Dog Town Deal — build the hand before climbing the ladder

Two Card Scatters can open a one-step Deal, while three or more start Free Spins where completed hands determine multiplier-ladder progress.

Dog Town Deal by Quickspin is a 3×5, 20-line slot with eight paying symbols, Wilds, Card Scatters, The Deal and Top Dog Free Spins.

RTP, stakes and volatility

The official sheet publishes 96.15% and 94.19% total RTP models and a third lower configuration. Volatility is two on the highest model and 1.5 on the middle model. The reference bet range is €0.20–€100.

The sheet’s simulations report results around 1,200x in 100 million spins. These are observed test results, not guaranteed maximums for a player session.

Card Scatter thresholds

Two Card Scatters trigger The Deal: the two cards reveal a hand and a value of sixteen or more produces a bet-multiplied award under the published rule.

Three Scatters award seven Free Spins, four award ten and five award fifteen. This threshold table matters because the same symbol opens a different mode depending on its count.

Wilds substitute for ordinary symbols but not Card Scatters, so a Wild cannot complete the trigger count.

Hands and multiplier ladder

During Top Dog Free Spins, matching symbols award cards: three of a kind gives one, four gives two and five gives three. The completed hand then moves the multiplier ladder. Blackjack advances three steps, Five Card Charlie advances two, a value of sixteen or more advances one, and a bust discards the cards.

When the scheduled Free Spins end, Dog Town Deal supplies additional spins until the final hand finishes. Record the remaining spins and unfinished cards separately.

The buy price is 50x for direct Free Spin entry where available. Quickspin says the feature may be disabled in some markets.

Mobile and source checks

On mobile, the card hand, multiplier ladder and remaining spins should stay visible together. If the animation hides a state, open the history or wait for the complete hand.

Brawler’s Brew uses a different character-led collection system. The Quickspin catalogue guide explains why shared artwork or themes do not transfer rules between titles.

Reading the base 3×5 screen

Dog Town Deal uses five reels, three visible rows and 20 fixed bet lines. Record the total stake before the spin and trace each award against the line table. Eight ordinary paying symbols are listed alongside the Wild and Card Scatter, but only the active paytable supplies the values for the deployed version.

Wilds can replace ordinary symbols on a line. They cannot replace Card Scatters, so keep line evaluation and feature-trigger counting separate. A Wild that completes a normal combination does not turn a two-Scatter screen into a three-Scatter Free Spins trigger.

Save the opening grid, line numbers, substituted positions and state subtotal. Dog Town Deal’s important transitions happen after the symbols settle, and a cropped image of only the card table can hide the reel evidence that selected the feature.

One symbol, two trigger systems

The Card Scatter count determines which route begins. Exactly two Card Scatters activate The Deal. Three, four or five Card Scatters activate Top Dog Free Spins with seven, ten or fifteen starting spins respectively.

Do not add the two-Scatter side award to the Free Spins trigger unless the live rules expressly show both on the same result. The provider description presents two Scatters as The Deal and three or more as the Free Spins route. One settled count selects the corresponding mode.

Record each Scatter coordinate and the total before the transition. This prevents a Wild, card graphic or later hand card from being misread as another trigger symbol.

The Deal with two Card Scatters

When two Card Scatters land, both cards turn over and reveal the hand. Quickspin states that a hand value of 16 or more produces an award multiplied by the bet. Save the two revealed cards, displayed total and resulting award.

The provider’s concise feature text does not justify inventing a separate blackjack premium, bust penalty or dealer rule for this two-card event. Read the exact live help and result screen. If the hand is below 16, record that outcome rather than applying the Top Dog ladder rules.

The Deal is a resolved side feature attached to the paid spin. It is not the same as collecting cards across Free Spins, and it does not establish how far the multiplier ladder should move in the later mode.

Seven-spin entry from three Scatters

Three actual Card Scatters award seven Top Dog Free Spins. Capture the trigger grid, seven-spin counter and opening ladder position. Wild substitution cannot create the third Scatter.

