Pigs of Steel — fortify each tumble before the Wolf attacks

Red, green and blue Piggies turn Wild after two, four and six tumbles. Removed Piggies also build armour layers that can preserve symbols against the Wolf.

Big Bad Wolf: Pigs of Steel by Quickspin is a 3×5 tumbling game. Red Piggies turn Wild after two tumbles, green after four and blue after six, so the order and length of a tumble chain matter.

Verified configuration

The official sheet lists total RTP versions of 96.14%, 94.19%, 92.07% and an 87% configuration, volatility five out of five and a €0.20–€100 reference stake range. Confirm the deployed model in live help.

Simulated maximum results are around 18,000x across 100 million spins. They describe test output, not a likely session return.

Fortification layers

Winning Piggy removals fill the Pigs of Steel meter. Three removed Piggies add one armour layer; six add two. The layers help upgraded symbols remain through Wolf attacks and create further combinations.

Track colour activation and armour separately. A symbol becoming Wild and a symbol gaining protection are related to the tumble sequence but are not the same event.

Three bonus levels

Three, four or five Wolf Bonus symbols trigger Bonus, Super Bonus or Ultra Bonus. Each starts with ten spins and a multiplier path beginning at x1 and progressing to x2 and x3.

Collecting Moon Bonus Scatters awards two spins and doubles the current multiplier at the documented thresholds. In Super and Ultra, a filled Pigs of Steel meter does not reset between spins and upgrades persist for the rest of the feature.

Mobile and evidence checks

The mobile view should show tumble count, Piggy colours, armour layers, Moon collection and multiplier. Preserve the Game ID and before/after states when a Wolf attack is disputed.

Compare Pineapple Crush for another tumble-driven progression model. The provider guide covers deployment and local-availability checks.

Base field and tumble states

Pigs of Steel uses a five-reel, three-row screen. After a win, the contributing symbols disappear and replacements fall into their cells. A new win starts another tumble in the same paid round.

Label the initial grid W0 and later states W1, W2 and onward. Save winning positions, removed Piggies, colour counters and armour after each state.

The tumble number matters because red, green and blue Piggies reach Wild status at different thresholds. A final screenshot cannot show when each upgrade occurred.

Red Piggies at two tumbles

Red Piggies become Wild after the second qualifying tumble under the documented progression. Record the counter before and after the threshold and mark every red position upgraded.

The Wild state affects later combination evaluation; it should not be applied retroactively to wins settled before the second tumble.

If a red Piggy is removed before reaching the threshold, record its contribution to the steel meter separately from an upgrade it never received.

Green Piggies at four tumbles

Green Piggies require four tumbles before becoming Wild. Maintain the same round counter and apply the green upgrade only when its threshold is reached.

A round can therefore have red Wild Piggies while green Piggies remain ordinary. Store colour and state for every position rather than writing “Piggies are Wild”.

Later Wolf attacks and armour can preserve upgraded green symbols according to feature state; the counter alone is not armour.

Blue Piggies at six tumbles

Blue Piggies reach Wild status after six tumbles. This is the deepest colour threshold and requires a long chain in the same paid round.

Do not combine tumbles from separate paid spins. The colour progression belongs to the active round or bonus state documented by the game.

When blue upgrades, mark the exact cells and later line or cluster contribution. A six-tumble marketing image does not prove the next round will reach the same stage.

Pigs of Steel meter

Winning Piggy removals fill the Pigs of Steel meter. Store every removed Piggy and cumulative count. This meter controls fortification layers, while tumble count controls colour-to-Wild upgrades.

Three removed Piggies add one armour layer. Six removed Piggies add two. Record when each threshold is crossed and which eligible symbols receive protection.

Do not add armour simply because three Piggies are visible; they must be removed through the documented winning event.

One- and two-layer fortification

An armour layer protects an upgraded symbol from a Wolf attack under the feature rules. Represent each symbol with a layer counter rather than a binary fortified flag.

When the Wolf attacks, reduce or remove protection according to the live history. A symbol with two layers can survive more than one removal stage, while an unarmoured symbol may disappear.

Store the grid before attack, layers consumed and grid after attack. This makes preservation visible without relying on sparks or metal artwork.

Wolf attack sequence

Wolf attacks interact with upgraded and fortified Piggies. Record the trigger, targeted positions and effect on each layer or symbol.

