Betsoft lists Primal Hunt from 24 September 2020 with five reels, 80 paylines, 96.10% RTP, medium/high volatility and a 14.33% hit rate. Cave Lion symbols pay in any position and at least three trigger free spins. More Cave Lions award more spins, up to 20.

Wilds occur on reels two, three and four and substitute for every symbol except the Cave Lion. During free spins they can carry 2x or 3x multipliers, and multiple Wild multipliers multiply each other.

Cave Lion collection

The Cave Lion is not an ordinary left-to-right line symbol. Betsoft states that it pays in any position and that collecting at least three activates free spins. Record all Lion positions on the trigger grid, the anywhere-pay award, the awarded spin count and the opening feature state.

The public overview says that more Cave Lions provide more free spins and that the maximum is 20, but it does not expose the full count-to-award table in readable text. Copy that table from the active Help panel. Do not assume a linear increase or publish one reconstructed from a short video.

Keep the anywhere Scatter-style payment separate from ordinary line wins. A Lion can contribute to the trigger and an immediate award without following the 80 line paths. Combining both in a single unexplained total makes the round difficult to audit.

Eighty-line settlement

Save the complete line map before placing a paid round. Betsoft says the 80 paylines pay from left to right, while the Lion is the named exception because it pays anywhere. For each normal line win, trace the route, list the matching symbols and record the displayed value.

An 80-line screen can contain many overlapping highlights. Use the game history or line-by-line viewer rather than estimating the total from the grid. If the stake display uses coins, capture the coin value and total wager together so the paytable remains interpretable.

The public page does not state minimum stake, maximum stake or a maximum win. Those are deployment fields and should not be carried over from another operator.

Elemental Wild multipliers

Wilds appear only on the three middle reels. In the base game, the public description confirms substitution for all symbols except the Cave Lion. In free spins, a Wild may show a 2x or 3x multiplier.

The important interaction is multiplication between Wild multipliers. If a qualifying result contains a 2x and a 3x Wild, do not add them as 5x; record the displayed calculation and expect the documented multiplicative relationship. Preserve each Wild position and value because a Wild elsewhere on the screen does not automatically affect every line.

For each winning route, write the ordinary line award, participating multiplier Wilds, combined factor and settled line value. Then compare the sum with history. This exposes whether the same Wild participates in several separate line awards without incorrectly multiplying the whole screen.

Free-spin audit

Begin with the trigger grid and number every awarded spin in advance. On each row, record remaining spins, the grid, Cave Lions, ordinary line win, each 2x or 3x Wild and the final credited amount. A zero-win spin still belongs in the timeline.

Check Help for retrigger wording and any cap. The official public page confirms the initial relationship between Lion count and spins but does not state whether additional Lions during the feature extend it. Leave that rule open until the matching deployment says otherwise.

If a Wild multiplier appears, capture it before the reels clear or the next animation begins. Fast results can make a compounded factor difficult to reconstruct from the closing total alone.

RTP and hit-rate interpretation

The 96.10% RTP describes long-run theoretical return for the listed configuration. It does not forecast one feature or guarantee a percentage back from a session. The 14.33% hit rate can include results below the total stake and should not be translated into a profit frequency.

Medium/high volatility describes an uneven distribution relative to other models, not a safe stake or a countdown to free spins. The presence of two multiplier values does not make the higher value due after several ordinary Wilds.

Choose session limits before play and keep them independent of the Cave Lion count seen on earlier rounds. Unless Help explicitly defines persistent collection, each paid result should be treated according to its own settled state.

Mobile and interruption record

On mobile, confirm that all five reels, the total stake, Lion count, remaining free spins and Wild multiplier labels remain readable. Open the 80-line map in the same orientation intended for play. A compressed Help panel may hide tabs that remain obvious on desktop.

If connection is lost during the feature, reopen the authenticated lobby and allow the server record to restore. Compare the round ID, remaining counter and last settled balance. Do not create a second paid round until the first result is visible in history.