During the feature, qualifying matching-symbol results award playing cards. Keep the Free Spin number, symbol-of-a-kind count and card award together. The scheduled counter and the number of cards held are independent: a spin may change one, both or neither.

At the end of the seven scheduled spins, an unfinished final hand can cause extra completion spins. Those spins are part of the same feature and should not be described as a new retrigger without evidence.

Ten-spin entry from four Scatters

Four Card Scatters award ten Free Spins. Record all four trigger coordinates so the tier can be distinguished from a three-Scatter result. The ten spins are the starting schedule, not a guarantee that exactly ten reel resolutions will be displayed before the final hand completes.

Use the same card and ladder worksheet as for the seven-spin tier. Do not assume the extra three scheduled spins produce a specific number of hands or ladder steps. Cards are earned through the documented matching-symbol conditions.

If the final scheduled spin leaves cards outstanding, continue recording the additional completion sequence until the game closes the hand and settles the feature.

Fifteen-spin entry from five Scatters

Five Card Scatters award fifteen Free Spins, the largest starting tier listed on the provider page. Save the complete trigger screen because all five reels must supply an actual Scatter.

The larger schedule provides more feature spins but does not promise blackjack, Five Card Charlie or a particular ladder height. Each hand must be built from the cards actually awarded.

Keep the final-hand extension separate from the starting fifteen. The feature history should show which spins belong to the normal counter and which were added solely to resolve the in-progress hand.

How cards are awarded

Quickspin states that three of a kind award one Playing Card, four of a kind award two and five of a kind award three during Top Dog Free Spins. Record the matching symbol, count and number of cards granted on each spin.

“Of a kind” in this feature text describes the qualifying result that produces cards. It should not be confused with the visible playing-card values later used to form the hand. Preserve both layers: reel match and received card.

If a Wild participates in the ordinary symbol result, note its coordinate and verify the qualification in the live history. Do not infer a card from a visually similar group that the server did not identify as three, four or five of a kind.

Building a hand across spins

The awarded Playing Cards accumulate into the active hand. For every card, store the feature spin, displayed rank and running hand value. When multiple cards arrive together, preserve their shown order if the interface uses that order to resolve the hand.

A hand can remain incomplete while the scheduled counter decreases. This is why remaining spins and hand progress need separate columns. A screenshot showing two held cards cannot establish how many scheduled spins remain.

When the game declares the hand complete, save the final cards, classification and ladder movement before clearing the record for the next hand.

Blackjack and three ladder steps

A completed Blackjack advances three steps on the Multiplier Ladder. Record the hand the game labels as Blackjack, the ladder position before the award and the position after three steps.

Do not reconstruct a blackjack from assumptions borrowed from a table game if the slot’s help or history supplies the classification. The server label is the strongest evidence for how the hand was interpreted.

Three steps are ladder movement, not automatically a 3× award. The actual multiplier belongs to the destination rung shown by the game. Preserve the rung values rather than replacing them with the number of steps.

Five Card Charlie and two ladder steps

Five Card Charlie advances two steps. Save all five cards and the classification screen. The defining feature here is the game’s completed-hand label, not a general casino rule imported from another product.

Record the old rung, two-step movement and new rung. If the move reaches a boundary or special position, use the actual displayed result rather than extrapolating beyond the visible ladder.

Keep this hand distinct from a generic value of 16 or more, which advances only one step under the published hierarchy.

A hand of 16 or more

A completed hand valued at 16 or above advances one ladder step when it is not resolved as one of the higher listed categories. Store the cards, displayed value and one-step movement.

The base-game Deal also uses a threshold of 16, but it produces a bet-multiplied award under a separate rule. In Free Spins, the threshold controls the ladder. Labelling each record with “Deal” or “Top Dog” prevents the two consequences from being mixed.

Do not turn the hand value itself into a multiplier. The ladder destination determines the active multiplier shown by the feature.

Busts and cleared hands

If a hand busts, the cards are discarded rather than advancing the ladder. Capture the final value, bust label and unchanged ladder position. The next awarded card should belong to a new hand.