Do not evaluate the displayed result until the attack and any resulting combinations settle. A protected Piggy remaining on screen is not itself a cash award.

If the attack produces another winning state, add it to the same tumble chain and update colour and steel meters in event order.

Three Wolf Bonus symbols

Three Wolf Bonus symbols open the standard Bonus with ten spins. Save the trigger grid, starting multiplier at x1 and initial Pigs of Steel meter state.

The standard route uses the base persistence rules described by the live help. Do not import Super or Ultra persistence merely because the same meter is visible.

Record Moon Bonus Scatter collection and multiplier changes separately from armour.

Four symbols: Super Bonus

Four Wolf Bonus symbols open Super Bonus with ten spins. In this route, a filled Pigs of Steel meter does not reset between spins and upgrades persist for the remainder of the feature.

Store upgraded colours and armour at the end of every spin, then carry them into the next. A new spin does not erase the Super state.

The starting length remains ten; the benefit is the stronger persistence, not a larger initial counter in the source summary.

Five symbols: Ultra Bonus

Five Wolf Bonus symbols open Ultra Bonus, also beginning with ten spins. The persistent meter and upgrades follow the advanced rule across the feature.

Record the exact Ultra label and trigger count. A dramatic Wolf animation is not enough to distinguish four- and five-symbol routes.

Keep the Ultra mechanics tied to the deployed help. Do not invent another multiplier tier solely because it is the highest named feature.

Moon Bonus Scatters

Moon Bonus Scatters add two spins and double the current multiplier at the documented thresholds. Store cumulative Moon count, threshold reached, spins before and after, and multiplier before and after.

The path begins at x1 and can progress to x2 and x3 as described. Do not continue doubling beyond the published sequence without evidence.

Moon collection, Piggy removal and ordinary tumble awards are separate event types. Use different worksheet columns.

Multiplier path

At x1, feature awards use the base value. After the documented Moon threshold, the active multiplier doubles to x2; a later threshold can move it to x3 under the source’s progression wording.

Record the multiplier attached to each settled win. Do not apply the final x3 value retrospectively to awards paid at x1 or x2.

If the active help describes a specific threshold count, preserve it. The extracted summary does not justify inventing exact Moon numbers.

Bonus-state worksheet

Create one row per Free Spin with route, remaining spins, tumble count, red/green/blue Wild states, steel meter, armour layers, Wolf attacks, Moon count and multiplier.

Within each spin, add sub-rows for tumbles. At the end, carry persistent state only where the selected bonus permits it.

This structure separates three interacting progress systems that otherwise look like one animated fortress.

RTP alternatives

The listed models are 96.14%, 94.19%, 92.07% and an 87% configuration. They are separate deployments. Record the exact value and Game ID in live help.

All are rated five out of five for volatility in the source. This does not predict a six-tumble chain or Ultra Bonus.

Where the 87% row lacks a more precise extracted decimal, keep it at the published precision rather than inventing hundredths.

Simulation results

The provider sheet reports observed maxima around 18,000× in 100-million-spin samples. Preserve the model-specific value if the full table is used later.

The observation is not a formal guarantee or personal frequency. A source saying “around” should not be rewritten as one exact universal cap.

Use the live paytable for any contractual maximum statement.

Example of colour and armour separation

Suppose the round reaches tumble two and upgrades red Piggies. If three Piggies have also been removed, one armour layer is added. Record red Wild status and one layer as different fields.

If a Wolf attack consumes the layer, the red Piggy can remain Wild but unarmoured. This demonstrates why “fortified Wild” should not replace the two-state model.

The example explains accounting only and does not predict the length of a tumble chain.

Mobile validation

On a phone, verify tumble number, colour states, steel meter, armour, Moon collection, multiplier and remaining spins. None should rely only on colour.

Open completed round history to inspect attacks and state carry. A final fortress image lacks the sequence needed for audit.

Record the server round ID and active bonus route in every support case.

Product and operator scope

Quickspin establishes the mechanics, RTPs and reference euro range. It does not establish New Zealand availability, NZD stakes or casino withdrawals.

Keep Pigs of Steel separate from Big Bad Wolf base titles and from Pineapple Crush. Label the farm-fortress image as editorial artwork and date the source review.

Tumble counter reset

The colour thresholds belong to the active tumble sequence. When a paid round ends and the next wager begins, do not carry a base-game count of two, four or six unless the live feature explicitly preserves it.

