three. Every new Bonus or Customer Multiplier locks and resets the counter to three.
Draw the five-by-four grid and copy every starting Bonus value. For each respin, mark new locked positions, symbol type and counter movement. Empty respins reduce the counter; qualifying additions restore it. This produces an auditable timeline instead of a single final-board screenshot.
The public page does not state maximum board value, Bonus-value distribution or whether multiple triggers can merge. Do not derive those fields from promotional footage.
At feature end, preserve the board before the interface sums it. A complete record needs the raw Bonus subtotal, multiplier list and final credited amount.
Customer Multiplier arithmetic
Betsoft says all Customer Multipliers are added together, and the sum is applied to the total collected Bonus value. This is different from multiplying the multipliers together.
For example, if Help and history show two Customer Multipliers, keep each value separate, add them once and then apply the combined number to the Bonus subtotal. Do not include ordinary line wins in that subtotal unless the deployed rules explicitly say so.
If no Customer Multiplier lands, record the feature’s actual treatment rather than assuming a 1x default. The public copy does not state that edge case. Likewise, simultaneous Bonus and Multiplier arrivals should follow the settlement order shown in Help.
Free spins
Three or more Scatter symbols trigger free spins. During the mode, Bonus and Wild symbols appear more frequently. The public page does not publish the number of spins, retrigger rules or probability increase.
Record the Scatter count, awarded spins and opening balance. For each free spin, distinguish normal payline wins from any respin trigger created by Bonus symbols. If respins can begin inside free spins, current Help should define how the counters and remaining spins interact.
“More frequently” is a qualitative description, not a percentage. A short sample cannot establish the increase or expected number of features.
Wild substitutions
Wild appears on every reel and substitutes for ordinary symbols except Scatter, Bonus and Customer Multiplier. Apply those exclusions when reconstructing the 20 paylines.
Capture line direction, minimum matching length and symbol values from Help. A Wild-assisted line should be traced from its starting reel through every substituted position. Never use the Wild to complete the special-symbol triggers it excludes.
The accessible product page does not disclose the complete paytable, stake limits or maximum win. Those fields remain deployment-specific.
Buy Bonus
The provider documents purchase choices for free spins or a respin round. That confirms two global product routes but not price, RTP variant or New Zealand availability.
If displayed locally, capture which feature is selected, its cost, active RTP, total stake and cancellation control before confirmation. Verify that the credited feature matches the chosen route.
The purchase is an in-game wager, not an operator bonus and not a free demo. It should remain inside a pre-set spending limit.
Bet Booster
Bet Booster increases the chance of triggering respins and free spins. Betsoft does not publish the price uplift or probability change on the accessible product page.
Record the stake with the booster off and on, along with any displayed RTP or odds notice. Do not translate “increased chance” into a numerical claim without primary evidence.
The booster does not guarantee either feature. Its cost belongs in the total stake column for every affected round.
RTP and hit-rate reading
The published 96.10% RTP is long-run theoretical return. High volatility describes distribution, while 21.00% hit rate counts qualifying hits that can still return less than stake.
Build a ledger with base stake, booster surcharge, line award, Bonus subtotal, Customer Multiplier sum and final feature credit. The separation shows whether the interface applied the documented additive formula.
Short observation is suitable for checking mechanics and disclosure. It cannot confirm the long-run RTP or infer hidden probabilities.
Mobile and continuity
On mobile, confirm all 20 grid positions, locked values and multiplier labels remain visible. The respin counter must not overlap the stake or confirmation controls.
After reconnect, compare locked positions, remaining respins and free-spin count with the last settled state. Preserve the round ID and server time if any value changes.
Accessibility checks include numeric labels, contrast, focus order, reduced motion and readable Help tables. Gem colour should not be the only way to distinguish a Bonus from a Customer Multiplier.
Audit checklist
- Match exact title and provider.
- Confirm 96.10% in live Help.
- Capture the five-by-four grid and 20 lines.
- Save all six or more triggering Bonus values.
- Record the opening three respins.
- Mark every locked Bonus and multiplier.
- Log each reset to three.
- Add Customer Multipliers rather than multiplying them.
- Preserve the Bonus subtotal separately.
- Record Scatter count and awarded free spins.
- Apply Wild exclusions correctly.
- Capture Buy Bonus routes only if enabled.
- Record Bet Booster surcharge and disclosure.
- Preserve round IDs for interrupted features.
- Do not claim local availability without operator proof.
Worked audit example
Start with a grid numbered one through twenty. If seven Bonus symbols trigger the feature, write each face value beside its coordinate and total those values in a subtotal column. After each respin, add only new locked symbols. A Customer Multiplier belongs in a separate list, not in the Bonus subtotal.
At the end, sum the Customer Multipliers according to Help and apply that sum to the collected Bonus value. Compare the calculated result with history. If the figures disagree, recheck currency-versus-stake units before reporting a fault.
For a boosted round, include the increased total wager in the header. This prevents the feature return from being compared with the unboosted base stake. A useful record shows both cost and settlement, not only the visually prominent award.
Respin reconciliation table
A compact reconciliation table needs one row per respin and four independent totals: locked Bonus value, newly landed Bonus value, Customer Multipliers and counter state. Carry the locked subtotal forward, add only genuinely new Bonus symbols and keep multiplier faces outside that arithmetic until settlement.
When a qualifying symbol resets the counter to three, record both the value before the spin and the reset value after it. This proves how many attempts remained and prevents an animation delay from being counted as an additional respin. At the final empty spin, preserve the board before the game moves to its collection screen.
The last calculation should be reproducible from the table: total collected Bonus value first, additive Customer Multiplier sum second, and the documented application third. If the displayed credit differs, check whether face values use stake units or currency before concluding that the rule failed.