A bust does not erase awards already settled on the reels unless the live help explicitly says so. Keep ordinary line wins, card collection and ladder movement in separate subtotal fields.

Verify that the cleared-hand display resets before assigning later cards. This prevents the final card of one hand from being counted again in the next.

Multiplier Ladder accounting

Create a ladder log with columns for starting rung, hand category, steps awarded, ending rung and multiplier displayed after movement. The number of steps and the numerical multiplier are not interchangeable.

When a hand completes, update the ladder once. Do not apply movement card by card unless the game history shows separate completed hands. Multiple cards from one qualifying reel result may still contribute to the same hand.

At feature settlement, compare the applied multiplier with the ladder state shown for the relevant award. The official page describes movement categories but the live paytable should be used for exact rung values.

Completing the final hand

When no scheduled Free Spins remain, Dog Town Deal awards additional spins until the final hand has been completed. Record the moment the regular counter reaches zero and the cards still held.

Label subsequent spins “hand completion” rather than adding them to the original seven, ten or fifteen. Continue logging matching results and received cards until the hand resolves. Once it completes, verify that the feature ends and the final total is settled.

The extension exists to complete the cards already in progress. The provider description does not support claiming unlimited new scheduled hands after the counter reaches zero.

Bought entry at 50×

The Buy Feature is available from the base game where the market permits it. Its published price is 50× the bet and it triggers Free Spins with at least three Card Scatters.

Before confirmation, record base bet, total account-currency cost, active RTP and the displayed availability notice. After confirmation, save the actual Scatter count and resulting starting counter; “3+” allows the evidence to show a higher tier.

The 50× price buys the trigger condition, not a 50× minimum return. Keep the purchase debit, feature awards and final credit as separate ledger entries.

Natural versus purchased triggers

A natural trigger begins with an ordinary spin debit and three to five Scatters. A purchased trigger begins with the 50× confirmation and a supplied 3+ Scatter result. Mark the entry type before comparing outcomes.

Once Top Dog Free Spins begin, the hand and ladder rules follow the displayed feature state. Still, the evidence required to prove entry differs: reel result for natural play, confirmation screen for purchase.

Do not use the provider’s market-wide availability statement to claim the button exists in New Zealand. Check the tested account and date.

RTP and volatility configurations

The official sheet publishes 96.15% and 94.19% and includes a third lower configuration. Record the exact live percentage from the game’s help and its Game ID. Do not infer the third value from another title or silently select the highest model.

The sheet maps volatility two to the highest model and 1.5 to the middle model. Preserve that mapping rather than presenting one universal volatility value. Neither value predicts which hand will be dealt in a short session.

The €0.20–€100 supplier range is a reference in euros, not proof of an NZD minimum or maximum. Local stakes must come from the deployed interface.

Interpreting simulation results

The sheet reports results around 1,200× in 100 million-spin simulations. These are observed test outcomes and should stay attached to the corresponding model and sample. They do not mean one result of that size must occur every 100 million spins.

Do not market the simulation peak as a guaranteed maximum unless the active paytable independently defines the same value as a cap. A player-facing review should distinguish a test observation, contractual rule and individual feature result.

For a live session, rely on the server history and account ledger rather than comparing one feature with the simulation headline.

Read the three model pages as a configuration matrix

The supplier PDF was checked across all three rendered pages on 7 October 2026. Its identifiers distinguish the published models; they do not show which model an operator has deployed for a particular account.

Supplier Game ID Base-game RTP contribution Free-game RTP contribution Total RTP Supplier volatility, 1–5 scale
dogtowndeal 69.12% 27.03% 96.15% 2
dogtowndeal94 69.17% 25.02% 94.19% 1.5
dogtowndeal87 69.35% 17.81% 87.15% 1

The base and free columns are components of the model’s total return. For example, 69.12 + 27.03 = 96.15. They are not the chance of entering each mode, and the free-game contribution is not a percentage return on a separately purchased feature. A review should preserve the table’s meaning rather than treating the 27.03 figure as a bonus-entry probability or a guarantee about one hand.