A support package should include title, date, time zone, total stake, trigger count, multiplier positions and final credit. Exclude passwords, authentication codes and remote-access permissions.

Evidence checklist

  • Match title and Betsoft studio.
  • Verify 96.10% in the active Help panel.
  • Capture all 80 paylines.
  • Record the Cave Lion anywhere-pay table.
  • Save the Lion-count-to-free-spins mapping.
  • Confirm the maximum of 20 starting free spins.
  • Restrict Wilds to reels two, three and four.
  • Record every 2x and 3x participating Wild.
  • Verify multiplier multiplication from history.
  • Keep New Zealand availability unconfirmed without operator proof.

Confirmed fields and open fields

Confirmed by the studio are the listed date, five reels, 80 left-to-right paylines, RTP, volatility, hit rate, anywhere-paying Cave Lion, three-or-more trigger, maximum of 20 free spins, restricted Wild reels and multiplicative 2x/3x feature Wilds.

The full paytable, stake limits, exact Lion trigger table, retrigger behaviour, maximum award and territorial availability remain live-build checks. Separating those groups prevents a strong official feature description from being stretched into unsupported operator claims.

Comparing the format

Primal Hunt is best compared through its mechanics rather than its prehistoric theme: 80 fixed routes, an anywhere-paying trigger symbol and line-specific multiplier Wilds. A title with fewer lines or additive multipliers produces a different audit problem even if its feature also uses free spins.

It may suit readers who enjoy tracing compound factors and dense line coverage. Someone wanting a simple single-total result may find the 80-line ledger demanding. That preference says nothing about the likelihood of profit.

Worked multiplier example method

Suppose a free-spin screen contains more than one multiplier Wild on a winning route. Start with the ordinary paytable award and list the multiplier on each participating middle-reel Wild. Apply them in the order described by Help, then compare the result with server history. The example should use placeholders until an actual build supplies the symbol value; invented cash figures would make the arithmetic look more certain than the source.

If another winning route uses only one of those Wilds, calculate that route separately. Do not transfer the full compounded factor across the entire grid. This route-level approach also shows why one final feature total cannot reveal every underlying multiplier interaction.

Store the example beside its stake unit and date. If a later build changes the paytable but keeps 2x and 3x Wilds, the procedure remains useful while the old monetary result does not.

Editorial correction trigger

Update the article when Betsoft changes its public value, a matching Help file supplies the missing trigger table, or a verified deployment contradicts a stated rule. Preserve the scope of both sources instead of choosing the more attractive configuration.

Verdict

Primal Hunt has unusually clear public documentation for its headline rules. The Cave Lion and Elemental Wild mechanics can be verified without inventing their purpose, while the exact trigger table and paytable still belong to the deployed Help file.

The most useful session record keeps three layers separate: ordinary line wins, the Lion’s anywhere payment and free-spin Wild multiplication.

How to verify the version you can actually open

A provider page proves that a title exists and describes the supplier's intended rules. It does not prove that a casino accepts players in New Zealand, that the title is enabled for a particular account, or that the highest published RTP is the version in the lobby. Treat availability, operator eligibility and product configuration as three separate checks.

Start with identity, then configuration

Open the game only through the authenticated casino lobby. The information or help panel should identify Betsoft, the exact title and the active mathematical return. Compare the reel or grid layout, paylines or cluster rules, named features and symbol behaviour with the official product material. Similar artwork or a matching title is not enough when the help file is missing or inconsistent.

When the supplier publishes several RTP values, report all of them as configurations. Do not assume the highest option is deployed. RTP is a theoretical long-run measure across a very large number of rounds; it is not a refund rate for one player and cannot predict the next result. Volatility is different: it describes how unevenly results are distributed on the provider's scale.