Keeping the two feature routes distinct
Scatter free spins and six-Bonus respins have separate triggers. A Scatter should not be entered in the locked-value grid, and a Customer Multiplier should not be treated as a free-spin multiplier. If a respin feature can begin during free spins, the event needs a nested record with its own opening board and counter.
The official overview says Bonus and Wild symbols appear more frequently during free spins, but gives no numerical probability. Report the qualitative rule exactly and resist converting a short sample into a percentage. The same boundary applies to Bet Booster: it raises feature likelihood, yet its price and probability change must be read from the active deployment.
Verdict
THE Gem Master is mechanically readable when its two totals remain separate: collected Bonus values and the additive Customer Multiplier sum. Combining them prematurely is the main route to an incorrect explanation.
The provider confirms the core rules but leaves free-spin quantity, price settings, probability changes, paytable and local deployment to live Help. Those omissions should be displayed as verification tasks rather than filled with estimates.

How to verify the version you can actually open
A provider page proves that a title exists and describes the supplier's intended rules. It does not prove that a casino accepts players in New Zealand, that the title is enabled for a particular account, or that the highest published RTP is the version in the lobby. Treat availability, operator eligibility and product configuration as three separate checks.
Start with identity, then configuration
Open the game only through the authenticated casino lobby. The information or help panel should identify Betsoft, the exact title and the active mathematical return. Compare the reel or grid layout, paylines or cluster rules, named features and symbol behaviour with the official product material. Similar artwork or a matching title is not enough when the help file is missing or inconsistent.
When the supplier publishes several RTP values, report all of them as configurations. Do not assume the highest option is deployed. RTP is a theoretical long-run measure across a very large number of rounds; it is not a refund rate for one player and cannot predict the next result. Volatility is different: it describes how unevenly results are distributed on the provider's scale.
Read stake controls as money, not interface decoration
Provider sheets often quote a reference range in euros. That range does not establish New Zealand-dollar support or the limits in a specific account. Before a paid round, identify the total amount that will leave the balance. If the interface separates denomination, coins and lines, verify the combined total. If Extra Bet is active, calculate its full cost before pressing spin.
Feature-buy prices are multiples of the current bet, not promised returns. A 100x purchase at a $1 stake costs $100; at a $2 stake it costs $200. Availability can vary by market and some mathematical configurations may not support the control. If the live help does not explain the price, delivered feature and active RTP, leave the option unused.
Keep simulation figures in their proper scope
A game sheet may publish a maximum result observed in a large simulation. That is not automatically the contractual maximum payout and never describes a likely session. Preserve the provider's wording, sample size and configuration. Check the live rules for a binding cap and the operator terms for any separate payout limit. Do not turn an extreme result into a promotional headline.
Audit a disputed round
If an animation freezes or a connection drops, do not repeat the wager immediately. Reopen the game through the authenticated lobby and inspect round history. Record the time, total stake, balance movement and round identifier. The result can be settled by the gaming system even when the device never displays the final animation. Send evidence through verified operator support; never disclose a password, recovery phrase or one-time code.
Read the paytable as a calculation document
The paytable should explain what creates a win, which symbols substitute, where special symbols can land and how multiple awards combine. For line games, confirm direction and active paylines. For cluster games, confirm adjacency, minimum group size and the order of collection. For respins, identify what remains locked, what resets the counter and what ends the feature. A graphic effect can illustrate those rules but cannot replace them.
Separate addition from multiplication. Several prize values may be added before a multiplier applies, while reel-specific multipliers can sometimes multiply together only when each reel participates in the same win. Reconstruct one low-stake result from game history. If the arithmetic cannot be matched to the help file, stop and ask the operator rather than guessing.
Do not confuse hit frequency with a profitable round
Provider sheets can publish hit frequency or category probabilities. A hit simply means a round returned a qualifying amount; it can be smaller than the stake. “Big”, “Mega” or “Epic” thresholds are provider reporting categories, not promises. They are useful for comparing mathematical versions only when definitions and samples are the same.
Random outcomes do not become due after a long gap. A feature that appeared repeatedly in a demo or marketing clip has no obligation to repeat in a funded session. Previous rounds do not create a debt from the next random result.
Confirm market and device behaviour independently
A title can exist in the supplier catalogue while an operator disables it for a territory, currency, device or bonus. Language localisation is not evidence of legal availability. Confirm the operator's identity, accepted countries and current lobby separately from the provider review.
On mobile, verify that balance, total bet, feature state and help remain visible without overlap. On desktop, check that browser zoom does not hide a purchase control or change the apparent denomination. Mathematical configuration should not change merely because the screen changes; if the help shows another RTP, treat it as a different deployment and record it.
Keep a compact evidence record
For any fact used in a review, save the title, provider, official URL, document date when available, access date and exact territorial scope. For a live session, add the operator domain, Game ID, RTP, currency and a non-sensitive screenshot of the help panel. This makes later corrections possible when a supplier updates a sheet or an operator changes configuration.
Missing information should remain missing. Do not estimate an RTP from results, convert a euro reference range into an operator's NZD limit, or treat another casino's configuration as evidence. A transparent “not confirmed” is more useful than a precise-looking number without the correct source.
Use limits that survive the feature design
Collection meters, expanding grids, sticky symbols and near misses can make a session feel unfinished. Unless the rules explicitly preserve progress, the visible state has no value after the round or feature ends. Set a money limit and time limit before launch, count feature buys immediately, and stop at the limit even when a meter appears close to an upgrade.
No random game is an income plan. Do not borrow, use essential funds or raise the stake to recover a loss. If play stops feeling recreational, use timeout, deposit-limit or self-exclusion tools and consult the site's responsible gambling guide.
Primary source and correction path
This guide separates documented product information from market availability. Check the official source and the game help inside the exact version offered before making a decision.