Comparing the highest and lowest published totals gives 96.15 − 87.15 = 9.00 percentage points. That difference is not a nine-point reduction in every line win or ladder award. The visible trigger and hand rules can look familiar while the overall mathematical model differs. Identifying the launched configuration therefore matters even when screenshots of the three versions look alike.

All three sheet pages give the same euro reference limits, €0.20 and €100, and a €1 default bet. A filename or reference stake does not establish the currency, selected stake or available purchase button in a live New Zealand account. Match the actual help percentage and Game ID first, then record operator-specific values separately.

The simulation labels also require their own sample column: the highest-return sheet reports 1,213× in 98,712,446 spins, while the other pages report 1,231× and 1,293× in 100 million spins. These observed peaks cannot be ranked as three promised player caps. A contractual maximum, if one is shown by the deployed rules, needs separate evidence rather than extrapolation from the simulation record.

A complete feature worksheet

Recommended fields are round ID, entry type, Scatter count, starting spins, current spin, matching-symbol count, cards awarded, active hand, hand value, classification, ladder start, steps, ladder end, reel subtotal and feature subtotal.

Add an extension flag for spins after the scheduled counter reaches zero. This makes it clear why the feature can show more reel resolutions than its initial tier.

At the end, reconcile completed hands and ladder changes with the displayed feature total. Then compare the credit with the account ledger.

Worked chronology

Suppose a natural trigger contains four Card Scatters. Record ten starting spins. On a later spin, four of a kind award two Playing Cards; add both to the active hand but do not move the ladder yet.

Further cards complete a hand the game classifies as Five Card Charlie. Record two ladder steps and the new rung. If the tenth scheduled spin ends with another hand unfinished, mark the counter at zero and continue with completion spins until the game declares its result.

This example explains record structure only. It does not assign fictional cards, multiplier values, frequencies or payouts.

Mobile display checks

The 3×5 reels, Card Scatter count, active hand, ladder and remaining spins should be readable on a phone. If one panel overlays another, use completed history to verify the state rather than guessing from animation.

The final-hand extension needs an explicit label or counter state so it is not mistaken for a fresh paid spin. Verify that the account is not debited again during feature completion.

Cards and ladder positions should be distinguishable without relying only on colour. Text labels and visible values are important evidence for a hand dispute.

Support-case evidence

Provide the title, Game ID, RTP, stake, round ID, trigger grid and Scatter count. For Top Dog, include every card award, completed-hand classification, ladder transition and extension spin.

For a bought feature, add the 50× confirmation and debit. For The Deal, include the two revealed cards, displayed value and award. Do not send passwords or payment secrets.

Source and availability boundaries

Quickspin’s page supports the 20-line layout, trigger thresholds, card awards, ladder movement and buy price. It does not prove that Dog Town Deal is listed by a New Zealand casino or that the purchase is locally enabled.

The original jazz-basement hero is editorial artwork, not a gameplay capture. Use it for visual orientation only. Rules and values must remain tied to the official page, current help and actual round history.

Official sources

Bottom line: keep the Scatter threshold, collected cards and multiplier-ladder step as three separate pieces of evidence.

How to verify the version you can actually open

A provider page proves that a title exists and describes the supplier's intended rules. It does not prove that a casino accepts players in New Zealand, that the title is enabled for a particular account, or that the highest published RTP is the version in the lobby. Treat availability, operator eligibility and product configuration as three separate checks.

Start with identity, then configuration

Open the game only through the authenticated casino lobby. The information or help panel should identify Quickspin, the exact title and the active mathematical return. Compare the reel or grid layout, paylines or cluster rules, named features and symbol behaviour with the official product material. Similar artwork or a matching title is not enough when the help file is missing or inconsistent.

When the supplier publishes several RTP values, report all of them as configurations. Do not assume the highest option is deployed. RTP is a theoretical long-run measure across a very large number of rounds; it is not a refund rate for one player and cannot predict the next result. Volatility is different: it describes how unevenly results are distributed on the provider's scale.