Read stake controls as money, not interface decoration

Provider sheets often quote a reference range in euros. That range does not establish New Zealand-dollar support or the limits in a specific account. Before a paid round, identify the total amount that will leave the balance. If the interface separates denomination, coins and lines, verify the combined total. If Extra Bet is active, calculate its full cost before pressing spin.

Feature-buy prices are multiples of the current bet, not promised returns. A 100x purchase at a $1 stake costs $100; at a $2 stake it costs $200. Availability can vary by market and some mathematical configurations may not support the control. If the live help does not explain the price, delivered feature and active RTP, leave the option unused.

Keep simulation figures in their proper scope

A game sheet may publish a maximum result observed in a large simulation. That is not automatically the contractual maximum payout and never describes a likely session. Preserve the provider's wording, sample size and configuration. Check the live rules for a binding cap and the operator terms for any separate payout limit. Do not turn an extreme result into a promotional headline.

Audit a disputed round

If an animation freezes or a connection drops, do not repeat the wager immediately. Reopen the game through the authenticated lobby and inspect round history. Record the time, total stake, balance movement and round identifier. The result can be settled by the gaming system even when the device never displays the final animation. Send evidence through verified operator support; never disclose a password, recovery phrase or one-time code.

Read the paytable as a calculation document

The paytable should explain what creates a win, which symbols substitute, where special symbols can land and how multiple awards combine. For line games, confirm direction and active paylines. For cluster games, confirm adjacency, minimum group size and the order of collection. For respins, identify what remains locked, what resets the counter and what ends the feature. A graphic effect can illustrate those rules but cannot replace them.

Separate addition from multiplication. Several prize values may be added before a multiplier applies, while reel-specific multipliers can sometimes multiply together only when each reel participates in the same win. Reconstruct one low-stake result from game history. If the arithmetic cannot be matched to the help file, stop and ask the operator rather than guessing.

Do not confuse hit frequency with a profitable round

Provider sheets can publish hit frequency or category probabilities. A hit simply means a round returned a qualifying amount; it can be smaller than the stake. “Big”, “Mega” or “Epic” thresholds are provider reporting categories, not promises. They are useful for comparing mathematical versions only when definitions and samples are the same.

Random outcomes do not become due after a long gap. A feature that appeared repeatedly in a demo or marketing clip has no obligation to repeat in a funded session. Previous rounds do not create a debt from the next random result.

Confirm market and device behaviour independently

A title can exist in the supplier catalogue while an operator disables it for a territory, currency, device or bonus. Language localisation is not evidence of legal availability. Confirm the operator's identity, accepted countries and current lobby separately from the provider review.

On mobile, verify that balance, total bet, feature state and help remain visible without overlap. On desktop, check that browser zoom does not hide a purchase control or change the apparent denomination. Mathematical configuration should not change merely because the screen changes; if the help shows another RTP, treat it as a different deployment and record it.

Keep a compact evidence record

For any fact used in a review, save the title, provider, official URL, document date when available, access date and exact territorial scope. For a live session, add the operator domain, Game ID, RTP, currency and a non-sensitive screenshot of the help panel. This makes later corrections possible when a supplier updates a sheet or an operator changes configuration.

Missing information should remain missing. Do not estimate an RTP from results, convert a euro reference range into an operator's NZD limit, or treat another casino's configuration as evidence. A transparent “not confirmed” is more useful than a precise-looking number without the correct source.

Use limits that survive the feature design

Collection meters, expanding grids, sticky symbols and near misses can make a session feel unfinished. Unless the rules explicitly preserve progress, the visible state has no value after the round or feature ends. Set a money limit and time limit before launch, count feature buys immediately, and stop at the limit even when a meter appears close to an upgrade.

No random game is an income plan. Do not borrow, use essential funds or raise the stake to recover a loss. If play stops feeling recreational, use timeout, deposit-limit or self-exclusion tools and consult the site's responsible gambling guide.

Primary source and correction path

This guide separates documented product information from market availability. Check the official source and the game help inside the exact version offered before making a decision.