Inside Super and Ultra bonuses, the source states that filled meter and upgrades persist between spins. Record that persistence as a feature exception rather than rewriting the base-game reset rule.

At every spin boundary, write which counters reset and which state carries. This is the simplest way to prevent a green or blue upgrade from being awarded one round too early.

Counting removed Piggies

Use coordinates for every Piggy removed in a winning tumble. If one Piggy contributes to several overlapping combinations, it is still one removed grid cell for the steel meter.

Update the cumulative count after the tumble settles. When the count crosses three or six, record the layer award once at that threshold. Do not add a layer for every line containing the same Piggy.

If more than six Piggies are removed across a feature, follow the live meter cycle for later thresholds and carry. The extracted rule establishes the first one- and two-layer states but should not be extended by assumption.

Armour-state notation

Represent an upgraded symbol as colour, Wild status and armour count—for example, red/Wild/2. After one Wolf attack consumes a layer, update it to red/Wild/1. If the second layer is consumed, red/Wild/0 remains only if the rule preserves the symbol.

This notation separates visual steel plating from actual protection. A symbol can be Wild without armour or armoured while waiting for an attack.

Store the event that created and removed every layer. The server history, not the final art, establishes the state.

Standard versus persistent bonus state

For the three-symbol Bonus, inspect the help for how the steel meter behaves at a Free Spin boundary. Do not assume persistence simply because Super and Ultra explicitly preserve a filled meter and upgrades.

For Super and Ultra, carry both meter and upgraded Piggies forward. Mark the state at the end of spin one as the opening state for spin two.

This difference is more important than the identical starting count of ten spins. A feature comparison should focus on state retention rather than calling one route “more spins”.

Moon threshold evidence

The summary confirms that Moon collection adds two spins and advances the multiplier at documented thresholds, but it does not supply exact Moon counts. Leave those counts to the live help.

In the worksheet, label the event “threshold reached” and store the displayed cumulative Moon value. Do not fill a missing number from another Big Bad Wolf release.

If the product sheet later supplies exact counts, add them with a dated citation and preserve the prior Game ID.

Final multiplier settlement

Record every win with the multiplier active at that moment. A tumble chain can cross a Moon threshold, so the opening and closing states may differ within one Free Spin.

Use the server event order to determine whether the new multiplier applies immediately or from the next evaluation. Do not choose the more favourable timing manually.

At feature end, add awards already multiplied at their own stages. Applying x3 to the entire raw feature total can double-count earlier multiplication.

Support-case package

A useful dispute package contains trigger grid, route name, Game ID, RTP, stake, tumble states, colour upgrades, removed-Piggy count, armour ledger, Wolf attacks, Moon state and multiplier.

Attach the final round-specific credit. Avoid including passwords, payment secrets or unrelated identity documents in the first request.

This package lets support isolate whether the disagreement concerns an upgrade threshold, layer consumption, spin addition or multiplier timing.

Editorial acceptance checklist

Verify red at two, green at four and blue at six; three removed Piggies for one layer and six for two; three/four/five Wolf Bonus routes; ten starting spins; Moon additions; and four RTP models.

Check that no section claims a precise Moon threshold absent from the source or turns “around 18,000×” into an exact universal maximum.

Run word-count, internal-link and duplicate-paragraph audits. The article should remain a technical explanation of this game’s three state systems, not generic casino filler.

Final ledger reconciliation

One paid spin can contain several tumbles, upgrades, armour changes and Wolf attacks. A triggered bonus remains linked to that initiating round.

Compare the sum of stage awards with the server ledger credit. If the main balance differs, check concurrent activity before alleging a calculation error.

Archive the source date and round ID with the state table so a later game revision can be separated from the historical result.

Verify every armour layer independently.

Official sources

Bottom line: audit colour thresholds and fortification layers independently, then follow the Moon and multiplier state through the selected bonus.

How to verify the version you can actually open

A provider page proves that a title exists and describes the supplier's intended rules. It does not prove that a casino accepts players in New Zealand, that the title is enabled for a particular account, or that the highest published RTP is the version in the lobby. Treat availability, operator eligibility and product configuration as three separate checks.

Start with identity, then configuration

Open the game only through the authenticated casino lobby. The information or help panel should identify Quickspin, the exact title and the active mathematical return. Compare the reel or grid layout, paylines or cluster rules, named features and symbol behaviour with the official product material. Similar artwork or a matching title is not enough when the help file is missing or inconsistent.