Read stake controls as money, not interface decoration

Provider sheets often quote a reference range in euros. That range does not establish New Zealand-dollar support or the limits in a specific account. Before a paid round, identify the total amount that will leave the balance. If the interface separates denomination, coins and lines, verify the combined total. If Extra Bet is active, calculate its full cost before pressing spin.

Feature-buy prices are multiples of the current bet, not promised returns. A 100x purchase at a $1 stake costs $100; at a $2 stake it costs $200. Availability can vary by market and some mathematical configurations may not support the control. If the live help does not explain the price, delivered feature and active RTP, leave the option unused.

Keep simulation figures in their proper scope

A game sheet may publish a maximum result observed in a large simulation. That is not automatically the contractual maximum payout and never describes a likely session. Preserve the provider's wording, sample size and configuration. Check the live rules for a binding cap and the operator terms for any separate payout limit. Do not turn an extreme result into a promotional headline.

Audit a disputed round

If an animation freezes or a connection drops, do not repeat the wager immediately. Reopen the game through the authenticated lobby and inspect round history. Record the time, total stake, balance movement and round identifier. The result can be settled by the gaming system even when the device never displays the final animation. Send evidence through verified operator support; never disclose a password, recovery phrase or one-time code.

Read the paytable as a calculation document

The paytable should explain what creates a win, which symbols substitute, where special symbols can land and how multiple awards combine. For line games, confirm direction and active paylines. For cluster games, confirm adjacency, minimum group size and the order of collection. For respins, identify what remains locked, what resets the counter and what ends the feature. A graphic effect can illustrate those rules but cannot replace them.

Separate addition from multiplication. Several prize values may be added before a multiplier applies, while reel-specific multipliers can sometimes multiply together only when each reel participates in the same win. Reconstruct one low-stake result from game history. If the arithmetic cannot be matched to the help file, stop and ask the operator rather than guessing.

Do not confuse hit frequency with a profitable round

Provider sheets can publish hit frequency or category probabilities. A hit simply means a round returned a qualifying amount; it can be smaller than the stake. “Big”, “Mega” or “Epic” thresholds are provider reporting categories, not promises. They are useful for comparing mathematical versions only when definitions and samples are the same.

Random outcomes do not become due after a long gap. A feature that appeared repeatedly in a demo or marketing clip has no obligation to repeat in a funded session. Previous rounds do not create a debt from the next random result.

Confirm market and device behaviour independently

A title can exist in the supplier catalogue while an operator disables it for a territory, currency, device or bonus. Language localisation is not evidence of legal availability. Confirm the operator's identity, accepted countries and current lobby separately from the provider review.

On mobile, verify that balance, total bet, feature state and help remain visible without overlap. On desktop, check that browser zoom does not hide a purchase control or change the apparent denomination. Mathematical configuration should not change merely because the screen changes; if the help shows another RTP, treat it as a different deployment and record it.

Keep a compact evidence record

For any fact used in a review, save the title, provider, official URL, document date when available, access date and exact territorial scope. For a live session, add the operator domain, Game ID, RTP, currency and a non-sensitive screenshot of the help panel. This makes later corrections possible when a supplier updates a sheet or an operator changes configuration.

Missing information should remain missing. Do not estimate an RTP from results, convert a euro reference range into an operator's NZD limit, or treat another casino's configuration as evidence. A transparent “not confirmed” is more useful than a precise-looking number without the correct source.

Use limits that survive the feature design

Collection meters, expanding grids, sticky symbols and near misses can make a session feel unfinished. Unless the rules explicitly preserve progress, the visible state has no value after the round or feature ends. Set a money limit and time limit before launch, count feature buys immediately, and stop at the limit even when a meter appears close to an upgrade.

No random game is an income plan. Do not borrow, use essential funds or raise the stake to recover a loss. If play stops feeling recreational, use timeout, deposit-limit or self-exclusion tools and consult the site's responsible gambling guide.

Primary source and correction path

This guide separates documented product information from market availability. Check the official source and the game help inside the exact version offered before making a decision.