When the supplier publishes several RTP values, report all of them as configurations. Do not assume the highest option is deployed. RTP is a theoretical long-run measure across a very large number of rounds; it is not a refund rate for one player and cannot predict the next result. Volatility is different: it describes how unevenly results are distributed on the provider's scale.

Read stake controls as money, not interface decoration

Provider sheets often quote a reference range in euros. That range does not establish New Zealand-dollar support or the limits in a specific account. Before a paid round, identify the total amount that will leave the balance. If the interface separates denomination, coins and lines, verify the combined total. If Extra Bet is active, calculate its full cost before pressing spin.

Feature-buy prices are multiples of the current bet, not promised returns. A 100x purchase at a $1 stake costs $100; at a $2 stake it costs $200. Availability can vary by market and some mathematical configurations may not support the control. If the live help does not explain the price, delivered feature and active RTP, leave the option unused.

Keep simulation figures in their proper scope

A game sheet may publish a maximum result observed in a large simulation. That is not automatically the contractual maximum payout and never describes a likely session. Preserve the provider's wording, sample size and configuration. Check the live rules for a binding cap and the operator terms for any separate payout limit. Do not turn an extreme result into a promotional headline.

Audit a disputed round

If an animation freezes or a connection drops, do not repeat the wager immediately. Reopen the game through the authenticated lobby and inspect round history. Record the time, total stake, balance movement and round identifier. The result can be settled by the gaming system even when the device never displays the final animation. Send evidence through verified operator support; never disclose a password, recovery phrase or one-time code.

Read the paytable as a calculation document

The paytable should explain what creates a win, which symbols substitute, where special symbols can land and how multiple awards combine. For line games, confirm direction and active paylines. For cluster games, confirm adjacency, minimum group size and the order of collection. For respins, identify what remains locked, what resets the counter and what ends the feature. A graphic effect can illustrate those rules but cannot replace them.

Separate addition from multiplication. Several prize values may be added before a multiplier applies, while reel-specific multipliers can sometimes multiply together only when each reel participates in the same win. Reconstruct one low-stake result from game history. If the arithmetic cannot be matched to the help file, stop and ask the operator rather than guessing.

Do not confuse hit frequency with a profitable round

Provider sheets can publish hit frequency or category probabilities. A hit simply means a round returned a qualifying amount; it can be smaller than the stake. “Big”, “Mega” or “Epic” thresholds are provider reporting categories, not promises. They are useful for comparing mathematical versions only when definitions and samples are the same.

Random outcomes do not become due after a long gap. A feature that appeared repeatedly in a demo or marketing clip has no obligation to repeat in a funded session. Previous rounds do not create a debt from the next random result.

Confirm market and device behaviour independently

A title can exist in the supplier catalogue while an operator disables it for a territory, currency, device or bonus. Language localisation is not evidence of legal availability. Confirm the operator's identity, accepted countries and current lobby separately from the provider review.

On mobile, verify that balance, total bet, feature state and help remain visible without overlap. On desktop, check that browser zoom does not hide a purchase control or change the apparent denomination. Mathematical configuration should not change merely because the screen changes; if the help shows another RTP, treat it as a different deployment and record it.

Keep a compact evidence record

For any fact used in a review, save the title, provider, official URL, document date when available, access date and exact territorial scope. For a live session, add the operator domain, Game ID, RTP, currency and a non-sensitive screenshot of the help panel. This makes later corrections possible when a supplier updates a sheet or an operator changes configuration.

Missing information should remain missing. Do not estimate an RTP from results, convert a euro reference range into an operator's NZD limit, or treat another casino's configuration as evidence. A transparent “not confirmed” is more useful than a precise-looking number without the correct source.

Use limits that survive the feature design

Collection meters, expanding grids, sticky symbols and near misses can make a session feel unfinished. Unless the rules explicitly preserve progress, the visible state has no value after the round or feature ends. Set a money limit and time limit before launch, count feature buys immediately, and stop at the limit even when a meter appears close to an upgrade.

No random game is an income plan. Do not borrow, use essential funds or raise the stake to recover a loss. If play stops feeling recreational, use timeout, deposit-limit or self-exclusion tools and consult the site's responsible gambling guide.

Primary source and correction path

This guide separates documented product information from market availability. Check the official source and the game help inside the exact version offered before making a decision.
